CHAPTER # 19

"...Um...Sabrina? Why are we doing this again?" Anne, who is currently standing in the middle of the incantation I drew on the floor, asked me, who is currently immersed in the book, to find the correct spell.

"You trust me?" I asked Anne, still looking in the book. She nodded.

"I can't see you since I'm back facing you in case you silently nodded" I said, making her embarrassed.

"Hehe. How did you know?" she asked and I finally turned towards her and said,

"Because I know you" making her smile.

"You didn't answer my question?" She said, making me sigh.

"We are doing this so that we...um...yeah, so that we can stay together forever and eat sweets without getting scolded." I said, making her eyes shine with excitement.

'I can clearly see candies in her eyes instead of eyeballs' I thought while chuckling.

Well the real reason behind all this stuff is that last night when I saw the book glowing in Anne's hand I got the confirmation that Anne is related to the Agnola, so I decided to perform this spell which helps the Agnola restore their power. Well it's not for awakening but if it is restoring so it might help her powers to arouse.

This spell which is more like a rune with weird symbols was mentioned at the end of the book where many more spells related to Agnola's power were present but they were of no use unless your powers were fully aroused.

"Okay so, stay still and close your eyes" I asked Anne and she did as I said. Soon after I started to read out the spell.

It was in ancient language which I don't know how but I was quite familiar with it. Maybe because I'm from another time dimension. As a spy, I had to learn various languages and this ancient language was a mix of all of them. Some words were Mandarin, some were Korean, some Urdu, some Persian and some French or Spanish maybe but the writing style and letters were something I was completely unfamiliar with but I could still understand and read them.

I was slowly reading every letter carefully while Anne was standing still with her eyes closed. The spell was almost coming to an end and as soon as I read out the last word I closed the book and joined my hands praying to God to make it work.

I slowly opened my eyes just to see the incantation on the ground glowing. My eyes widened and I instantly looked towards Anne whose golden eyes were shining as if the sun was residing inside them.

I was just mesmerised by the scene, so shocked to even blink my eyes. Suddenly both her eyes and the incantation stopped glowing and Anne fell on the ground. I ran towards her, panicking.

"Anne!!!!" I shouted and shook her. She was unconscious which made me worry to death.

'What happened? Did the spell backfired? What will happen to Anne?' I thought as I kept shaking her. My eyes were filled with tears as I was still shaking her.

"Wake up! Anne...wake up..." I was continuously saying as my tears started to fall on Anne's face as her head was on my lap.

I was constantly crying but stopped when a voice suddenly spoke up.

"Did we...succeed?"

It was Anne!

She slowly opened her eyes and when she saw me crying, she jolted up and faced me.

"Sabi, why are you crying? Is everything okay?" she asked, holding my hand and I just burst into tears of relief after seeing her all energised.

"I-I thought...something h-happened to y-you." I said between my sniffles while she hugged me.

"I'm completely fine, okay? I just lost the energy in my body that is why I collapsed" she said, patting my back.

After a while I calmed down and we both sat on the couch in my room.

"...Sabi?" suddenly Anne spoke to which I hummed in response.

"This was the first time I ever saw you cry" she said, fidgeting her fingers while I just stared at her blankly.

"I was sad and my chest hurt when I saw you cry" she said indicating her heart broke while seeing me cry.

I smiled at her innocence as she continued.

"I was happy too," she said, confusing me.

"I was happy because you were worried for me" she said, smiling while I just shook my head in disbelief.

"Seriously Anne, And why do you think I won't be worried for you?" I asked as she shot up her head.

"No I didn't mean that I just meant it like....like when a bird-" " I got it!" I cut her off, showing my palm in the air.

"I really don't have the energy to process her example" I mumbled to myself.

"What?" Anne asked.

"What?" I asked too.

"What what?" she asked back.

"I asked what to your what. First you asked what to which I replied with a what because I didn't understand to what you said what? So would you mind telling me for what reason you asked what?....What?" I asked her as she got confused and on the other hand I also got perplexed by my own sentence.

"...."

We both were staring at each other trying to understand why we were playing the 'What' game?

"....Nevermind" I said, breaking the silence.

"So Anne I wanted to say-" I was saying but stopped when I saw her pouting,

"Why are you pouting?" I asked. She looked at me and said,

"You are not calling me Ann..."

I chuckled at her cute behaviour and spread my arms to which she came running and engulfing me in a hug.

"I'm sorry" I said.

"It's okay. Everybody makes mistake" she said, making me smile.

"You're so sweet," I said, pinching her cheeks as she giggled.

"But I'm still very sorry I really didn't think something like that might happen." I said feeling guilty.

"It's okay Sabi. It's just a name" Anne said.

"What?" I asked, looking at her confused.

"What?" she asked, looking all innocent.

'Okay I'm not starting this again!'

"So you thought I was apologizing for not calling you Ann?" I asked.

"So you were not saying sorry for that?" she asked.

"You-....leave it" I said, giving up.

"It's okay I forgive you for not calling me Ann. It's not a big mistake and even if you make a big big mistake I will still forgive you" She smiled at me while I couldn't help but let out a helpless smile at her innocence.

I hugged her and she hugged me back.

'Fuck this shit! I am not getting Anne involved ever again. I can not risk her life just because of some stupid book' I though glaring at the book which was laying on the ground.

'Now there is only one person who can help me...' I thought.

That Granny...
