CHAPTER # 43

"Responsibilities? What type of responsibilities?" I asked.

"Right. What responsibilities? Hmm...the responsibility of having power. What you have been granted is not something to be taken granted. There is a purpose behind being chosen as the descendent of the ones carrying fragments of Sol and Luna. It's a huge responsibility.

Though you might think the soul before you was originally chosen and since you are now in that body is how that power has passed on to you but your assumption is wrong. It was fated that an Agnola will be born in this time era but who was it? It hadn't been revealed by the creator of the world.

And you being in that body blessed with this divine power is the sole evidence that you were chosen to be the blessed one, not the previous soul. The soul left that body on the day you entered which was its own choice and for you to be chosen to replace the soul is not a mere coincidence." She explained as I was thunderstruck.

"So you're saying that...I was called in this body? For a purpose?" I asked, still in a state of surprise.

"Yes. You can say that. You are here for a purpose." she added.

"What type of purpose?" I asked.

"The purpose is to save this world," she said.

"But why me? I can't do something like that. I just want to live a carefree life. Saving the world was enough in my last life. I have enough of it now." I complained. Ferina chuckled before speaking,

"You are chosen because you are more than capable of doing it and who told you to not enjoy your life. Enjoy it to the fullest and isn't it your specialty to find fun in everything? You are a pure soul, exactly what is required for this position. You have a clear and carefree heart, a pure soul, a loving personality and a fun character. You'll go through this journey in the best possible way ever and that's what makes you special".

I cleared my throat as I got embarrassed upon being showered with compliments.

'You think you can win me over with complimenting me like that?...You maybe right' I thought and soon heard Ferina burst into giggles. I looked towards her confused.

"You are so cute" she said in between her giggles.

"Wait! Don't tell me you can hear my thoughts!" I exclaimed.

"Sorry to break it up to you but I can" she said as heat reached my face due to embarrassment.

"Sorry sorry, I won't tease you anymore" she said as she sat back straight.

Again silence took over the atmosphere. Whereas I went deep into my thoughts as Ferina's words kept replaying in my head.

"Chill out" Ferina suddenly spoke as I looked at her in amusement.

"Hehe. I heard you say that often so I also said it" she said innocently, making me giggle.

"Yeah you're right. Why should I stress over it when it won't help a bit" I said. Ferina looked at me, confused.

"I mean, it's just my theory that if you have a problem, stressing over it won't do you any good. Neither a solution will pop up itself nor will your problem fade away. Instead, your anxiety increases and you are sitting in a corner holding the roots of your hair, balling your eyes out. So instead of stressing over an issue, stay calm and chill. Look for a solution with a peaceful mind which will surely help you out" I stated whereas she looked stunned by my words.

"You sure are full of surprises. That's quite a useful advice. Everyone should know about it" she said.

"Not everyone but at least my close ones do" I said as she smiled.

"Do you know that there is a reason you are attracted to flowers?" she suddenly spoke, totally irrelevant to the topic, making me confused.

"What?" I asked.

"Agnola can make healing potions out of flowers and they have a vast field of knowledge about flowers and plants. Some of the previous Agnola, they became florists as a side hustle because of their interests in flowers whereas some took botanical medicine as their major due to their interests" she explained as I slowly nodded my head.

"I think you'll be going into a related major," she then added. I looked at her confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Nothing. You should now head back or do you plan to stay for a little more while?" she asked and reality hit me that I was in the middle of my selection test.

"Yeah, I should go back now" I said with an awkward smile. We both stood up and Ferina held both of my hands before speaking,

"You just have to close your eyes and count till three, Okay?" I nodded and was about to close my eyes but suddenly Ferina spoke, "Oh wait? I forgot to tell you something."

"What?" I asked.

"I forgot to tell you that whenever you want to return to this place for any flower or herb you need or just for peace, you just have to close your eyes and think about this Lolal tree that you call Wisteria for some reason and before you open your eyes, you'll be here in no time. And don't worry I won't be here but whenever you need me, just call my name and I'll be right in front of you" she said.

I was happy upon hearing that I can return to this place again. It would have been sad if I couldn't. I nodded my head happily before closing my eyes and started counting.

"See you"

I opened my eyes and I was back in the room, at the same place I was standing earlier in front of the glowing globe.

"Congratulations Lady Sabrina. Your major is Anthology. Quite unexpected but it's not bad. We wish you good luck for your future." the male judge said as I got out of my trance.

'Anthology? Study of flowers? That's unexpected. I thought it'll be literature or knight ship something but oh well, this is not bad either. Is this what Ferina meant earlier?' I thought as I recalled Ferina's words.

"Please take your seat here" one of the female judges said as I proceeded my steps towards the sole chair in the room. I sat on the chair and trust me, it felt no less then an interrogation of a murder.

"Here is a list of subjects you can choose as your electives. Only two can be chosen." Miss Amber said as she passed me a piece of paper in which a list of subjects could be seen.

The subjects included Pazerian language which is an important language just like 'English' in the previous world, Swordsmanship, History art, Public affairs, Mathematics, Communication, literacy and so on. Even the major subjects were also listed like medicine, literature, politics etc.

I looked towards Aiden, wondering what his major was and what electives he chose and to my surprise he understood my curiosity.

"Literature is my major. Public relations and the Pazerian language is..." Aiden spoke as all the judges looked towards him in a jolt.

"...what I chose" he finished and sat straight, avoiding the eyes of the judges that were fixed at him.

I nodded my head upon hearing him and finally selected the subjects I wanted as my electives.

"I choose....Pazerian language and Swordsmanship" I announced my choice. The judges looked taken aback by my choice of swordsmanship but who cares.

"Are you sure?" Miss Ambern asked to which I nodded.

"Very well then. The rest of the details will be sent to your residence. We look forward to having you here. You may take your leave now" the male judge said.

'It's over? It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be' I thought. I nodded and stood up before bowing to them and heading out.

"Anne! Ivy!" I exclaimed as I ran to them.

"What happened? What did you get?" Anne asked.

"My major is-" "Next"

The man announced again, catching us off guard. Ivy smiled at us and headed towards the door as we cheered for her. After she left our sight, Anne turned to me with the same curiosity as earlier.

"*giggle* So, my major is Anthology and my electives are Pazerian language and swordsmanship" I told her as her happy expression soon faded as she sulked.

'Why does she remind me of a puppy?' I thought.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"You and I will have to get separated everyday for five consecutive hours since we have only two common subjects. I can't handle that!" Anne exclaimed as I giggled.

"Why? What did you choose?" I asked.

She briefly looked at me before saying, "As I said earlier, Medicine is my main major and as for my electives I wasn't given much of a choice. One elective was fixed which was communications and the other I chose was public relations because I was nervous and it just came out of my mouth. And I can't change my elective subject until the foundation year ends" Anne complained with a cute pout on her face.

"Aiden is also in public rel-" I was saying but stopped.

'Wait...If both of them are in the same class without my presence then...No!! That can't happen! I can't leave my sweet Anne alone with him at any cost!...But what can I do?'

My thoughts started to run wild as Anne's whining made me snap out of my trance.

"But I don't want to study with him~ He is not you~" Anne whined as I chuckled at her cuteness.

"Don't worry. I will try to stay with you as much as possible. Even if it means changing my electives!" I reassured her as she smiled fondly at me, making me melt at the spot.

"Lady Sabrina. Lady Anne" Ivy called out in her sweet voice as we turned around. She walked towards us with a happy expression on her face.

"You look happy. You got into your favourite major?" I asked as she shook her head.

"Then?" I asked, confused.

"I'm happy because I got to be in the same major as you." she said as she smiled shyly.

"Huh?" I looked at her confused.

"Honestly, I didn't have any major in mind but when the globe showed Anthology, the teacher told me that you also had the same major which made me exceptionally happy" she said as I passed her a smile.

"Great! We both are in the sa-" I was saying but someone cut me off and that someone was none other than...

"Uwaaah!! Why does she get to be with you but not me?! This is unfair! This really unfair!!!" Anne started to whine as Ivy and I looked at her continuously whining.

"What's wrong with her?" Ivy asked.

"Our major and our electives are way too different" I replied, ignoring the cries of Anne who was now on the floor. Ivy nodded, understanding the displeasure of Anne.

After a while Anne calmed down with the help of Ivy because it seemed like my voice wasn't even reaching her ears. Soon after Aiden also walked out of the room.

"What were you do-"

"I don't! Wanna talk about it"

Aiden cut me off and headed straight out, leaving us all confused.

Soon we also walked towards the main hall where our escorts were waiting.

"Goodbye Lady Sabrina, Lady Anne and your Highness. It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I hope we meet again soon" Ivy said as she bowed.

"We will. And we are now friends so don't be so formal. Just call me Sabrina like I call you Ivy? Right?" I said as she looked quite touched.

"Yes, Sabrina" She said as I smiled at her. Soon she left and we also bid Aiden goodbye before heading back home.

"It was fun..." Anne spoke as I reverted my gaze from the carriage window to her.

"It sure was," I smiled.

"But I'm still really upset. It really isn't fair and I really...."

'And~ Here she goes again'
