Chiron carefully inspected the contents of the sack. He assumed that the silver looking coins were probably a type of currency and decided to keep it, though he didn't use of the three red vials. However, one thing he could tell was the markings on the vials were almost identical to the ones on the obelisks.
He asked the AI to scan the contents, only to here:
[Unable to scan contents due to interference]
Chiron sighed, even though he had already somewhat expected it.
"This AI is really good for nothing. If it wasn't for its information. Which, even then, I'll be able to eventually to do independently, it would have been completely worthless", Chiron's mind then flashed to his first memory of the AI. He recalled the curiously extending his hand towards a flashing red screen that read:
[Termination order recieved]
Chiron's didn't know why but the AI, but the was tasked to eliminate him as soon as he appeared on this foreign world.
Chiron's face darkened as he began to think, 'For whatever reason, the AI was incapable of executing the order and I was able to survive. However, this doesn't make it any less dangerous, as a matter of fact it's a ticking time bomb.' Thoughts continued to flash through his head, 'What would have happend if it was able to complete the order? I would have died a brainless toddler with absolutely no clue about where I was, or even who I was.
He Chiron gritted his teeth, 'No, I refuse to die clueless. I have to at least find out the mystery behind the AI and the reason oft the 'Termination Order.' The only way to solve his questions, to remove this fog over his head, the only present ways was to consume more souls.
'If it comes down to it I can just continually hunt down more of these beastmen. This city should be full of them at the center,' at this point the hunger inside him began to take over.
It took a couple of moments to come back to his senses, 'That's right, the AI isn't my only. I also have to be cautious about this hunger'
With a goal in mind, Chiron focused his mind and looked at his current situation.
"Okay, right now I'm inside a foreign world, in a house with three dead people. Apart from the contents inside the sack and the sword I took from the fanged man, I have nothing." said Chiron.
"I don't know how common it is to see a naked 10-year old walking down the streets, so I should probably get some clothes," he looked towards the skeletons' clothes.
One had a bloody gaping hole in the center, so that was a no. The was a bit too big for Chiron's small frame.
Chiron walked out of the house in a baggy shirt, carrying with a sack hurled on his back, and the short sword hidden in his baggy shirt. If any passerby were to see Chiron, they'd probably laugh at his comedic look. With a shirt too big for him and pants that fit the same, he would have looked like a clown if you dabbed some makeup on him.
Chiron's first goal was to find himself a center of operations like an inn or an abandoned shack. The reason he didn't stay inside the house, was because whatever the backatory between the man with the red mole claws and the fanged man, he didn't want to get more involved than he already was.
As Chiron walked inwards, towards the center of the city, he saw that the living conditions gradually improved. He no longer saw cracked roads or dilapidated houses. He saw the streets gradually fill with people, well if you could call them that. Most people he saw had minor mutations on their body's. Some had claws, wings, tails, he even saw a man whose entire head was a that of a rooster. However, one thing they all shared in common was the aura they gave off. All the people he crossed, all exuded a faint layer of killing intent.
Chiron raised his guard, as he continued down the road he thought to himself, 'This is more than meets the eye, thankfully I have 'Life Sense' so I can feel if anyone gets too close for comfort.'
A couple minutes later, towards the side of the road he heard a buzz of noises coming from one of the establishments. He looked at the side hanging beside the entrance, but was shocked to see that could understand it.
'That's odd, I don't ever recall reading this language before, whre could I have encountered it?' Chiron looked back at his most recent memories and came up with a crazy thought, 'Co-could I have learned it from that soul I absorbed. It might not make sense how, but then again souls are a collection of information according to the AI.' Plus, his ability allowed him to ABSORB souls for his own benefit, it wouldn't be so far fetched to think this was the case.
He opened the door to the establishment called, 'The Deep Diner', immediately the smell of cooked food entered his nose, causing Chiron to salivate. He found an open table near the entrance of the diner and sat down. He sat in silence trying to see if he could understand the language being spoken, 'surprisingly' he was able to understand the conversation from the table adjacent to his.
"Did you here that, Norm, from 'Forest Wolves' ran off with the new drug they were making?" a man with the head of a lizard asked his companion.
"Of course I've heard, everybody's heard," the man answered half-drunkedly. "They've been after him for weeks now, but *hic* I heard the 'Forest Wolves' sent Rah'tu," said the man as he put his head on the table.
The lizard man laughed, " Haha *hic*, if they sent Rah'Ru we should be seeing his corpse pop sometime soon. Haha *hic*." After that both men were done talking they both left the diner and walked outside.
They were walking in the direction from where a
Chiron had come from. They stumbled on down the streets, with one arm slung over the others shoulder.
The lizardman companion, tripped fell then just sat there laughing. "Moris *hic*, now's no time to be laughing. We gots to get back to inn to pay the *hic* rooms," said the lizardman to Moris.
"Shut *hic* up Ken, this isn't even the direction of the inn," Moris said to Ken. Ken stretched out a hand and pulled Moris up. Once Moris was standing, when the duo turned around to head towards the inn, they both saw something in the darkness.
Though it was vague he could see a faint outline, "Hey, who's are you?", yelled Moris. As he was speaking the outline walked towards them, until they could make out what it was. It was a little boy wearing clothes that were obviously too big for him, with a sack slung over his back.
"Though I can understand the language, I can't quite speak it yet," the boy said.
But to Moris and Ken, the little boy was only speaking gibberish. "Oy boy, you best leave while me and my buddy are still a good mood. Go *hic* Run along," yelled Moris. As he was about to continue his drunked yelling, the boy disappeared from his vision.
He looked around, shocked before he felt a hand on his head. As he felt his consciousness get sucked away he turned towards Ken, to only see a skeleton, before he soon followed.
