Chapter 6

Chiron didn't want to take any chances by underestimatingthe creatures in this foreign world. That's why, as soon as the creature had found him there was no fanfare or hesitation. Chiron immediately jumped towards Rah'Tu, his eyes already abyss black.

It only took a few seconds before Rah'Tu's body fell lifeless on the floor, beside his target, Norm.

The battle wasn't even hard, as a matter of fact, one could even say that Rah'Tu stood no chance. Yet, despite all of this, Chiron had a frown on his face.

'It was different from when I used 'Soul Absorption' against the creatures in the tunnel. Insteadof being instant, I felt a sort of resistance from his soul when I tried 'Soul Absorption', he thought as he continued to ponder, before opening his mouth and swallowing al that remained of Rah'Tu, leaving only bones on the ground.

Norm had instantly died by Rah'Tu's strike, so by the time Chiron had reached him his soul had already dissipated. So Chiron only opened his mouth to swallow his body, however this time without placing his hand on Norm's head.

After absorbing Rah'Tu's soul, a portion of Chiron's memory had returned. Although it wasn't as much as the first time, he had remembered that 'Organic Syphoning' didn't need physical contact.

However, a few cons with this, were the reduced potency on the ability with distance, as well as the increased SE consumption.

'It might be better to only use this function only once my soul is both healed and a higher level.' Chiron finally concluded, while deciding that for now, it woul be better to use the method he had been using. He then raised his head to look at the AIs notification it had had gotten from Rah'Tu.

[Infant Soul(Initial Stage) detected]

Unlike the string of random memories he had gotten with the 'Saber-Toothed Centipede'. This time, he only remembered one of Organic Syphoning's' functions.

"AI, what was the soul level of the 'Saber-Toothed Centipede'."

[The soul rank of the 'Saber-Toothed Centipede', was Infant Soul(Intermediate Stage)]

[Due to your species' , N/A, ability to lower the other organisms' guard, you were able to hunt the 'Saber-Toothed Centipede']

[Caution: Effects greatly reduce against more intelligent targets, as well as, targets with higher Soul Cultivation]

'So I need to find targets with higher Soul Cultivation, however they should be somewhere inside my range, whish is, hmm... Let's say I can absorb 'Infant Souls' at the 'Intermediate Stage' Chiron concluded, snapping out of of his newfound discovery.

Two skeletons lied on the floor, one had a broad frame with the 'Blood Dune Mole's' signature red claws. The other with a relatively normal frame, with the only abnormality being two fangs present in its skull.

He slowly crouched down to pick up one of Norm's blades.

'This outta help me save some SE', because the truth was, although his ability was powerful, it wasn't stealthy.

If someone on the street saw that everyone you passed by suddenly turn into skeletons. Would they chalk it up as nothing more than supernatural phenomenon? Hell no, they'd be suspicious and you'd be the number one suspect?

'But then again, people would be even more suspicious of a ten year old boy carrying a weapon', Chiron sighed with frustration at his current dilemma, but still opted to take one of the blades.

Next, he looked around the room, and found a trail of blood leading to an adjacent room. He followed it carefully, because although his 'Life Sense' didn't detect anything, it didn't hurt to be cautious.

He slowly opened the door to the room, as soon as he opened the door a foul rotten stench rushed out of the room. Unhindered by the foul stench, Chiron walked into the room that looked a lot like a bedroom.

On the bed, he found the decayed corpse of an old beast woman. She had golden fur with some white streaks that came with age, as well as a Although the sight looked disgusting Chiron's mind was able to stay clear.

'I believe this was the original owner of this house, the man with the fangs probably killed her to hide in this house, though his efforts were in vain', Chiron thought, casting a glance at Norm's skeleton.

He looked around from the rooms counter, walls, and finally bed. By now Chiron had already used 'Organic Syphoning' on the corpse, and truthfully the why about his hunger still mystified Chiron.

Chiron clutched at his only now satisfied stomach, 'Damn, the hunger seems to be getting more severe, I'm starting to get the feeling that it'll be hard to sate it in the foreseeable future'

Looking under the bed Chiron was greeted by a bulging sack. Chiron pulled the sack from under the bed and opened it layer out the contents on the floor. It had about 100 silver looking coins, as well as 3 red vials.
