Chapter 4

Mia woke up in a snow-white room and found herself in clean clothes. She looked around and saw a nurse coming towards her and with her was Sam and the man who she thought might be her uncle.

"How are you feeling my dear?" Sam asked. "Better, thank you for helping me," Mia said. "No problem, you dont trust those men do you?" he asked. "No, but that's because of who my father is," Mia said. "What do you mean?" Sam asked.

"My mom told me to phone my uncle not my dad. There was this rule that he would come and find me I dont have to look for him. Then there is the fact that other than you Sam I dont know any of my parents' friends or family. I took a chance when I realised my uncle is behind the whole thing. For what it was worth my mother tried to warn my dad about everything somehow she knew they were coming," Mia said.

"Are you sure my brother is behind everything?" Mike asked. He and that funny Lady blocked the doors I was in this underground room but the window above made it possible for me to escape," Mia said as she explained what happend to her but then she revealed something Mike's brother didn't tell him. "Mom told me to phone the number on the phone after a month the man that answered would be my uncle. He does not know about me but she suspected that he wouldn't be surprised also I was to tell him she loves him," Mia said.

Mike suddenly looked at Mia and asked, "What were your father thinking?" he asked. "I feel like everyone is asking that question and I will ask my father that question when I see him, that is if I see him," Mia said.

"What do you mean Mia?" Sam asked. "Our home was burned down to the ground," Mia said. Mike and Sam looked at one another for some time before Mike asked, "Did they even send you to school?" he asked. "Mom did homeschooling with me I finished last year, she wanted me to study further but dad said it was too much of a risk," Mia said.

"Figures why did she have to marry the one man that enjoys living in isolation," Mike asked. "In my backpack is papers my mother said you would need them, your brother never took them," Mia said. Mike took out the papers and looked through them. "He is an idiot but at least I can legally take care of you?" Mike said.

"You're not going to be a slave driver like my dad when it comes to training are you?" Mia asked. "Sam laughed and asked, so your father trained you himself did he?" Mia looked at Mike and said, "yea and believe it or not mom did fight with him on more than one occasion on his methods of training," Mia said.

"How did he train you?" Mike asked. "He trained me the same way as he was trained in his words the good old fashion way but mom didn't like his methods. They fought about it he would say she is too soft and she would say he is too hard," Mia siad.

"That could not have turned out well?" Sam asked. "Yes well I can control my powers near perfectly, but dad felt he needed to teach me how to control my power in a different situation. Like how not to use your power out of fear," Mia said.

"You were scared Mia and your father should not have gone to such lengths to train you," Mike said. "Yes well we have never had men chasing us before and dad had a way to think of the worst scenario and somehow making it happen," Mia said.

"Well you save here now not that I know what to do with you, since they didn't send you to college and your father thought he was funny to give you military training," Mike said.

"Just give me a book and pencils so I can draw something while I wait for you to make a decision," Mia said. "You draw?" Mike asked. "Yea mom thought me how to draw, dad would be hard in training and then mom would teach me art to help me cope with dad's training, mom usually lost fights against dad but when she won dad would distance himself from us for a while," Mia said.

"Did your father ever beat you in training Mia?" Mike asked. "No mom made sure to stay close by for training, dad could really lose control during training," Mia said.

"I hear from Sam your hearing is really sensitive?" Mike asked. "Yes well listening to music or watching tv wasn't on dad's list. I find it hard to enjoy any of it, you know uncle said watching the stars at night isn't fun," Mia said.

"What did you do for fun?" Mike asked. "When even dad would lose his temper mom and I would camp out. She would tell me stories of her childhood and what grandpa told her. Then dad would join us and he would teach me about the stars," Mia said.

"Did you and your dad ever have fun together?" Mike asked. "We had our fun times together but then the people started to disappear. Mom was worried about me so they fought about me a lot but I can see why mom fought with dad. If he listened to her I wouldn't be alone right now," Mia said.

Mike and Sam left the room and soon a nurse came back with a book and some drawing supplies. "Here now you can draw again," the nurse said. Mia spends her day drawing a waterfall scene hidden in a mountain. She was so focused on drawing that she didn't notice how fast time flew by.

The doctor gave Mia a checkup and told her she could go home. She was sitting in the hospital lobby waiting for Sam and Mike to come and get her and so at a table she got busy with her drawing.

Mia looked up and saw her uncle walking towards her but she kept drawing. He started to talk to her but she ignored him and kept drawing then he lost his temper and tore up her drawing. Mia got up and looked at her uncle and said, "Dad was right not to trust you," Mia said. "Your dad doesn't know what he is talking about," her uncle siad.

The room grew quiet and Mia said, "I really hate your right now." Her uncle looked at her and said, "does it look like I care about Mia, bring her with us," her uncle ordered. The men touched her but they quickly let her go and Mia smiled. "What are you fools waiting for an invitation?" her uncle asked.

The men touched her, again and again, they were shocked. Mia was in control of her emotions and she was showing her last element to her uncle. This element was the most dangerous element. The men tried to touch her again only to be shocked again. Her uncle lost his patience and touched Mia only to be shocked.

"What are you exactly?" he asked. "O me I am supposed to be your fun-loving niece but I can get nasty if you push it," Mia said, Mika and Sam walked into the hospital. Mike saw his brother on the floor and then he noticed the eyes on Mia.

"You might have my parents but I won't come with you but the word of the wise. It's not a good idea to mess with my dad," Mia said out loud.

"I couldn't care less about your dad it's your mother we need," her uncle said. "Sir that is sensitive information," a guard told him. "O be quiet, I only needed your mother but you put up too much of a big fight, but in the end, we got them both," her uncle said. "You will never have me but I should warn you it's best to stay on my dad's good side," Mia said.

The guard looked at Mia but they left taking her slightly shocked uncle with them. Mia looked at her drawing that was torn up, "you okay Mia?" Sam asked. "It was a picture of the last time we spent together as a family," Mia said.

"You can draw it again and you will have plenty of new memories to draw," Mike said. A nurse came running over to Mike and told him what his brother said, "I didn't want to believe it but I seem to be correct," Mike said and thanked the nurse.

They took Mia home that night and as she walked into the big building she looked at her uncle. "I don't own a home I live here and now you do too," Mike said as he gave Mia her room keys. "Thank you, Uncle," Mia siad. "Please just call me Mike and if you need me just ask anyone you see," Mike said.
