Chapter 51

"They say a dog's senses are better than a humans senses. Some even believe dogs can see things we can not see and it doesn't matter how good your sight is," Leo said. "I didn't know that," Mia said. "Dogs are smart creatures that's why we use them to help us find missing people or in some cases criminals," Leo said.

Mia smiled and looked at Kevin, "since I will be working in a team from now on. Does this mean the base can leave me alone and stop calling me rude things? I did it, I just proved I can be a valuable member uncle so stop telling me I am useless," Mia said looking her uncle in the eyes.

"That is what all this was about Mia?" Kevin asked. "Yes, I am tired of being called names. They are my parents and we are a family so stop insulting us. It's not my fault my dad didn't want to send me to school. It's not my fault my dad didn't want to send me to a university. I know they loved me and I know they are hard workers," Mia said.

"Yes, and I know you will follow in their footsteps one way or the other. Jasmine, Mary Anne, I suppose this means we will see the two of you again soon?" Kevin asked.

"Yes and for some of us it's a lot sooner. We will be keeping an eye on Mia here, If she is Zara and Johns daughter she might have their skills," Jasmine said. "NOT this again, Clara and Zack are already watching me. Can I ask for some form of privacy please," Mia asked.

"I am afraid that will not happen since you do have a dangerous element," Jasmine said. Mia looked at Kevin for help and he said, "she does have a right to privacy Jasmine. I will not let the place we call home turn into a circus. It's enough that Zack doesn't trust her with her own powers," Kevin said.

"And the council thinks he has a point," Jasmine said. "Point or not, Jasmine. You are punishing Mia for something that she is and in case you did not know it's not her fault. Let her enjoy life. If you do want to keep an eye on her do so for everyone on the base. An officer that can report to you about all the elements on the base and a trainer that has the knowledge to help teach those that doesn't have control how to control their power but you need to let Mia grow," Kevin said.

"He is right Jasmine, you and the rest of the council are punishing Mia and it's not fair to her or anyone else. It will not hurt to provide the base with the resources to help people like Mia. It's not the first time that clover has discovered rare elementals among its ranks. In fact, it has also happened that clover had rare elementals that haven't even awaken yet," Mary Anne said.

"I suppose you are right I will talk to the council Kevin but if we do this everyone needs to take this seriously and Mia, no more running away from the base," Jasmine said.

"Yes, well tell the base to stop blaming me. Becasue I suspect I will be blamed for these new changes as well," Mia said.

"Only if you let them will they blame you, you need to learn how to handle not only them but everyone," Jasmine said.

"It still hurts no matter how kind you make it sound," Mia complained.

"Stop complaining Mia and learn to deal with it," Jasmine said.

Mia watched as Jasmine got into her truck and looked at Kevin. "No matter what you say, I will still be blamed for these changes," Mia replied.

Kevin looked at Mia and said, "I know but what other choice did I have Mia. If we let too many people spy on the base no one will be able to do their jobs. Your, not the only one that doesn't like Clara spying on the base and ever since you left we have noticed an increase of her men and that worries me," Kevin said.

"You don't think there is a new elemental on the base do you?" Mia asked. "Yes and at first we thought it was Mike's daughter but according to Sally, she has no power," Kevin said.

"So it's someone else, someone who does not know they have powers," Leo said. "Yes, and it worries me that we haven't seen any form of elemental powers out of control," Kevin said.

"Well you can not blame me, since I already have all my powers," Mia said. "You can still gain a new skill even if your an adult already. Your mother gained her last skill while she was well into her adult age," Kevin said.

Mia looked at Kevin and said, "I know she told me. That's why dad pushed me so hard. The element he was the most worried about was my creative element. My father suspected Sally's test wasn't accurate. He said that he thinks I have multiple mega elements and not just two they were told about," Mia said.

"What did your father mean by that?" Mary Anne asked. "He explained that he thinks my storm element comes from me losing control over my creative element. Combining elements is something I am good at since I was very small. If you combine wind, water and lightning. What do you get?" Mia asked.

"Storm and that's what my father suspected. So he focused on teaching me how to control my powers as separate elements. My strongest element on its own is lightning, followed by wind, water, fire and earth. Dad pushed me really hard. I know I have been lazy at the base. I really need to get back into training all though I have done what I can with what I have. I hope with Bella and being a ranger it might help me get back to training dad said you can never underestimate how important it is to stay in control," Mia said.

"So what else have your father taught you?" Leo asked. "I can read the stars you know use them to navigate all tough I have to say dad taught me many different kinds of survival skills. Some of them he said, saved real lives," Mia said.

"Well I am glad to know that we don't have to worry about training you new skills," Mary Anne said. "No there are things dad could not teach me like surviving a blizzard. He said that some storms can even kill the strongest of elemental users," Mia said.

"Your father is right, it's a warning all rangers should know. Never underestimate a storm," Leo said.

"Can you create cold mist?" Kevin asked out of nowhere. "Yes but dad said to never use it since it can kill someone," Mia said. "He had good reason for saying that?" Kevin said. "Mom sometimes used mist to water the plants though," Mia said.

"That's how we remembered your mother. She would say she was watering the flowers but really she was trying to get some of the members lost in our own backyard. She pulled that stunt on several of the members of clover. They would brag that they couldn't get lost and then they got lost in the backyard of the clover base. It's only when they realised she was the one that got them lost that the members of the base would stop bragging about it," Kevin said.

"Yea no matter how hard she tried she could never get dad lost. He always knew exactly where we were and he trained me but always said that if the mist is too thick to see. Take shelter and know your surroundings. They kidnapped several rare elementals with the help of a skilled mist user. So dad taught me a few skills that I can use," Mia said.

"So your dad told you about the hunters?" Mary Anne said. "Yes, but he also said, he felt sorry for the hunter that came after me. Lightning and mist do not mix," Mia hinted.

"That's dangerous Mia," Mary Anne said. "Yes, and no one can get past that shield not even a skilled Elementalist like my dad," Mia said. "Wait he couldn't get threw your shield," Kevin asked. "Yes, but there is a limit to how long I can use it," Mia said.

"Yes, and depending on how you use it, it can also be dangerous?" Leo said. "Yes but dad always said that instead of picking a fight just leave the room. Anger never solves anything," Mia said.

"True, I think we will get along just fine. Sounds like your father taught you many things. The ranger training program might be boring for you so we will have to find ways to challenge you," Leo said. "Thank you, Leo, since it sounds like she has been well trained we will be sending your team to Clover today but you will remain on stand bye. As you never know when you get a mission. Mia, you have passed your ranger test now for the next two years you will be required to work with Leo here. If you do a good job, you will be rewarded," Mary Anne said.

"Thank you Mary Anne but I don't think we can leave town today," Mai said.

"Why not?" Leo asked.

"My truck is in for repairs we need to wait for it before we can return," Mia said.

"That's right I completely forgot about that one," Kevin replied.

Leo looked at Kevin and said, "wait the great Kevin forgot about something?"
