Morning has come to my utter dismay. I couldn't afford a peaceful sleep last night thinking deeply about how would I go on for today.
Thankfully, a knock on the door finally motivated me to get out of my bed.
Opening the door as expected, Harrison was towering over me with an uninterested look on his face.
"We're going somewhere" he stated momentarily startling me.
"Are you asking me for a date?" I teased jokingly as expected his face contorted into distaste.
"We're visiting one of Gio's business partners and I was commanded to escort you since he's attending an important event" he informed barely hiding his forced volunteerism.
"Just visit? What am I supposed to do?" I asked confused
"You'll hand them an important document, they expected it anyways so basically you won't have to do any unnecessary kinds of stuff" he replied gaining a nod at me.
"Should I dress well?" I asked and he gave me an impatient look
"I'll be down in a minute" I muttered and closed the door on his face.
After showering, I choose to wear the simple white long sleeve bodycon dress and simply tied my hair cleanly on the side. I tried to copy the young Lady's work on my face before and gladly made it. It's quite easy to follow.
I wore my favorite and comfortable two inches heels and finally head down to where Harrison's van is parked.
"Let's go Harry" I called and he turned to me immediately as if annoyed that I called him a nickname. He gazed at me for quite longer than expected and so made me turn to him confused.
"What?" I asked as we sat next to each other.
"What happened to your cheeks?" He asked before accelerating the car.
Oh, I didn't know how to hide this with cosmetics so I had no choice but to cover it with a bandaid.
"You just noticed?" I asked trying to avert the topic
"Obviously " he replied making me glare at the road.
"Well, I'm stupidly playing with my knife last night, and unfortunately" I replied sighing.
He didn't reply but he scoffed like he can't believe how stupid I am. Honestly, I kind of want to kick his face for being so effortlessly rude to me.
Hours had passed, and I didn't have breakfast yet, I wanted to complain but I remembered Harrison is an asshole as well so I just waited till the car pull up.
Finally, the car came to an abrupt halt in front of a well-engineered building and we eventually headed inside to sort out the task.
"You're Giovanni's fiance?" A sophisticated voice came from the woman who had a judging look on her face as she swept her eyes from my top to bottom.
"Arent you just a normal girl? Like an orphan?" She criticizes before turning around and getting out of her swivel chair.
I kept the insults slide and just remained polite in front of her.
"as you can see, his tastes are horrible" I vested and faked a laugh, I could even sense Harrison turned slightly like he wanted to tell me it was not funny.
"Maybe that happens after we broke up, what a pity" she shook her head and still not taking the paper I was lending for who knows how long now.
"Right Harrison? You must've been troubled knowing this woman needed a companion anywhere she went or maybe been a burden to you following her like a dog, isn't it?"
That's it! The smile on my face vanished instantly and ready to slap the folder on her face when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Oh, no Ms. Eresa she's not a burden to me, she's quite-"
"Get off me Harrison, this bitch had enough" I gritted cutting him off.
"Did you just call me bitch?-"
"Yeah, what you gonna do about -"
A hard slap kissed my cheeks and the wound felt like vibrated with the impact. I turned to her smiling like an idiot.
"Not bad" I muttered before slapping her back twice harder with the thick folder making her head rotate most painfully and landing on the tiled floor.
"Ms. Eresa!" Harrison called and assisted the bitch. He turned to me with the deadliest look.
"What?! She slapped me first!" I defended
"Apologize" He hissed
"What?! Didn't you watch what happened?! There's no way I'm asking forgiveness with that low calibrated and fully reconstructed woman" I cursed before walking out of that place.
I get inside the van and waited for Harrison feeling a bit nervous about my situation. Not a few minutes Harrison is gravely heading toward the car and I prepared myself for the worst.
"Did you have the slightest idea of what you have done?!" He yelled as he stepped inside the car.
"No?" I replied, not looking at him, and looked outside
"Of course, you don't! She just called Giovanni and wanted you to get arrested for what stupid thing you had done!" He again blurted making me stiff. Arrested?
"But-but it wasn't my fault! She slapped me first! She insulted me first!" I defended again as he zoomed the road.
He didn't respond at all and just focused on driving fast back home. I kept telling him it wasn't my fault but he'll just glance at me and clenched his jaw.
An hour had passed when we reached home and he drag me out of the car hurriedly.
"Hey! You're hurting me!" I yelled but he didn't listen so I pulled my hand forcefully as we get inside the house.
"Sit down" he gestured towards the couch to where I remembered I stained before.
"What you gonna do?"
"Just fucking sit Khalil! Why are you so annoying?!" He gritted and seriously I feel like it was my first time hearing him casually say my name.
I sat down and watched him go somewhere and left me there alone
"Are you serious?! You're leaving me here without-oh" I cut myself when I saw him reach for the first aid kit in the drawer. What for?
He sat in front of me and take off the band-aid on my cheeks making me flinch away from the sudden sting.
"Stay still, I'll clean it up" he muttered still angry.
"Did it bled awhile back?" I asked lowly but he didn't answer. He tapped the cotton with antiseptic carefully and even just with the light pressure, the impact of the slap and the wound did a great job to make me winced in pain pathetically.
"Her hand almost outlined on your face" he muttered
"I know right, and I know very well what was outlined on her face so don't tell me" I sighed before I noticed a figure standing at the main door.
I went momentarily froze just by realizing who it was but then ignore him right away and took the band-aid that Harrison's about to unleash.
"You haven't applied any ointment yet, move. I'll handle myself" I spoke towards Harrison and he just watched me hesitantly, I gestured for him to stand up since he completely block my way out and he seems too slow to realize.
"Come on virgin Harry, I don't want to start an argument today" I muttered and he immediately got up making space for me realizing what I meant, I get up and headed upstairs when I heard Jarred spoken.
"Conrad, let's talk" he ordered making me stop climbing up and turning to him like nothing happened last night.
"If you're about to tell me that I'm being reported for slapping that bitch's face, I just wanted to defend myself once more. It wasn't my fault, and to be honest if ever I brought a knife with me earlier she must've been trending by now" I stated before continuing to step up. Not minding the two men watching me.
A woman like her that loves to humiliate other women, bragging about their purchased physical attractiveness without acknowledging their mental capacity is a big turn-off for me. That woman dares to slap me when all her being is worth trash.
I hate being a woman but no woman would dare slap my female ego out of my senses.
