"Holy shit!" she heard Wiley exclaim. She went over to Sage and stood over her. "You just did that!"
Sage blinked slowly. Her body felt so heavy. "I think I'm gonna pass out."
Wiley shifted uncomfortably. "Do you need some water?"
Sage nodded, and a few seconds later she heard Wiley open the mini fridge. Wiley handed a bottle to Sage before sitting down next to her.
Sage sat up and gulped down half of it. "We've got to get moving."
Wiley scratched her head. "I don't know about that." She searched Sage's face. "You look really pale."
Sage frowned. How was she supposed to keep doing this if she almost fainted everytime? She figured that that was something she'd have to think about later.
She stood up, and she ignored the corners of her vision blackening. "You go first then."
Wiley glanced at the portal and then back at Sage. "Do I just jump in?"
Sage nodded. "Yup. Easy peasy."
Wiley walked up to the portal, which was by her bed, and peered in. "And it'll take me straight to hell?"
"Yeah. I'll be right after."
Wiley looked at her skeptically.
"Promise."
"Okay," she mumbled. She sucked in a deep breath, and then just jumped in. Sage peered down into the hole in astonishment. She couldn't see anything.
Sage closed her eyes, and began walking until she fell through too, and when she felt the wind rushing through her hair she opened them to the familiar blackness.
This time, she found that she didn't panic at how dark it was, and when she screamed to test if she could hear herself, it was followed by a fit of silent laughter. "Fuck you Luke!" she said to the nothingness.
Shortly after she fell on something solid. She sat for a moment, looking to the right to see if the people near had seen what just happened.
Wiley nudged her with her foot. "Get up!" she urged. She held her hand out.
Sage took it, and when she was standing she immediately got to business. "Follow me." She started walking right. She figured that she'd just ask around until she found Danny. She avoided the first few people she came across, but after they were about a few blocks in she approached a girl who was reading, her red hair curtaining her face.
"Excuse me. Have you seen Danny around?"
The girl looked up. "Danny?..."
Sage glanced at Wiley. She still didn't know his last name. "Black hair, maybe 5'10-5'11?"
The girl's face was still blank.
Sage thought for a moment. She didn't know anything personal enough about him to identify him. She thought of her bizarre dreams, and on impulse spoke. "Watches the ward for Luke?"
"Ohhh Danny Ryan."
Sage nodded as if she knew this was his last name.
"He's teaching shape shifting, I think."
"Thankyou!" Sage told her. The girl rolled her eyes, and Sage took that as her cue to turn back towards Wiley. She grabbed her arm and dragged her further down the path. "Shape shifting has got to be this way."
Wiley moved Sage's hand from her arm. "And how do you know that?"
"Advanced training is this way."
Wiley looked around. "Sage, how long is this going to take?"
"It'll be super quick."
Sage started to make her way down the path, looking for parts along the way that broke into others.
