A LOSER'S END

Leon was sitting at the very edge of the cliff, sobbing of his unwillingness to even end this pathetic life of his.

"So I don't even have the guts to end my life, which I have full control over," Leon says in a self-mocking tone. His existence was already meaningless since he couldn't rescue his sister anymore. All he could do was ask Liam for help, but he was already satisfied with his reply.

"It's good to see that Mia still has a great family left for herself. I just hope Liam becomes so strong that he can dominate the whole world and keep our family safe. I am sorry my brothers and sisters, I am just a piece of trash." Leon spoke while looking angrily towards the skies.

"And who decided that?" A voice sounded from behind him. Liam was standing at the entrance of the top of the cliff, looking angrily at Leon. Before Leon could even exp[lain, he could feel his face punched as he crashed into the ground.

Liam had an irritated expression on his face as he continued to punch Leon's face until it was a bloody mess. he then pulled his collar up and said.

"Who said that this life is yours to take. You have a family of two brothers and three sisters waiting for you at home. This life belongs to them/. How dare you try to take something of ours."

He continued to beat Leon until he was exhausted and threw Leon beside him. Leon laid there looking at the sky.

" I still remember how we aspired to become top hunters together. I remember the promise we made the first time we met, that no matter what happens we will take care of our small family. We have no one else in the world and hence could only rely on ourselves."

"We trained together. I even remember sneaking out at night to train some more. I expected that I would be stronger than you and force you to call me big brother. But I guess fate has something else written in my diary."

"I am sorry to leave you on your journey alone, brother," Leon said to Liam.

Liam's eyes moisten up he heard Leon's words. he understood what sort of psychological impact this incident had on his brother, and it looked like the border line had already been crossed.

"I assure you that I will find a treasure which will make you the strongest hunter in the world. Please believe in your brother for once." Liam begged Leon to reconsider.

"Hope is a very dangerous thing to cling on to. I will give you effective advice today. Work for those things which don't require your hopes to succeed. Hope is a very fragile thing with most of us being unlucky to have encountered it."

"It feels great at first, you might even be motivated and fired up to work for it. But when it breaks it shatters your whole world."

"My existence solely depended on the fact that I would be able to become a hunter and protect you all, but the scene seems to be different from now. I hope you can take care of our younger siblings for me, cause I am leaving this burden on you. " Leon said as he got up and started walking towards the edge of the cliff.

"How could you be so selfish?" Liam asked. "During the whole period of our friendship, it was your goals which we always concentrated on. I was just happy to be there with you. Yet when you burden me with this responsibility, you are thinking of becoming a coward and running away from the situation."

"Is our relationship so meaningless to you?" Liam tried to persuade him while sitting up. Leon turned and looked at Liam's pleading eyes, which kept staring at him. " Just for once grant my wish and prioritize my wantings above yours."

"Thank you for being there for me all this time man. I truly appreciate it and thank god for all of the time we spent together. But each story must come to an end someday, and today is the end of it. I know this is selfish and cowardly, but my situation restricts me from going another way."

"What about Mia? Are you not even going to tell her that you are about to give up on your life? Did she not even deserve to know her brother's actions?" Liam stressed his words.

Leon was once again plunged into the memory of his little sister. he wanted to get the best of the world for her and protect her from the cruelty that humanity presented them with, yet he was powerless to even sustain himself.

"If someday you're able to meet her, tell her I am sorry," Leon said as he turned and began to take his last steps. Liam used his newly awakened magical powers to rush towards Leon, but a sudden crack appeared right in front of Leon's eyes.

A sudden spatial explosion took place, blasting him backward, and Liam was thrown towards the entrance. When the two of them finally caught a view of what it truly was, a giant stood before them.

Leon's body was overtaken by mortal danger, as he tried his hardest to run away, but the Giant's hands suddenly shook beside it, and a large outline hit Leon's body slicing it halfway.

Leon looked at Liam for one last time, as he tried his best to smile.

Liam's face was filled with horror as he saw his best friend's half-cut body, smiling at him. He tried to react but the aura emanated from the Giant was too much.

Leon's body had stuck to the word, which the giant held. He swung it in the direction of the space crack and the dismembered body of Leon was thrown into it.

"No..." Liam's shouts could be heard from behind, yet Leon couldn't see him. He closed his eyes, before saying one last word.

"Bye"
