The celebration didn't stop after the tie of the horseback competition the festivities continued as Brianna slipped away with her ladies as their laughter and the joys filled the marble castle walls. Radiating happiness throughout as guest as felt proud and a sense of peace. For a moment it seemed as it didn't matter there difference- their drawn out history seemed of no importance as they ran down to her chambers for a wardrobe change. Soon another social event in her honor.
Closing the door behind them as they breath breathlessly, attempting to settle down.
Adelaide laid all out on the bed, " I can't believe you guys, tied! I was pretty sure you had him beat." She made know as she turned her head to look out from the window. The sun smiling as they did.
" Well, maybe I would have or maybe we're equals." Brianna gave a hint of what she thought or what appeared true to her. The fresh recent memories of the both of them freely happily enjoying one another's presence. Nothing constraining them, purely both beast in a sense free from the rules of time. The smile on his face that made the thing in her chest swell and palpitate faster than it has ever had. Which was new, nothing of such sort has happened she has felt the thrill of victory, of conquering but of pure equilibrium. Something new, unfound before, like a child with sweets. Wanting more, more and wondering why was it so lovely yet so dangerous for wanting it?
Her thoughts broke as Eliza placed a hand on her small shoulder," My goodness, you guys. Looked perfect couple." Eliza slipped out as Brianna turned her head. The perfect couple, huh? She didn't know whether to feel happy or confused with that statement. But something felt right about it.
Adelaide propped her head up with furrowed brows," Eh, what do you mean perfect couple? Wolf and vampire." Adelaide paused looking at Bri twisting her lips side to side, " No offense but it's already difficult for you to understand your mate is a wolf. Now finding one attractive is just weird."
Brianna chuckled looking at her friend, " I mean I don't know how not to feel offended but I understand what you mean. Never in a million years did I foresee this." She ran her hand through her slightly disheveled brunette locks.
" Yeah, and that's you have the power to see." Adelaide remind her of her oddity, look it had been quiet useful in the past.
" True, true." She began as Eliza helping take off her garments. " But is not like I'm omnipotent, nor the almighty creator. I'm just a regular creature who happens to be a hybrid."
" A blessed creature." Adelaide emphasized.
Eliza gave out a baby laugh as Bri perked her brow never heard such a noise from her lady. Sounding like a baby whale than a mermaid. " I mean agree with Bri, visions aren't forced. They come as they please. Trust me I know." She said sincerely as being a mermaid also made her a seer. Although not all mermaids were seers, nor all seers mermaids. Seers were special born individuals with the gift to see the future before it has happened or see things others cannot.
" Still, Team Ambrose!" Ambrose hollered flying her hand in the air as Bri bit her lip.Even if Michael was her destined mate, Ambrose could also be. A mate doesn't always have to be destined but as well as chosen from the heart. But what would she choose . She didn't want to play with their feelings not knowing her own. Though how will she know what she truly felt. She didn't have to play with them, she could get to know them. If possible. A hint of something sparkled in her eyes as Adelaide caught it. " Your eyes just tinkled. Does that mean you want Ambrose?" She exclaimed asking all the questions Bri just harbored.
Brianna cheeks became flushed at the thought. A ha came from Adelaide as she held her victory high as she sighed embarrassingly, " If you want me to look pretty for Ambrose than do you magic work." She cheekily stated as Adelaide eyes showed almost all white as she got her dress ready.
Zipping her in her royal blue dress made of chiffon and silk. The a-line one shoulder dress was much less luxurious but easy to move in as the slit along the side exposed the skin of her leg greatly. Just teasing a touch. Still enough to keep her grace.
Nodding to proceed leaving her room and onto the grand hall where all had already gathered. Eyes went on her. Wearing such a color that was normally a no-no because it stood for the wolves. But if she were going to follow through with the First's wishes for a better future the wandering eyes wouldn't bother as much. They had already been there.
Arriving in the middle she bowed her head to both their Majesties as they dismissed her making her way to a familiar face with diamond eyes that glowed among st the crowd. A bright warm welcoming smile splattered across his ivory face. " Ambrose." She called out as he immediately bowed his head bring her hands to his lips placing a swift peck on her hands. As if they have never left.
" Brianna, you look..... lovely" He paused as taking her all in. " Lovely is the least I can compliment."
Brianna grinned ear to ear feeling his purest affections rub off on her like a drug, " Thank you, Ambrose. You flatter me like always." She said shyly. He always made her feel so safe.
Quickly closing his mouth as he downturned his lips. Something was wrong. He was nervous, and felt guilt she catch radiating off him, " By the way I am sorry about early, I meant no ill tend." Ambrose apologized once more as Brianna brought her hand up to stop him.
" It's okay, Ambrose. Honestly, I knew you meant no disrespect." She explained.
He breathed a sigh of relief, his eyes once more sparkling to the great diamonds they reflected. " I'm glad you understand. I just am very enamored for you. I- I mean.." He trailed off as Brianna mouth fell agape. Enamored. Did he just confess his feelings? The heat rushing to her cheeks confirmed something that she felt similar. Was this the same thing he felt? His cheeks were a shade of rose that displayed it. Is this the bond of a mate?
Meanwhile across the room Michael stood face to face with the vampire from earlier. His facial features similar to his mate- to Brianna. Dark chocolate hair, fair skin, lean, tall, visible worn battle scars. Yet in his stare stood defiance, revenge, provocation as he tilted his head. A smirk crawling upon his face, sending the biggest screw you without words. Although Michael did not want to start anything. He couldn't help his Alpha self starting to get riled up by his incompetence.Thankfully more man than beast, and not allowing himself to act irrationally he stood back. Better for everyone's safety. But his ocean eyes never turning away.
Her train of thought was soon interrupted, "Excuse me." Adelaide cut in as Ambrose chattered down, leaning into her ear whispering her concern. " Your cousin, Prince Ethan is attempting to start something with Prince Michael."
Brianna eyes fluttered to her cousin standing face to face with Michael. Sipping on his wine like a drunken bastard. Staring shamelessly opening testing how far he could go until he snapped. Did he have no respect for the kingdom's image? " How dare he, again?" She thought walking over as Brianna placed a firm hand on his visible chest as he glared upon her with the furies of his might, " Cousin, whatever you're thinking don't." She warned as she slightly pushed him back.
He cocked his brow ever so slightly squinting back at her, " What exactly am I doing wrong now, cousin?"
Brianna clicked her tongue whispering lowly into his ear, " You know exactly what you are doing. You are attempting the Prince who is an alpha to a challenge. You know he wouldn't be able to back down so you seemingly do it to look like as if it were they doing." She slightly turned her face towards Michael who fixed his gaze on them.
" He's doing the same."
" Because you are pushing him."
" Why are you on his side?"
" I'm on the side of peace. I just want peace for my celebration that's all."
Ethan held her hand pressing harshly as their coffee eyed battle one another " And that gives you the right to wear such a color. To mock us. To disgrace us. You side with them being one of us." His voice with full of anger.
People began to stare, not wanting it to linger she didn't want more conflict." Stop it." Brianna hissed. " Don't make me command you."
He let go of her hand as she snatched it back seeing light finger prints reminding. Backing away as she returned to the conversation with Ambrose. Time had slipped by, talking about minimal entertaining things they both shared in common. Her cousin seemed of no importance until.
A flicker in her eyes told her what would happen next. But she wouldn't allow it. She couldn't. The glass in her hand crashed into the floor spilling the blood red wine onto the floor. Her feet moving consciously as the wings of a bird, without hesitation, all on instinct. Flashing over to Michael's side throwing her hand out as it met with her cousins scarred cold chest as he flew backwards. She couldn't believe he dare to even after she warned him. The room didn't even have time to adjust as both royals seemed head to head. Their Princess had just saved the enemy Prince yet harmed one of her own.
She didn't even turn her head. Her eyes were locked on the idiot laying in front of her. Those windows to the soul illuminated as the sun breaking day.
The destructive force in her palms withered with something more than anger. It was that. Maybe. But something much much more . " I told you don't, cousin." She spoke in a voice that could make the walls tremble.
OOOHHH!! WHATS NEXT! Ethan versus Bri! Family fight! Will Michael interfere? Stay tuned
