The New Audition

"Do you take me as a punch bag?" Liam blocked a punch coming at him as he staggered two steps back.

Ryan did not say anything as he continued throwing punches as if he was Santa Claus throwing chocolates to kids on a Christmas day.

"Focus." Ryan stared at Liam who was just taking punches. "Do you want to be a punch bag that much?"

Without waiting for him to answer, Ryan snickered. "Then be my guest."

"Are you a monster??" Liam gasped trying to take a breather after the spar.

They had met in one of the dojo where they normally fought with each other. The old man who ran it was also familiar with them so he saw no problem with them using it when they wanted.

Closing the zip of the wind sitter he had brought Ryan sat on the cold floor beside Liam who lied down on the floor.

"So, what's the matter?" Liam sat up and asked.

Considering how he ran all the way here leaving a sick person in the hospital he hoped the reason better be good.

*Silence*

Liam, "..."

"Speak something you little brat." Liam urged Ryan to speak who was staring at the ground with his head bowed down.

After a moment of another silence he finally spoke.

"Brother." Ryan spoke in a low voice just like he always did, the only difference was that he sounded exhausted this time.

Ryan rarely called Liam brother unless it was really something serious. Although Liam and Ryan normally acted like friends, Liam was still older than Ryan by around 2 years.

"Hmmm..I am listening." Liam was ready to hear what he wanted to share.

Ryan took a long breathe as if making up his mind to speak about something but then just gave out a long sigh.

"Nothing…" Ryan shrugged his shoulder swallowing down what he was about to say.

'Whack'

Liam whacked the back of his head with his knuckles, veins popping up in them.

"Spill it out or you are going to get another one." Liam held his hand in a fist near his head ignoring the deathly glare of the man who was staring at him with his deep dark eyes.

Even if Ryan was better than Liam when it came to fighting Liam was still the senior between them.

"It's about my Grandpa." Ryan finally opened his mouth but he could not continue after that and only let out a small sigh.

Liam could understand what he wanted to say by just hearing the word grandpa.

"Is he forcing you to give up on acting?"

"Yes.." Ryan nodded his head.

"And he is also asking you to either leave ST company or maybe even asking you to merge it with the main company??" Liam asked as he deduced how the clever old man would try to pressurize Ryan.

"Ahhah.." Ryan once again nodded his head in agreement with what he had said.

"Wow, that old man is truly something." Liam tossed around on the ground trying to find the perfect place and position to lie down.

"That sneaky side of his, he still had not changed one bit." Liam mumbled as he remembered something form the past.

"I am going." Ryan stood up suddenly and walked towards the exit of the dojo. Liam knew how guilty Ryan felt to this day regarding the accident no matter how much he said it was not his fault.

Getting kidnapped as a kid and being held hostage was not his fault. Watching his parents getting slaughtered right before his eyes was not his choice. But all of these things he took it upon himself bearing all the burden and responsibilities.

"He needs someone who can help him take off the burden….Tch…that guy might burn out before he even reaches 30." Liam was not cursing but more like contemplating on the fact.

"This Ryan, the little guy in the hospital and the contract girl Lucia." Liam counted the three names on his finger. All three of them were younger than him in succession.

"I am feeling more and more like an old guy running a nursery…Goshh.."Liam fell on his back thinking about things, his eyes had complex and complicated emotions in them.

What he was thinking?? No one knows for sure.

"What were you doing all night?? You have some crazy eye bags under your eyes." Harith looked at her heavy bags and dark circles amusedly.

"Don't even ask me. You won't understand it anyway."

Lucia had stayed up all night making timelines, writing down everything she knew from politics to game scores, stock market to the real estates. She even cracked her brain to remember the lucky lottery numbers.

In other word she knew more than 50 % of the future, she was no longer a human. She had become a fortune teller with all these knowledge.

Lucia felt a smug show up in her face unconsciously.

"What about your friend Lucia??" Harith had been worried about the girl since she said something about being sick.

"I don't know about her….." Lucia nonchalantly shrugged her shoulder.

"Hmmm..okay.." Harith this time did not say anything since he knew there was something off about the girl when they visited the house of Lucia

"Will the professor be absent today??" Harith asked Sam with puppy eyes. He missed out on the fun the day before so he wanted to hang out with them today as a compensation for yesterday's loss.

"He might." Sam answered silently.

"Hey, want to bet?" Lucia wanted to check whether the incidents were either same as in her past life or not. She wanted to do a test drive of the information she had collected.

Both of them nodded their head.

"I bet he is coming." Lucia directly laid out her card as soon as they agreed.

"Ahhhh…." Sam was a little hesitant to choose the option.

"The professor had to extend his leave because he is not well yet." The class president announced from the podium.

"Wahahaha…I choose he is not coming." Harith directly betted on the fact Professor was going to be absent. "Lucia your luck sucks." Harith gave a low laughter.

"I support the second clause." Sam spoke giving a merry smile. "Your luck really does suck, hehe."

"Hmphhh…"

"You will see…" Before Lucia could even complete her sentence the professor came running inside the classroom. He was huffing and puffing meaning he either was sick or ran up to the university.

But he was both, he was sick as well as he came to the class running.

Sam and Harith looked squinting their eyes at the professor.

"...."

"...."

Lucia gave a victory smirk.

"Ehhh….but the class rep said something else." Harith who was about to ask the winning money was left hanging on the air with his hand in the mid air.

Lucia knew what this class was about and she was waiting for this more than ever.

"Ahemm….." The old professor cleared his throat.

"There had been sudden change in plans regarding the annual film audition." The professor took out a brochure.

"The date has been changed for the audition along with the main theme." He waved the fine and attractive brochure from where he was standing.

The whole crowd gasped in a low voice. The film audition was like a fast pass to the acting course taking students. Of course they were surprised with the news.

.

.

Finally getting everyone's attention, the professor further spoke.

"The movie will be funded by ST Company…" The professor observed every one's reaction.

"It is a well known fact that ST Ent. is a bigshot in Entertainment Industry."

"Which means in other words the one who does well in this audition can think their life and career as set." The professor handed the form to the class rep to distribute it to all.

"Its a big chance so I suggest everyone to take part."

"And by this I will give you a big spoiler." The professor acted mysterious before he finally let out the surprise.

"It has been announced that the movie emperor; Ryan Nicholas is also the part of this movie."

"What?? No way…"

"Is it truth??? Cause if it is I am totally joining the audition."

"I will even take the role of a garbage collector as long as I can play in a movie with him."

Everyone was excited about the new change in the plans except Lucia who already knew what was about to happen to a certain degree.

"Those who want to take this chance; you should hand in the form by tomorrow." The professor eyed everyone and seeing their excited faces and enthusiasm he left satisfied.

"Kids, walk your own path with your own choice." Mumbling softly he exited the classroom. He still had to take meds to get better.

The batch this year had many kids with potential. He too was looking forward to seeing who makes it top among such harsh competitors.
