Chapter 20 Gacha

Sharon was drifting away in her thoughts, while the bell rang.

Ben and everyone else was starting to move out.

"Kelly, Can I talk to you for a second", called Sharon. Kelly asked her friends to go and wait at the entrance hall where everyone in their group had agreed to meet up and she went inside the class to talk with the teacher.

The whole school was very very huge and was made in the shape of a hexagon and each block which consisted of the blocks for different year students were also made in the shape of hexagons and every block had 3 floors. The entrance of the school is also a hexagonal block with some benches on the side, people didn't sit there often. Everyone can move to different classes either through elevators in separate blocks or through stairs. People will often get confused when moving in for their classes if they didn't read the indicators on the walls properly. On the first floor of the entrance hall was the library and on the second floor was the special classes room and above that floor was the principal room.

Ben, Max, and Jasmine slowly moved towards the entrance and they saw Ricky and Li Shin waiting for them at one of the benches. As they were moving towards the bench, Ben received a text on his smartwatch. He opened the message and it was from his dad.

"Ben, I am happy to hear you have made some friends on your first day, Sure, I'll teach them too, let's have classes tomorrow morning, We will discuss changing the timing if anyone feels inconvenient.

Ben went and sat with everyone, they started discussing what happened in their classes. Ricky told everyone, how grumpy instructor Karl acted the entire session, everyone had a good laugh. Max told everything which happened in the mod class, everyone had a laugh after Max mimicked the look on the student's face in class and everyone had a good laugh again.

Kelly slowly came towards them with a smile on her face, she didn't say what happened in the class with the teacher. Ben slowly told everyone that his dad approved the classes and told them the details about the class, everyone felt happy and thanked Ben. Everyone got up to move towards the library, as some wanted to know more about the different types of cyborg mods available and it was not available in the Digi-book.

They got to the library and were about to enter when Max stopped them and said "Take a look over there, is that the gacha machine mam told us in the class", pointing towards a machine with a label on the top and the words 'Gacha' written.

There was no one around the machine, it was a huge machine slumped over the wall in the corner.

They went near the machine and Max was the first one to touch the interface of the machine. Some weird noises came from the machine and a light shot out from it and everyone looked at each other as they didn't know what to do. The machine started to speak,

"Scan complete, Max Gunner do you wish to spin your free spin of this year?".

"Yes", replied Max slowly looking back at his friends nervously.

Whirring noises came out of the machine and a small door opened in front of the machine, a big cylinder-shaped structure fell out of the machine and some strange numbers were written on it. Max went near the box and opened it, inside the box, there was a small cylindrical handle glowing with a light yellowish color and a manual on its side. The machine gave out some sound and it said, "Please put the cylindrical storage unit in the dimensional storage available at the right corner after you have taken out the mod ".

As the knowledge on dimensions increased humans were also able to create a dimensional storage device to store their things, they were able to make cans, pockets, bags, advanced watches, etc which can be made to hold things.

Most of the things people used for storage were dimensional storage units. Each highly advanced storage unit can create access to a dimensional room which can be accessed through command by the owner and even living things can be made to stay inside them for some time with proper resources for survival. Cans, pockets, and bags are cheaper and are easily available and they can store very fewer amount things, but other customized storage units were really hard to come by, and the smaller the device the higher the cost. Bags that students used were dimensional storage devices and they are readily available and cheap.

Everyone heard what the machine said and looked at the right corner and a small disc-like weighing machine could be seen over there. Max went near the machine and placed the cylindrical storage unit on the machine and it disappeared. Max then looked at the manual in front of his hand and it was written

A-grade lightsaber. "An A-grade lightsaber! let me test it out", exclaimed Max in joy and supplied some of his mod energy to the cylinder-shaped mod in his hand and a 1 m long silver light blade appeared in front of him. Everyone looked at the lightsaber and congratulated Max and they were happy that their friend got a good and rare mod, as lightsaber limb mods were really hard to acquire and were not easily found.

"Move, let me try my ", said Jasmine, who was the most talkative one in the group.

Everyone left way for Jasmine, " Scan complete, Jasmine Ray do you wish to spin your free spin of this year? and the same process was repeated and she acquired a B-grade gravity control mod, which allows her to control gravity over some area for a limited amount of time, it was a body mod and was fitted in her body. She shouted in joy and moved over to let her friends try their hand.

Ricky got a B-grade stun ray mod which was also a body mod. Kelly got an A-grade flight booster mod which was also a body mod and helps to fly.

Li was eager to go next, after seeing his friends. Li got an S-grade Strength arms mod, which boosted combat Strength by several folds. Everyone congratulated Li as he had got a very good mod for combat.

Ben slowly went towards the gacha machine, Everyone was eager about what Ben would get, as he was the last one to try in their group.

Ben went and placed his hand on the interface.

"Scan complete, Ben chase do you wish to spin your first free spin of this year?", asked the system.

"Yes", replied Ben. The machine went silent and didn't show any response for some time, everyone looked at the machine anxiously. Suddenly the small door in front of the machine opened and a small ball the size of a football rolled out.
