Chapter 21 One eye

Suddenly the small door in front of the machine opened and a small ball the size of a football rolled out.

Everyone looked at the ball with curiosity, because it was different than other storage devices.

Ben slowly picked the ball-like storage unit up and opened it. A golden light emitted out of it after it got opened, so everyone couldn't see what was in it. Suddenly, the light disappeared and a metallic eyeball was present inside it.

Ben didn't understand what was in front of him, as he was not familiar with the different types of mods and there was no manual inside the box and also the gacha machine didn't say anything about placing the storage unit on the storage space. Ben looked at everyone to ask about it, as he didn't know what was in his hands, they also shrugged and said they didn't know what it was. So Ben had no choice but to save it in his school bag and research on it before assimilating with it.

Everyone wanted to get assimilated with the cyborg mods they got, so they thought of leaving to the nearest assimilation center. Kelly said she got some work to do and got ready to leave home. Ben reminded everyone about the martial arts classes the next day morning. Ben didn't want to assimilate with his mod before knowing about it, so he thought he would research about his mod first in the library and then assimilate with it.

The other four left together to the assimilation center and Kelly left to go home.

In every assimilation center, mods were converted into nanites with a disintegrator, which breaks down the mods and makes them easily absorbed into the bloodstream, and becomes functional when supplied with mod energy. (Some external tech is placed on students till the age of 12 to help them control the flow of mod energy into a specific mod in their body, this helps them keep their appearance in check, as supplying mod energy without control to every cell in the body makes a person appearance change completely, even though it's temporary the person may sometimes lose control over his body and damage the surroundings. )

Ben stayed at the library and started researching the different mods and searched every book in it for a long time. The librarian called out to Ben and said "I am sorry kid, but I am going to close the library as it is time for me to go home". Ben didn't have a choice but leave for home.

Even though the internet was easily accessible to everyone and loads of information can be found on it, information about cyborg mechanisms, the history of humankind, and cyborg mods can only be accessed by books as the world government thought that books were more informative and helped in improving the imagination of the readers without many distractions and in turn, it helped in increasing the control of mod energy and mods, as one's imagination plays a key role in it.

On the way home, he thought of researching about it in the central library. He went to the library and asked the librarian, Miss Polly, about finding the book on all cyborg mods, she said she didn't know much about it, but she guided Ben to a search machine, which was capable of sorting words and finding books in the library and she left as she had other work to do.

Ben booted the machine and typed the words, ' Metal eye '. The machine searched for some time and millions of searches were shown to Ben, Ben used the sort function and sorted out the searches belonging to cyborg mods. A single search appeared before him, and it showed the words,

'Bionic eyes'.
