Dormitory

The instructors assigned him a smart ID card and uploaded the details, along with the ID, in his smartwatch.

Ben was still thinking about what had happened during the test, and when the instructors told him to leave for his dormitory, he reluctantly left.

Ben slowly walked towards his dormitory.

The instructors had only given him a brochure which had the map of the academy with a note written,

'We request everyone to make themselves available at 7:00 am at the auditorium .At 8:00 am you will be allowed to have breakfast in the cafeteria and classes would start at 9:00 am. The schedule and instructions have been posted in your assigned rooms. If you have any inconveniences or grievances please mention it to your tutor who would be assigned to you within tomorrow.'

"The map is pretty huge , I hope the rooms are bigger enough for me and Oreo", thought Ben slowly moving towards the room, while memorizing every crook and crannies of the map in his hand as it would be easier for him in the future to move around the academy.

Ben's assigned room was six floors up, so he walked savoring everything around him, trying to forget what had happened during the test.

The whole academy was way too huge. The map showed that the main building had 30 floors and was filled with the classrooms and the labs.

It was also connected to four different dormitories in a separate building with 30 floors, and they were connected through bridges.

The bridges were seriously awesome; they were very wide as if you could run two hover bus on them side to side, they were made up of drupinium; they were completely covered like rooms ,and looked like connection stations in shuttles and were to see through even the floor was transparent.

Ben could see everything by standing inside the bridge. He could see the grounds, the evenly spaced trees and other small facilities.

After sightseeing all the things, trying to guess out what every building was, as they did not mention some in the maps, the bridge from the main building was about 500 m leading to the central.

Ben slowly moved towards the solid center connection of the bridges.

He entered the center of the connector connecting the four bridges. The connector was entirely opaque and was fully white.

"Wow!, I think you can fit 12 hover buses in here." Blurted out Ben loudly, seeing the large pure space in front of him.

A voluptuous beauty, wearing a secretary uniform, came near him, hearing the noise.

'I am Serra, an AI humanoid assistant. How may I help you?'

'Wow, if it didn't say it was an android, I would have thought it was a woman. How much money did the government spend for these places', thought Ben, staring at the woman in front of him.

'Mmm hmm', coughed the android, trying to get Ben to focus.

'Sorry mam, I want to go to my dormitory, forgot which color it is can you help me find it.'

'Can you give me your ID number?'

'Sure.' Ben tapped his ID card, and it appeared as a hologram in front of him.

The android scanned the ID.

'We have assigned you to the yellow dormitory, room number six one eight, please proceed to the first bridge door to the left corner.

Ben also remember that you can always access this information from the academy management service - A.M.S ,even the things on the brochure and the map too they are installed inside your smartwatch.'said the android.

'The instructors purposely didn't say they added this info to my smartwatch, and it was available to me. The looks on their faces when they gave me the assessment marks..... Argh, ….that guys didn't like me'.

'Can you tell me more about the dormitories', asked Ben, as the info was not completely given in the brochure?

The android looked at him for some time as if it was checking whether he was lying.' The instructors really said nothing, well that's not new. Well, the dormitories are 30 floored buildings as big as the main building.

There are four different dormitories, Yellow, blue, red and purple.

As I said before to your left corner the first door leads to Yellow , the next to blue , the next red and finally the purple.

The yellow dormitory is for support class students, the blue for flight class students, the red for fighter class students and the purple for elite students.

In the dormitories only the first fifteen floors are allotted to students as rooms, each floor has eighteen rooms, which means Ben you got the 18th room in the sixth floor. They also have break room, labs, and other games center on each room.

The remaining floors are filled with big high-tech labs and tech, along with student rooms. The staff rooms are also present there.

They give those who show extraordinary talents and outperform their peers a chance to shift and use the rooms on sixteenth floor and above.

The more their performance, the higher the floor, the higher the facilities.'explained the womanly android in a calm and clear voice.

'Nice', said Ben.

After hearing what the android said, he bid her goodbye and went to the first bridge door.

The door was closed,

'Should I knock on it', thought Ben and went closer.

Suddenly, he heard a voice out of nowhere.

'User data added to library. Ben chase I am John, sentry AI, guardian of Bridge door to yellow.

For security, the door is locked after entry, and a password must be provided to open it.

The password changes daily so that the security of the dormitory is not compromised.

Your dorm rooms are also protected using biometrics, so only you can open them.

Please open the dormitory system service for finding out the password. I can't let you in unless you say the password.'

Ben operated through his watch and found out the password.

'Kowalski', said Ben silently that only the door could hear.

'Good work Ben, access granted', said John, the sentry AI, and the door opened up for Ben.

'How cool is that? It is like the old Harry Potter classics which I read', thought Ben.

He stepped on the floor in front of him. This floor was not transparent like the other bridge floor through which he entered.

'Zing board activated state your room number'

'Six, one, eight', said Ben.

'Zing boards! I have seen them only in movies. This is my first time using one.'thought Ben, awestruck by the function which was available to him.

A small square board fitting the size of Ben cut itself off from the floor and moved towards the destination.

Within a matter of minutes, Ben was at the doorstep.

The floor on which his room was situated was pretty big.

'Ah, here it is, room number 618'.said Ben, seeing the room in front of him.

Ben placed his fingerprint on the biometric provided I. the doorknob and the door opened for him.

It was a very huge room. With a huge king-size bed , a table ,a cleaner bot, a closet, a lamp and a huge instruction monitor fitted with an alarm.

It also had a small bathroom fitted with shower. There was also a room for Oreo named beast room, the name (Oreo) was placed on the door. It had everything a beast needed, a big bed, a cleaner bot, a beast caretaker bot and a small space for toilet.

'Even though it is lot smaller than the beast portal space, I am sure he would love it.'said Ben as he summoned Oreo out of his portal.
