Ben slowly entered the academy.
The atmosphere was lively there. Even though it was nighttime, the entrance was really crowded.
Students were walking and chatting everywhere.
The lighting system made it seem as if it was a day.
Ben could see a huge board in front of him, 'Skyler Military Academy'.
'Skyler... Skyler, I think I have heard the name somewhere.....', thought Ben while following the drafters, who urged him to hurry.
Ben was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans. He was strolling towards the entrance to the interior of the academy.
There were a lot of girls, sitting and chatting on benches .
Some were looking at Ben to see who the handsome newcomer was.
Ben looked at them and scratched his head awkwardly, as it had been 5 years since he had seen or properly talked to a girl his age.
He gave a slight smile and quickly entered the building.
The girls looking at Ben slightly giggled.
'Phew, looks like I still have to change a lot, thought Ben, slowly following the drafters into a small room.
The drafters asked Ben to leave his luggage in the dormitory storage system.
He quickly placed it inside a small door in the room as instructed, and his luggage slowly disappeared out of sight.
The drafters quickly transformed back into their original form. They had maintained their cyborgized form for at least 3 hours, the entire travel it took them to reach here.
He didn't see the place that he was being drafted to, as they brought him in a fully covered prisoner van as if he was one.
He was the only recruit;they brought to the academy today.
But Ben was sure they had maintained the cyborgized form for over 3 hours, which proved they were not normal cyborgs, as it was no ordinary feat.
It took a lot of mod energy to maintain this form.
The drafters changed back and seemed completely normal, as if the cyborgized form had not taxed their energy.
They were three men and a woman. Their genders were not identifiable to Ben in their cyborgized form.
The woman pressed a button on her watch, and her dress color changed into a red and golden combat suit.
' Wow… Beautiful….', these words escaped Ben's mouth even before he could hold it in.
The woman chuckled. The three men were glaring at Ben, but they said nothing.
They asked Ben to follow them again.
This time, it was a big room. With strange machines placed here and there, and in the center of the room, there was a glowing orb.
The woman slowly walked to the glass wall behind the orb and pressed some buttons on the machinery placed behind the glass wall.
The orb gave out a light greenish glow, and it turned completely black.
'Boy, place your hand on the orb', said one man.
Ben slowly moved near the orb and placed his hand on the orb.
Everyone was waiting expectantly for what the result would be.
The color of the orb changed from black to green then to sky blue, then to red and then brown, then it gave out a golden color… slowly the color changed, and the orb completely became black.
Everyone was closely looking at the orb and when it turned black, this is the 132nd time this had happened at the academy testing
Everyone who gets this color doesn't have any affinity for elements. There were some exceptions, which they didn't know how to determine.
Ben knew it was bad news, seeing the reaction on the faces of the drafters.
'I knew this kid was awful when we got the news that he just woke from coma and that we needed to draft him', whispered one drafter.
'Black… after spending all our day for finding him and taking him here, and he is worthless.....', whispered another.
'He is also the only student whom we drafted this entire day. What's his family number?'.
'He is from family No.0'
'No.0, that bunch .....argh, won't they say this before we went to take him? This idiot is worthless …'.
"Well, I already mentioned his family number in the report. I guess you didn't read it before going to find him".
And the three men drafters started bickering.
Meanwhile
The woman was having a confused look on her face.
She was a recruit who had joined last year. After excelling in her training, she got a job as the teacher of the academy and because of her abilities; she also got the authority to manage the drafters, and also be one of them, and she had already been there for every test taken this year.
Among the 132 people who got the reading of black in the orb, she knew that the reading which she got from Ben was different.
'The elemental power meter got stuck to 100, then why does it still stay in the color black?' thought the beautiful woman, as she didn't know what to do.
The report she got from the system also gave the same result, saying Ben didn't possess any elemental affinity.
She quickly took a copy of the report and sauntered towards the bickering men.
As soon as they saw her, they quickly stopped bickering.
'So what division should we place him in?', she asked, looking boldly towards the men and also towards Ben.
'Mam, I think we should also place this kid in the commoner support class, as he has no affinity for elements.' said one drafter.
The other two men agreed with him.
She knew this would be their decision, and she also wanted that as she was an instructor for support class, and it would be easier for her to monitor the strange boy.
Ben heard them and saw them whispering, bickering, and then finally agreeing on a decision.
They told him their decision and Ben reluctantly agreed to it.
Ben wanted to be a fighter, not a support person, but now he couldn't do anything to change their decisions.
But none knew that the readings and the color the orb showed were something only people with affinity to all the elements could achieve.
