"Hell no!" Aether shouted. The sound barrier spell he cast before had proven to be a perfectly wise choice already. "I am NOT letting that happen!"
Iris remained silent. She knew this would be his reaction, and she had warned Madam Yotsura about the possibility, yet once she decided on something, it was a nigh impossible task to change the Madam's mind.
"I'm sorry – I really tried to convince her otherwise." She spoke with a low voice. "But she wouldn't budge. I even offered to visit home, Aether. You know how much that would mean to her."
The young man's eyes shot open. "You did what now?" He exclaimed. "No. No, no." He shook his head vigorously. "That is just as bad of an idea as this – don't ever offer something like that before letting me know first!" He held his head in his hands.
Iris hesitated. This sight wasn't one she often got to see – a perplexed and worried Aether. The young man usually remained composed and calm even in terrible situations.
