Daniel's POV:
Daniel took a step up the slope. He thought his foot had clinged onto the slope and Daniel lifted his other foot up to continue the climb. But he was wrong. The second he lifted his other foot, he slipped and fell, tumbling to his death. "Help" he screamed. But the other heroes couldn't hear him.
But before he could plunge to his death, Daniel felt something wrap around his waist. Daniel noticed that is was a long line of ivy. 'Catherine' Daniel thought. 'I owe her one' he thought without much doubt. He was taken all the way back up, and plopped him onto the ground with a THUD!
Daniel took a gulp of air. That whole incident, Daniel couldn't breathe. The other heroes ran to his side. "That was close!" said Myra, in a worrying tone.
"Yeah" Daniel responded, stretching his arms and legs. The heroes continued to climb the mountain. When they were three quarters of the way, Daniel could see the light from the peak glowing even brighter. Daniel was relieved to know they had made it. 'If ony Bonnie was here' Daniel thought 'She could have quickly found out what this is' Daniel gave the others a hand up the peak. He turned around and saw a row of small pillars. Catherine and the others were hauled up. She gasped when she saw the pillars. "They're shrines" she whispered. "Shrines?" repeated the question with confusion...
"Yeah, when heroes decades ago got a quest, our ancestors, the creators, would create shrines that contain things that will help them on their quest. But I've never seen ten seperate mini shrines before." she said. "If heroes succeeded on their quest, they would thank them with offerings"
"Ten shrines, ten heroes, one for each of us?" questioned Igor.
The heroes walked towards the shrines, fearing that something would happen. But as they got closer, the shrine started to glow brighter. Daniel thought the sight was beautiful. As he got closer, he could see that there was a box inside each shrine. He examined them and found that there was a midnight black shrine with Darkness written on it in curly letters.
He could see that each one contained a box, but he couldn't get close to any of the other heroes' boxes. A magical border surrounded it, preventing it from falling into the wrong hands. But before Daniel could inspect his box, Catherine said something:
"Oh, and the shrines are usually protected by a beast, protecting it from evil..." she said. Everyone of them stood there silently. They tilted there heads towards Catherine and stared at her, like she just talked in another language.
A "ROAR" pierced through the air. Daniel froze. He was saying something, but his voice got drowned by the Roar of... something...
The noise was coming from behind him. He turned around slowly...
