Sticky situation

Daniel POV:

Daniel didn't feel right. His head was throbbing and his eyes felt tired. He was talking to Alicia about the problem with crossing a small desert section when his mind zoned out. Then suddenly, he was talking to Dennis. It happened out of nowhere.

He told the others and they were just as surprised. "Lucky" said Igor, "How come you guys get to talk telepathically" Daniel smiled. It was a bit strange. It seems as if he was the centre of everything. He knew it was because he was the child of Darkness, but he decided to think positively.

"So, how to we get across, the desert around these parts are very dangeros" Catherine said. They stood in a line, facing the desert in front of them. "We have to go through and hope for the best" Daniel said, grudgingly.

"Are you crazy?" Catherine said. Daniel knew this was going to happen. "Daniel's right" Klara said. "Yeah" said Edger. Daniel was glad that Klara and Edger was agreeing with him, otherwise Catherine would have killed him.

"Fine" Catherine said, red in the face. They made their way across the desert...

But before they got a quarter of the way, Klara saw a huge crocodie and screamed. "It's fine" Catherine said, continuing down the desert. "Don't be scared" she said, teasing Klara. Klara crossed her arms and followed the other heroes.

Igor lagged behind, but nobody took notice when he suddenly disappeared. They suddenly heard a scream coming from behind them. They rushed back, finding the screaming figure. Igor was sinking into the sand rapidly. The heroes paniced, trying to get him out, whilst trying to keep away from it too.

Igor was sinking in deeper and deeper. Soon, it was halfway up his torso. Klara tried loosening the quick sand, but it just made it worse. Igor shouted things at them, crying for help. Catherine tried to pull him up with vines. But it was no use. It could have worked, but the quick sand is pulling him in quiker than she was pulling Igor out.

Then, all sound disappeared. Igor felt the quick sand freeze. Everything around them suddenly stopped. They were confused. "Hello" said a voice. It was a female. They turned around and saw a woman standing in front of them. The woman radiated power.

"I thought I would drop by and help" she said. "Catherine, why don't you try pulling it now" she said. "How do you-" Catherine said. "Questions later..." the woman said. Catherine nodded. She turned around and vines grew from the sand.

She coiled it around Igor, who was starting to panic. Sweat was pouring from his neck. She put all her mind into it, commanding the vines to pull Igor out. But it didn't work. But something started to chance. The vines grew thicker, larger and larger. More vines started to grow.

Daniel knew that Catherine could only summon three or four vines at a time, but eight or nine started to pop up from the ground. Soon, Catherine and Igor was surrounded by vines. The nature girl's face was tomato red, A green aura surrounded her.

The heroes watched her in awe. She pulled, this time, with 10 vines. Igor started to get pulled up. It was like the sand was obeying her will. It started to give in and suddenly, Igor popped up from the quick sand, flying through the air and landing on the ground.

Catherine feel over from the momentum. She looked bright red and she started to sway. She fained...
