The creatures made a shrieking sound that made Daniel clench his teeth. "What are those things?" asked Klara. "No clue" replied Dennis. Daniel saw Bonnie running towards them. She was back in an instant. "Darklings!" she shouted. "The Dark Lord's creatures" she said with disgust.
"We've got to kill them" Daniel shouted. Everyone stared at him. "How?" asked Alicia. "The last time someone had fought these things, it was a few thousand years ago" said Catherine, sighing. "Oh" replied Daniel.
They were helpless. The Darklings were closing in, making strange sounds. Some were bigger than others, but they were all ruthless. One started to claw Harolds shirt. "HEY!" he shouted. Daniel swiped them with a sword. It looked as if the Darkling disintegrted, but they just reformed.
Daniel didn't know what to do. The ten heroes made a circle, weapons ready. "Fire" Dennis shouted. Nobody said anything. "Not the time, Dennis" said Bonnie. "No, fire will kill them" he said. "Permanently" he shouted and a roar of flames bursted around Dennis.
He had a mysterious look on his face. Lava covered him, flames lept out of him. "YEAH" Alicia shouted, and her whole body started to freeze. Daniel didn't know what she was doing, but he later found out.
A layer of ice covered Alicia. When it stopped, a sleek armoured Alicia stood in front of them. She smiled. A shard of ice hit one of the Darklings. A ball of flame from Dennis finished the Darkling, killing it permanently.
Harold was very still. Too still. "Harol-" Suddenly, a boulder appeared out of the horizon. Daniel immediately knew that Harold was using every ounce of strength to carry that stone. It was massive, bigger than an elephant. Daniel stared at it.
It dropped out of the sky, smudging 50 or so Darklings. They immediately burned in fire from Dennis. Vines coiled around some of the Darklings. They fiercely fought back, but they stood no chance. The vines twisted and crushed them, a scream erupted from their mouths. Catherine was smiling. Dennis killed all of them, in groups of fives and even seventies.
A gust knocked over a few of the Darklings. "Your welcome" said Edger. Catherine rolled her eyes but smiled. A tornado appeared out of the sky and knocked out even more Darklings. "Are you impressed now, Catherine?" asked Edger. "UHHH, yes" said Catherine.
"My turn" said Klara and a tsunami appeared. "Don't worry" we'll be safe" said Klara. "But they won't" she said, pointing at one of the Darklings. Daniel watched in amazement as a ball of water covered the heroes. They were floating midair as the tsunami hit the Darklings. The water around them disappeared and Dennis' flames destroyed them.
"Nice work" said Daniel, seeing the mess around them. "We better get this cleaned up before some people see this mess. They would be wondering what the heck happened here" he said. In a flash, everything disappeared. Catherine called back the vines. Harold turned the huge boulder to tiny stones and dispersed them around. Dennis and Klara put out the remaining fire. And Bonnie went around, picking up extra mess.
"I would call that a job well done"
