Chapter 55

She had been taken hostage a month ago by Zhen until they were able to repay him their father's debt.

His stepfather was a drug addict and a gambler who died a month ago when he got into a serious fight with someone in this particular bar. Though some people believed that he was murdered by Zhen's underlings for being unable to repay their money.

Wu Chan really hated that useless father of theirs. He had subjected them to many kind of problems in their lives. He denied them schooling, solely using his money on alcohol, drugs, women and gambling.

Their mother was the sole breadwinner in the family. In case she denied him her money, the husband would subject her to a lot of beatings.

The only thing Wu Chan couldn't change was the fact that he brought them up and he was Wu Qiao's biological father and their mother's legally married husband.

When he found a job, he used to help his aging mother to raise the family and paid for his sister's college fees. He was also forced to pay for his father's misdeeds.

When the man died, they were unable to raise enough money to repay his debts thus Zhen kidnapped Wu Qiao , locking her up till they'd raise the money.

This day was supposed to be their deadline. If they were unable to pay up he'd hurt his sister.

Wu Chan didn't even want to imagine how she was doing or what would happen to her. They were forbidden from seeing her.

If he reported to the police, the criminal would murder her and their mother.

Losing his job added his frustrations. He ran up and down looking for money or loans from his friends to no avail.

Then he remembered Ellen had offered him a job. He decided that in case he got the job, he'd ask for an advance salary after explaining his situation to her, hopefully it'd work out well.

Who would have known that she'd command him to take her to the same bar where his sister was being held hostage?

He was too scared to go to the lion's den but her aura was too domineering and scary.

 Crash!!!

A loud glass shattering sound suddenly broke his train of thoughts.

He jumped in shock clutching his vigorously beating heart that nearly jumped from his chest, when he saw the large stains of red wine on Zhen's short sleeved white shirt.

He gasped his eyes widening in shock.

Ellen had crashed her glass of red wine on Zhen's face, pouring all the content on his shirt before the glass landed on the floor breaking into pieces.

Blood oozed out from the deep and sharp cuts he had sustained on his cheeks and nose.

The man was so angry that he found it difficult to breath. Black veins popped up on his forehead and bulged arms.

" You ugly old man, I think I've entertained you enough. Bring the girl to me and get your underling to apologize to him. "

Pointing at the dumbfounded Wu Chan using her eyes, Ellen dryly said to Zhen without showing much emotions.

Her face was flat, a cold smile lingering on her ruby lips. She was exceptionally calm as if she hadn't knocked someone's face with a whole glass of wine, ordering him around in his own territory.

" I hope not a single strand of her hair is missing. Else you'll have to pay with your life, unfortunately. "

Her voice was low and relaxed contrast to the creepy smile on her face that gave goosebumps.

" Y-you... how dare you?!! B*tch, do you have the slightest idea of what my name stands for in this community? Do you believe I can kill you with a snap of my finger?! "
