Void Element

The old man brought me along as he went hunting for our food for the day. None of the monsters dared to come close to the old man, scared like they knew how strong he was. Mister, on the other hand, was just walking nonchalantly through the forest searching for his prey.

Once Mister sets his eyes on his prey, it only takes a couple of seconds for him to completely kill it, leaving most of its body intact. He wouldn't use a weapon and would just instead just use his bare hands but the wounds on the animal seemed like it came from a sword.

His attacks were fast and I was completely unable to see them. It just felt like one second he was standing still and the next moment the target was dead.

"H-H-How do you do that?" I asked him as I stared at the carcass lying on the ground.

"Oh you mean that basic attack? I just swung my hand at it." He said, his words made it seem how effortless it was for him.

"I couldn't even see the attack… That's just a basic one?" I said as I stared at him wide-eyed.

"You get surprised too easily, young man. With just enough training, hard work, and sufficient talent, you too would be able to do that." He said as if he was appraising me.

We walked back towards the cave entrance and he began to skin the animal and prepare it for cooking. He made me wait inside the cave and told me to focus on recuperating.

Covers the target entire body with healing light. Heals target for 10 HP. Injuries will be healed as well

I learned Heal as soon as I was able to move my body and experiment a lot more freely with magic. I spent the remainder of the days leading up to today focused on healing my own body and slowly but surely mending my injuries.

It went on like this for another half a month. I would use almost all my mana to heal my body and would join Mister when he goes out to hunt. Some days I would watch him train near the waterfall.

I noticed a few things from watching Mister train. Not only were his attacks incredibly powerful and quick, they were also not lacking in control. He was able to slice through branches and trees without damaging the ones behind the target, even if his attacks seemed like they could destroy the whole forest.

What I noticed was that his attacks would be so powerful and quick but would stop at a certain point when he attacks. It felt like the powerful attack would turn into nothing when it reached that point, ultimately disappearing.

With my body now almost fully recovered, I went out towards the waterfall to join Mister on his training. I walked up to him and told him what I've found out from watching him train.

"You're not wrong, but you're not right either. It doesn't just stop at a certain point indefinitely, it stops because I want it to stop there. Stand beside the waterfall, and look at the water and the stone beside it as I attack." He told me and I followed his instructions.

I stood beside the waterfall looking at both the falling water and the stone mountain behind it. Mister took his stance and wielded his wooden sword and slashed at the direction of the waterfall. The falling water was undisturbed but a big long slash was imprinted on the stone, sending bits of rock flying.

"You can move your attacks from one point to another!" I screamed as I realized the attack and how useful it could be.

"This is the Void element. I've stumbled upon very old ruins that had this element as its main focus. The void is an empty space and with the use of magic, you are able to manipulate this void for your own control." He explained as he gave more examples of the void elemental magic.

"You can move objects, attacks and people as long as you are moving and taking them from an empty space. You can also go into the void yourself and transport yourself over a short distance in a blink of an eye. However, staying in the void for too long can greatly affect your body, sapping your life force." He disappeared from my sight and appeared right behind me as he was explaining the uses of the void element.

"Can anyone use this magic?" I look at him with pleading eyes.

"No. I had gone through some changes within my body inside the ruins for me to have the proper affinity for the element. Although, some people do have innate talent for certain types of magic. Why don't you give it a try." He replied.

"Alright…" I said as I grabbed my sword and stood a couple meters in front of a tree. Having no scientific knowledge about void or space or anything of the kind. I focused my imagination on those shows and movies that had similar powers. I imagined the edge of my sword going through a small portal and the portal appearing directly in front of the tree.

Evidence of a slash on the tree was seen as soon as I finished my spell.

"Impossible! You did it so effortlessly and on your first try… Boy, you're much more of a monster than this old man!" Mister laughed hysterically, slightly still unable to believe what had happened.

"What's your name, young man?" He asked me seriously.

That's right. Although we've been together for a month and a half now, he has never asked for my name. "John Colton, Son of the Baron of Eshon." I stood with my back straight and replied with honor.

"Alright, Honourable John Colton. I will remember your name. Now, come! Let me teach you what I've learned about the Void element. I'm excited to see how much stronger you can actually be in the future." Mister said with a proud and expectant face.
