[Void Step]

You are able to step into the void and teleport yourself to a maximum of 10 meters in an instant.

Mister trained me for an additional month after I fully healed. He told me that I had good foundations when it came to my body and my magic training but I could do better. He had me doing different types of exercises both for the body and the mind.

I had to run every morning and every night and do some bodyweight exercises in between. I also had to make time for my sword training and practising my void element control.

I realized that although the void element was strong, you can only use it on its own. It was unable to be combined with different elements like the others. It was made purely for physical attacks and for movement.

Mister and I got to know each other a lot better during our training together. He has told me different stories about his travels all around the world to be the strongest swordsman the world has ever seen. He has learned many different styles of swordsmanship and incorporated it into his training in the void element.

'Although magic is at the forefront of combat in our era, training the body isn't any weaker than high class level magic.' I remember these words that he would say as a reminder and assurance that my training wasn't for nothing.

"Faster John! You won't be able to hit me with these slow attacks!" Mister screamed as he swiftly dodged every sword strike I threw at him.

I gripped my sword tighter with both hands and pushed my body to its limits, attacking faster and faster each second that passed by.

"Better! HAHAHAHA!" Mister bellowed with laughter as he still easily dodged my every attack.

He took his wooden sword and slashed upwards towards me. I blocked his sword and was sent flying up into the air. He jumped towards me and instantly appeared slightly above me, preparing to slash his sword down.

I felt the intensity of the battle at that moment. I was nearly helpless to do anything as I was stuck in the air, with no foothold to use to dodge his strike.

As I was staring at his sword that was about to strike me down, I saw a copy of the sword, a shadow of some sort, moving ahead of Mister's strike.

[Foresight] skill learned.

[Foresight]

You gained the ability to predict the actions of an enemy you are facing when under immense pressure.

'Fuck yeah!' I celebrated inwardly as I saw the notification pop up and watched where the shadow of the sword was going to aim. Although I knew where the sword was going to hit, my body failed to respond to it.

"AGHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed as I forced my body to move as I wanted it to.

[Body Mastery - Beginner] skill learned.

[Body Mastery - Beginner]

You surpass your body's limits and are able to exert it to twice its maximum capabilities for 30 seconds. You become exhausted and unable to move for 5 minutes after using this skill.

[Body Master - Beginner] skill activated.

My body felt lighter and my muscles tighter. I twisted my body to dodge the incoming attack and swung my sword wildly towards Mister, trying to counter.

Mister's sword whizzed past my body, only centimetres away. He was surprised and saw my sword coming straight towards his face. As soon as it was about to make contact, Mister disappeared from thin air.

"Ugh!" I fell down to the ground with a loud thud, dirt and rocks flying from the impact.

I stood up and looked towards where Mister was standing. He had his eyes closed and his arms crossed, seemingly thinking about something.

"It's my loss. I used magic when we agreed not to." He said as he nodded his head and opened his eyes to look at me.

"Come let's go. You have been training with me for a month now and it's about time you return to where you came from." He said as he started walking away.

I tried to follow him but realized that I was unable to move, not even a single finger.

"Mister!" I called out to him and he stopped walking.

"What is it, John? I said let's go. I'll bring you back to that academy you told me about." He looked back at me waiting for me to move.

"Uh… Hahaha… I think I pushed my body too much… I can't move at all…" I said, unable to hide my embarrassment.

He walked towards me and carried me with one hand and put me over his shoulder. I could hear him chuckling under his breath.

"That was a good fight, John. Any person your age probably isn't your match anymore." He said as he was still trying to hold in his laughter.

He carried me up until I was able to move on my own again. We talked as we walked back towards the Froelia Academy. He kept reminding me about keeping up with my training and how the power of one's body won't fall out to any magic as long as it was properly trained and taken care of.

It took us 2 days to reach the capital.

"We're here. This place really does look different from the villages we passed." Mister said as he admired the view of the bustling streets and architecture of the buildings.

"This is where we will part, John. I thought it would take longer for me to train you but you surpassed my expectations. You learned in 1 month what it took me a year to do. I can proudly say that I'm a genius when it comes to the way of the sword, but you… You're on a different level." He said.

"Thank you, Mister… Will I ever see you again? I owe you my life." I said as I looked up to him.

"Hahahaha! Don't be so sad, John! Of course we'll meet again. Who knows, even if I never told you my name, you might've heard of it already." He patted my shoulder as he smiled at me.

He handed me his wooden sword and looked me straight in the eye.

"This sword has been with me ever since I've learned of that mysterious element. I've trained millions of strikes with this sword, and now it's yours." Mister said as he reluctantly let go of the sword in my hands.

"I can't accept this… It's your sword. I-"

"Just take it, John. You're basically my apprentice now and I can't go without giving you a gift." Mister cut me off with a serious tone but with a smile on his face.

"Now go. Your friends are probably thinking that you're already dead. Surprise them." He said as he turned around and started walking farther and farther, his back getting smaller as he went.

I watched him leave till I couldn't see him anymore, my hand tightly gripping the wooden sword he gave me. A feeling of sadness and admiration filled my entirety. As soon as I couldn't see him anymore, I headed towards the Froelia Royal Academy gates.

I reached the academy gates and was stopped by one of the guards.

"State your name and reason for being here." The guard said.

"John Colton, son of the Baron of Eshon and student of the academy." I answered with my head held high.

"Honourable John Colton was said to be killed during an expedition. Who are you?" The guard questioned.

"I am John Colton. Please call Teacher Sasha Doyle to affirm my identity. As you can see, I've been through hell and have only arrived." I said as I gestured to my clothes that had multiple cuts and holes.

"Stay here. I will go and ask for Miss Sasha Doyle. If you are not who you say you are, you will be sent to prison for impersonating a noble." He told the other guards to watch me as he went to call Sasha.

A couple of minutes passed and I stood in front of the gates when it opened and a woman came running towards me.

"John! It's really you!" Teacher Sasha screamed as he saw me and the state I was in.

"Are you okay?! Are you hurt!?" She asked me worriedly.

"I'm fine, Teacher… I've returned." I said as I looked at her with a smile.
