Chapter 99: Time To Say Goodbye

After the return of Obed, everything went on smoothly in their new academy. As Obed as the Demon King, demons could now attend the Academy. Moreover, more teachers were enrolled in the Academy as Marcus and Charles were the new teachers on the Academy. Marcus and Charles were teaching about magic both electric and water magic. More and more students were getting enrolled in the Academy. Obed and his friends however were in their third year as Barns who had completed long ago, had now become a trainer.

Everything seemed to be peaceful as there was no more destruction or taking over the Earth. "Obed, what do you want to be in the future," Michael asked. "I don't know, I'm still thinking about it," Obed answered. "What about you guys?" Obed asked. Joyce and Angel had the same dream to be a teacher in the school. Michael and Chris both wanted to work as trainers just like Barns. Florence wanted to be by Obed's side. The rest didn't know what they wanted to be in the future.

The friends began to challenge Obed in an 8-on-1 battle as Ariana who is Obed's cousin joined the scene. They all fought hard as their classmates were watching but in the end, Obed defeated them. Obed congratulated them on the battle and told them to improve on their skills. They all laughed as shook hands with one another.

Soon, everyone gathered outside including the teachers as they all smiled at Obed. Obed was then standing in front of a tree and then pulled out his sword from out of nowhere. Obed then marked his name on the tree symbolizing the fight he fought with Iana. Then Obed knelt on his knees as he ordered everyone to kneel to say a word or to for bringing them this far. Everyone immediately knelt as he let out just two words, "Thank you". As soon as Obed said those words his life expired.

Everyone finished saying their words and then got up on their feet except for Obed. Florence then went close to Obed to tell him that they are done. When she got close to Obed, she saw that Obed's eyes were closed, and wasn't breathing. Florence thought Obed was sleeping so she decided to check his heartbeat but to her surprise, Obed's heart wasn't beaten. As soon as Florence realized that Obed's life had expired. She then cried out loud and then announced that Obed had died. Everyone thought it was a joke and saw decided to check but to their surprise, the hero was dead. Everyone was confused as to how Obed could die silently without everyone's notice. "Even his last words were just Thank you," Angel said. Osborne then reminded everyone that if Obed had to use his power continue and save everyone, he'll have to die. Marcus then carried Obed since he was his master and sent him to his realm to tell everyone that their master has died. After telling them and showing them the body, he returned he gave the body to Charles as he went to his realm to inform everyone that their master had died. After doing what Marcus had done, he returned with the body and then sent his body to the auditorium.

Everyone had to crave at Obed's body for 10 days. No one slept as people from the electric realm, the ocean realm came to pay their last respect to the hero, the legend killer, the friendly type, Obed. On the 10th day, Obed was dressed in his white robe as everyone gathered around to show their final respect to him. After paying homage, Ariana was called by Osborne to store Obed's body as a summon so that anything she feels she's in danger, she can summon him.

Everyone agreed and Ariana did as she was told. "Obed died on the night of his birthday," Linda said.

Soon a bouquet was placed around the tree where Obed had marked his name symbolizing respect and honor and that they will do everything it takes to protect the name of Obed. Even, the academy of the school was changed to Obed Gore Academy, and even books were written about him from the time he set foot in the school till his death. Florence decided to add Gore to her name as her name was now called Florence Gore. Bright and Ariana also added Gore to their names.

Long live the King!
