Chapter 2: Investigation
- Batman POV -
Ding ding ding. I answer it and say, "Alfred, what is it?" I'm driving around the city patrolling. I've had the Justice League up and running for a few years. At the start it was just Me, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Then the second wave was Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern. Then a whole lot more and we became pretty big.
"Sir, Police Commissioner Gordon has called. He says it's a dozy and no cop will take it, he doesn't even want it."
"Send me the address and data we have on it."
"Yes sir." I shifted the batmoblie and was on my way.

I arrived in a semi wealth neighborhood. This surprises me. Their is also no police presence outside just police tape. The smell of iron and blood hits me right when I step up toward the house. The whole thing is making me uneasy. I arrive and look through the house when my com goes off.
"Sir, the house is owned my a Mr Randy and Mrs Sara Smith. Mr Randy is a doctor out of Gotham General. He well know as a kind, trustworthy and well known fellow. Mrs Sara Smith is a Woman's Basketball Coach that also teaches. She also know to be kind and and she's also well known. Though their have been some rumors of them hating meta humans.
They have a daughter named Rose Smith but she hasn't been seen since she was 5. They said it was a genetic condition but no evidence or anything like that has come out."
"Thank you Alfred." I move through the hose and come to the kitchen. It was a mess. I was looking at the bodies. 1 male and 1 female. Lower 30s. Obvious signs of torture. Blood is fresh, just drying. About 2-4 hours ago.
The male seems to have his stomach torn out but when I look closer and the stomach is torn outwards. How. I move close and look down his mouth, making sure to not disturb the evidence.
Their are cuts, lacerations, and bruising in his mouth like it was forced while crawling and cutting the whole way down.
I look over to the female and she died while crying. She seemed to have her blood boiled and frozen at the same time while she aged rapidly. Don't have a clear sign of death, could have been all or one of them that killed her. I take picture of everything.
Now to search for the daughter. I moved upstairs. The upstairs has a study, master bedroom, bathrooms, several guest rooms all looking proper and made. But no daughters room. Where is it. The only place I haven't checked is the attic.
I move towards it. The smell of Blood and shit is getting stronger and the feeling of unease growing.
I get to it. Attic doors are blown outwards and everything hit me. Hatred against meta humans, missing daughter. When I finally get to the room, I should be surmised but the smell is so strong that I get my respirator on.
A bucket half full of urine and excrement in a corner. Dried blood old and new against the walls. Nail marks of trying to escape against all the wall with some having nails in them. Messages written in blood on the walls.

In one of Batman few moments of caring he saws, "Of course I care, if I didn't I wouldn't be wearing this suit." I take picture of everything.
I let Gordon know that the person he should be looking for is an 8 year old girl by Rose Smith. When I get back to the bat cave I start a new file. Then I head to sleep in the chair but I am soon awakened by an emergency signal from Damian. Looks like it's going to be another long night.
In a bat like cave on a bat like computer:

Relatives: Mother - Sara Smith (Deceased) Father - Randal (Randy) Smith (deceased)
Powers: Animal manipulation, most likely more (needs confirmation)
Appearance: need confirmation but no known photos after her meta transformation at the age of 5
State of mind: unknown, most like unstable and dangerous (needs confirmation)
Background: She awakened her meta human powers naturally at the age of 5 (needs confirmation), parents subsequently locked her up in their attic and abused her. Possibility of having sold her (needs confirmation). She escaped after killing and torturing her captors (needs confirmation) and is currently on the run.
