Problem

As Yao Ya was finishing my plate of food I heard a few sets of foot steps enter the building. This was strange, no one has ever really came to my building before let alone enter without even a notice.

The small group of people I came with and Li Lian are the only people I've really interacted with more than once or twice. Those foot steps became louder and louder as I tried to think of who they are or why they're even coming in here.

Yao Ya had just finished the eating and placed down the plate on the only table I had. Li Lian who was supposed to be sitting at the table had disappeared, probably turning into her little spider form while hiding away. The plate that Yao Ya had finished looked completely clean, I could almost see a shine from it. Not a single crumb of the food from earlier remained.

'She must of really liked it, maybe I'll cook some more things in the future.'

Those foot steps came to a halt as they finally appeared. My doorway became completely blocked as three men emerged from the corridor looking in. These people were completely unfamiliar to me as none of them seemed old enough to be an elder or any other person who would be working for the sect, while they were shocked for some reason. What even brought them here?

The one in between the other two stepped into my room before the other two quietly followed along. His facial expressions were rapidly changing while I just sat there on my bed next to Yao Ya as confusion filled my face.

'Who the fuck are these guys? Why did they just barge into my building without even saying anything. Now they just slowly walking into my room making weird expressions? We got some weirdos in this sect!'

Seeing the three men enter the room Yao Ya seemed like she just noticed them. She took one glace at them before looking back at me. A bright smile crossed her face before she started embracing my arm.

Like they just noticed that there was magically another person in the room the three just started glaring at me like I was their worst enemy or I just taken their wife away from them.

"What do you think you are doing you bastard!? Who the hell are you!? I've never even seen you before, how can YOU be able to have that kind affection with her!?"

"What?" confusion still covering my face

"Don't 'what' me asshole! Did you do something to her?! Everyone who has even tried to court her has been coldly rejected immediately without fail! Are you the reason why?"

"Hold on-"

"What's so good about you, huh? Wait, your cultivation isn't even in the second-stage yet, you're so shit! Why is she so close up next to you? You're so weak, are you even going to have a chance to pass the selection? I'm in the top ten candidates who has the highest chance of passing!"

The moment he said that the girl on my arm turned her head towards the men frowning while staring at them with the coldest eyes I'd ever seen come from her.

"You three better leave right now or I'll make you." These simple words carried such forced behind them that it caused them to actually leave without even lifting a finger.

The men left hesitantly, but still gave me a few glares before they fully disappeared from view. Why did they just comply and leave when asked? I feel like they would have at least make a little ruckus before hand. Does she have that much power over them? Wait, why does she have power over them?

That face she gave them before, she felt like a different person. From the three months and two weeks we've been together she has never made such a face and same goes for Li Lian actually. Was she that mad at them?

Facing me once again her expression returned to her usual smile as she as asked "Are you okay?"

Well I couldn't even get in 3 words , but I suppose it was alright "I'm o-"

"It's okay, it's okay I'm here for you!" Wrapping her arms around my chest and leaning onto me. She made me fall back onto my pillow without letting go. Inching her way up she eventually made it up to my head before just suddenly kissing me on my cheek.

She flashed a cheeky smile before setting her head beside mine and ceased her movement. A minute or two later she still didn't move. I tried to lift her off of me, but that didn't work, her grip was incredibly strong so I just lied there. My eye lids were getting heavier by the second as she felt really warm against me like a blanket.

When I was about fall asleep I saw Li Lian in her human form come over from the corner of my eye. Once she got close she just lied down next to me while taking my right arm to sleep with.

'All I did today was make noodles. How is it ending like this? Is it even night time? Why are we sleeping so early?'

By the time I had woken up I saw neither of them still attached to me. Sitting up I thought about what that man from yesterday said. I really don't know what is even happening in the sect. Maybe I should go around asking people about the recent occurrences. He said that he was in the top ten candidates that would likely pass or something like that. The selection is only a little under two weeks so I need to breakthrough and also find out my other competitors.

Those people from earlier might target me from what happened yesterday so I should prepare for that, but my main focus right now is to breakthrough to the second stage so I can even join the competition.

Looking over to the corner of my room the little web she built was empty. She wasn't there? But she has always been there. I guess I can't get any help for this one. I'll just have to do it by myself shouldn't be that hard right?

The first level of Meridian Opening is Activation. I first have to vitalize my dantian by circulating qi strands inside of it to get it going and ready. This is one of the most crucial stages as once it is reached the usage of qi can now begin and you can truly call yourself a cultivator. The dantian will store our qi for future use such as enhancing our bodies, our swords, using it to detect our surroundings, and use it to activate and control many types of tools.

Maybe once I go into the next stage Li Lian will give me one of those spatial rings she keeps on her fingers. Those things seem really handy to have considering it can be a personal little piggy bank for all kinds of wonderous supplies.

Sitting down a top the bed I start to focus on gathering some qi strands to circulate in my dantian.
