Mind break

Evan Swan : Good morning to you all . First let me kntroduce myself . My name is Evan Swan .


I'm sure noone here has heard of me . But i have met some of you . 


He eyed towards me even his voice sounded familiar when we met . 


Evan : I am here to train you to prepare for the generation of future knights .


Our class was divided into 2 . Ones who have mana and ones who don't.  


Even if the gift of mana was common not everyone had the ability to utilize just like Jay's flame going out with the speed of light .


Weapons imbued with mana also had a disadvantage.  A use limit . When the weapon imbued with mana runs out it just becomes a regular sword . And mana imbuement is a very difficult process . And is expensive .


This only lightning elemental sword  was famous due to its ability to shock everyone . But it was difficult to handle . Since a wrong move can also result in a backlash . 


Normal guard who were at the level of captain or commander could afford these sword . 


Utilizing the gift of mana was rare but a magic swordsman was even rarer . Since they required both a good physical condition and good mana capacity and control .


Evan Swan our instructor was known as one of the best magic swordsman in the land . It was an honor to take instructions from him .


I became a magic swordsman cadet . But things even got harder for me .


Now there were even theory lectures as well as practice .


Mana theory is a very wide subject . And one of the greatest questions lie in this theory .


Where does mana occur from . Something noone has been able to solve . 


As for practice we would have to use a variety of magic simultaneously eg . fire with earth , water with air , fire with ice . 


Evan sir teaching was very strict . Everyday i  would exhaust my mana and physical strenght .


But that's why i became stronger and stronger .


And one day he announced he was going to leave . At that day i shed tears . 


On that night he came to visit me . At midnight when i was swinging my sword as my daily routine .


Evan : Have you found out your answer yet ?


Evan : I'm sure one day you'll find your answer. 


Evan : Should we have some drinks as a farewell party .


We went to a bar at midnight . We got yelled at a lot by the owners . We talked a lot and walked to the dorms .


Sir was extremely drunk so i had to take him to his dorm .


His dorm was extremely simplistic . A table , bed chair and a photo hung up on the wall . 


On the photo were Sir Evan and a small girl and a beautiful lady .


Evan :  you see this painting my wife gave it to me on our anniversary. 


Evan : As i am a traveller i aam always seperated from my wife and daughter so they stay at my friend's house .


Terry : Aren't you worried about them .


Evan : Not a bit.  My friend is a sworn friend of mine . He would protect them with his life . Even his wife gets along with them .


Evan : If we meet again we should definately have drinks .


Jay : I wouldn't like to interrupt but i have to .


Terry : You're lying . He wouldn't die so soon . 


Jay : Wake up Terry it has been 30 years you have woken up . 


Terry : I know you wouldn't lie but i can't believe it myself atleast could you tell me what happend ?


I told Terry the whole thing after hearing that he was in shock and was now under so much tension .


Terry : No no no this is all wrong we must get out of here . I was not worried because i thought he was alive but now .


Outside were some men waiting for us with weapons in their hand .
