The Warrior of Gold

The aureus had never required any form of protection since they were considered sacred. Even the golden land that they lived on was considered sacred.

The kingdom of Gold surrounded by mountains and had only one gate though which one could enter and exit.

The Elder God made them in service of humans. So aureus had been idolized by humans.

But they had no way to protect themselves from large beasts like dragons who roamed the lands. In search of prey. And as they were pacifist they couldn't not attack nor be able to defend themselves.

And that's why they were given another gift. A giant statue of a warrior made of Gold. When he would sense that the people of the Kingdom would be in danger he would wake up from his slumber and rise from. Behind the mountains and he would terminate the threat and go back to sleep.

And what were the conditions to activate the Warrior of Gold. In order not to hamper with the preestablished qualities.

Aureus would never commit murder if they know what the automaton does.

Thats why they were told to take shelter when the see the Warrior of Gold. To avoid their eyes detecting the warrior of Gold in action.

Creating a total blindspot.

The aureus had to follow a proper procedure if a being like a dragon or any other large beast appeared.

Firstly a key would be filled into a specific mechanism which could be accessed via the fountain.

That key would unlock a path underground which would eventually lead them to a lever and when it would be flipped and the Warrior would wake up and after termination of the threat he would return once again behind the mountains and fall into a deep slumber once again. And the lever would unflip itself for the next use.

That's why Noone ever knew what was happening. They were blind to it.

Further details will be provided later.

And once again the Warrior of Gold woke up from his slumber and peeked over the walls. He was standing proud over 101 feet.

McElroy had never seen anything this tall in his life.

But Jay was unimpressed. His best impression was

"You can do better"

And it was because Jay had seen many more gigantic beings which were larger then that.

The Blood demon during the past which is the future now.

It towered over 300 feet.

And even the elder gods were very gigantic compared to the automaton.

McElroy :

How are we going to fight that.

Jay :

Wait if this thing is made of Gold I just can easily turn him to gold dust.

McElroy :

Well we have to try something.

The warrior saw both of them and identified them as their target.

The warrior also strength as an index to identify his opponents. And that might backfire sometime. But this time they lucked out as the warrior identified their strength to be even above a dragon.

So the warrior removed his sword which was designed to be very thick. It's thickness was almost 20 meters.

And it swung his sword downwards. Jay had underestimated it and thought that swing would be slow.

But when the swing was swung it came by within seconds and then when.

It was thus moment Jay knew he messed up.

Being barefooted Jay propelled himself to the side.

And avoided the swing just barely. He rolled on the ground and stood up instantaneously and he had an idea.

He jumped onto the warriors sword and punched it thinking it was gold with all his strength.

And when he punched his hand started to hurt as if he had struck the metal as a human being.

Though when he struck the layer of Gold was removed revealing a layer of Adamantium.

Adamantium was being covered by a layer of Gold.

I am being scammed. Ever since I bought that skill

Now everyone is using weapons which is immune to the skill.

Everyone is using mithril or Adamantium like it can be bought from the supermarket for just a dollar.

And top it all off he removed another blade and tried to swipe me off with another strike.

I jumped to avoid the blade and tried to land on the blade and missed. I had a bright idea while being mid-air. I tried to control the gold layered on the Adamantium sword.

And well it didn't even budge.

Means this automaton is being supplied with mana to keep it attached. What a gimmick.

But it only meant one thing. Jay and McElroy could finally go all out.

And Jay touched the ground with his feet unhinged.

Jay :

So that didn't work. You have something McElroy.

That thing has a running mana source and it's gold is non bendable.

McElroy :

Well what about toppling it over. That might cause him some damage since he's so huge.

Jay :

Were very close to the gate. If this thing topples it's going to take everyone with it.

McElroy :

What about the other way or maybe sideways. Maybe like tripping it up.

Jay :

Let's go with that.

And interrupting our conversation another strike uoheaveled the ground.

Toppling this thing.

Jay :

I'm going to restrict is movement first.

Jay joined his hands together and concentrated.

Giant chains emerged from the earth like a serpent and the wound around the warrior sealing his movements.

These chains were made from crude iron which was easy to refine and create in a bulk form.

These chains were launched flying with a great velocity

The Warrior was bound with these chains at least 10 times for good measure.

While McElroy swept the earth beneath him literally.

McElroy created a giant hole beneath one of his feet which caused the warrior to lose his balance and tumble to the side.

Jay :

McElroy aim for his joints.

McElroy used a bubble of water to target the joints through

Wear and tear. Turbulent waves attacked the entire joint of the arm. The running rampant water eroded many layers of Gold so much so at one point the entire water flowing started looking like gold and it even reflected the light.

Jay and McElroy had thought that they had won the battle.

Jay :

We've won McElroy. Now just keep grinding him up.

Suddenly there was an attack from. Behind a giant arrow plunged into the ground.

Releasing both of their magic.

When the dust cleared. It revealed that there were not one automaton but two. Instead.
