The entire session lasted for a grueling three hours. Next were the classes for instrumental methods for analysis.

But they were not much worth to talk about.

Many machines which were used in various calibration and validation processes were discussed.

Then it was lunchtime. Everything was going smoothly as Jay walked to the cafeteria for lunch. As he walked he was consistently hearing rumors about the new teacher.

It seems that he is a teacher of the cambay classes.

Many students complimented his teaching as very unique and innovative.

In the cafeteria students were served a balanced nutritious meals. Which were very delicious and it seemed everyone liked the food.

Jay sat at an empty table. Came another person with a katana. Without saying anything she seated herself on the table.

Jay :

That's a fancy katana you have there.

The katana was sheathed and it's sheath was adorned with many jewels making it stand out more.

I want to dine in peacefully.

Jay :

Fine.

Jay ate his food as usual. Until she herself started a conversation.

? :

You're from my class aren't you. What is your name.

Jay :

I'm Jay Garrick I come from outside, what's yours.

Rena :

I'm . Rena redcliffe a swords women from the Redcliffe family.

Jay :

And she left the cafeteria.

Next was the combat training

The instruction who was newly alloted here was none of other than McElroy.

While Jay was admitted without any consequences. McElroy had to prove that he had the capacity to teach someone.

For that he was tested in three categories.

First was General written test. Where questions related to general health and combat were asked.

And they were easily aced because of the Tower Masters wealth of knowledge that McElroy gained.

Next was physical sparring. Which McElroy passed with flying colors

And Mana sparring the test resulted in damages around the institute but the proctor that day had nightmares.

A monster was admitted into the institute.

This McElroy waw easily cleared for the position.

Everyone was gathered in a room which was specially made for sparring.

The room was created with the highest grade alloys which could resist high grade spells with relative ease.

Emergency services such as first aid teams were kept on standby for taking care of injuries.

McElroy came as he wore a different outfit from his traditional clothes. It was a suit which was given to teachers at the institute.

McElroy :

So good afternoon everyone, my name is McElroy and I am going to be your combat instructor for a while.

McElroy spoke with such a confidence it seemed like he was delivering lectures for years on end. That's why Jay was surprised. Even though he already knew the fact.

As how that day in the divine era when he was asked how did he weild mana in such a way. McElroy gave out a complex answer.

But even humans grow thus he continued to study sometimes on how to deliver messages and now he is an teacher.

When the women saw McElroy they were bewildered by his looks. His face, his jet black hair, his polished body.

We'll be doing armed sparring today so everyone take a

Weapon of your choice from the storage area.

And Jay you will be sparring unarmed.

The storage area was filled with every weapon you can think off. They were real weapons with safety placed on them.

Guns, sword, spears, bows, maces, sheilds, flails.

Even Hand cannons, laser rifles, stun grenades, incendiary grenades. Just name it.

While everyone chose the weapon that they liked. Most chose choices between guns or bows or swords or spears.

With supporting options as stun and incindiary grenades.

McElroy :

I will be drawing lots. Write your name and put it in the box.

And the students complied one by one putting their name which they wrote on the chit and dropped them in the box.

While the students scouted out the weakest among them. Their eyes were laid on Jay Garrick. Who was unarmed.

And McElroy knew this that's why he drew the lots system.

So that it won't be unfair for them. If they were to pair up with Jay.

McElroy removed lots one by one and a tournament format was followed with a small prize at the end.

Because a reward at the end is a good amount of pressure for growth.

First match was Jay vs Rena.

McElroy :

This sparring will be 3 minutes long. Disarming will be counted as a loss.

Each blow will be counted and the one with more blows than the opponent at the end wins.

Targeting eyes and private parts are banned.

Using mana will be counted as a loss.

Jay :

So we meet once again. I hope you'll go easy on me.

Rena :

Sir, I would like to spar unarmed as well.

McElroy :

This is armed sparring. Rena Radcliffe. You shall fight with your weapon.

Rena :.

Rena held her weapon against Jay but it was sheathed.

Rena who had very sharp eyes first were looking at Jay then she found herself falling in the ground. She held herself up with one arm.

At the moment Rena understood Jay was not to be under estimated. Rena swung her sword in an high slash from the left and Jay used his palm to redirect the swing to the right.

Rena got control of the sword and slashed horizontally in the middle. And Jay dodged the blow by backing away.

She kept methodically slashing away at Jay using her family sword arts.

But no move was able to reach Jay and he was handicapped as he was unarmed.

Rena :

Stop running away and fight like a man.

Jay ;

2 and 45 seconds were over and Rena unknowingly when the tried to slash Jay injected mana into her sword and it turned into an mana slash which while not affecting Jay could have killed someone.

So Jay stopped her blade midway by grabbing the blade in his hand. And due to a bit of excessive force it was broken cleanly into two pieces.

McElroy :

Time.

Rena's sword was broken into two pieces.

Jay :
