First Kiss

As Joo Won heard what was said by Yuna, he was stunned in disbelief. He honestly didn't expect to hear such a confession from her.

For thirteen years he waited for her to accept him and finally, today, Yuna had finally told him the exact words that he oh so wanted to hear from her.

It felt like all those years of effort and waiting were worth it since finally, it was now not only a one-sided feeling on his part.

From the moment he laid his eyes on her, he knew she was his fated one. Especially after that incident where she help him, he already decided that he wanted to be with her for life and that he would do anything to be with her.

Now, hearing those words from Yuna, he felt like he could just die in happiness. Honestly, knowing her, Joo Won thought it would be very long before she decides to accept him in her life.

But unexpectedly, after thirteen long years, she accepted him and told him that she loved him. At that moment, no words can describe the feelings that he felt.

He felt happy beyond content, way happier than he ever was. Nothing could make him happier than hearing those three words from Yuna.

While Joo Won was basking in happiness on the inside, he momentarily forgets that Yuna was waiting nervously for his reply or at least a reaction from him.

She honestly thought that he was quiet because he can't believe the fact that she had such disgusting and selfish thoughts when she knew that he had just become King and that such a thing can't happen.

As negative thoughts overwhelms her entirely, a single tear manage to escape her eyes and slid down her rosy cheeks. Soon, she became a crying mess and that was the first time she cried in a long time.

To her, it was embarrassing as she's showing yet another ugly side of her to Joo Won. But no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't stop her tears from flowing.

What's more, it didn't help that Joo Won was still not showing any kind of reaction towards her. It pained her greatly but she had already expected it and there was no turning back.

As Yuna took her hands away to wipe her tears, it was only then that Joo Won has snapped out of his thoughts and saw her in a crying mess.

He was confused momentarily but then he realized why Yuna had become that way. It was most probably his fault since he was too happy that he forgot to give his reply to her confession and it made her think negatively about it.

Joo Won think it was cute and adorable how she's crying from just her own assumption of things. Seeing as to how she's reacting, he was sure that her feelings for him is true and that he wasn't dreaming earlier.

He smile at the sight before he cupped Yuna's face with both of his hands, gently wiping her tears with his thumbs.

"Why are you crying, my dear? Did you think that I have come to hate you?"

Yuna sniffle as she subconsciously pouted and gave a small nod, looking down sadly.

"Silly girl. Why would I hate you when I've loved you for years. You have no idea how happy I am right now. I know I have hurt you greatly today and I might hurt you more in the future but I want you to know that I love you, only you and nothing will ever change the way I feel for you."

"Not today, not in the future nor thirteen years ago will ever change my feelings that I have for you. So it's okay for you to be selfish since it shows that you love me and also because I have been selfish too."

Hearing Joo Won's words, Yuna felt a wave of relief entered her body and without control, her tears starting falling again.

She didn't expect that hearing those words from Joo Won would make her feel so happy and relieved at the same time. She honestly thought he would leave her after knowing of her ugly feelings towards him.

It was the happiest moment in her life and she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Just being able to have Joo Won's reassurance and whole-hearted feelings was enough for her.

At least now, she knows that she doesn't have to be worried about another woman coming in since her position in his heart wouldn't change and that she would be his only one.

As Yuna continuously wiped her tears away and trying hard to stop crying, Joo Won had been panicking since earlier.

He didn't expect Yuna to cry again and he felt like it was his fault. Though he does think that she looks cute while crying, he doesn't want her to cry or feel sad since he only wants her to be happy while she's with him.

Not knowing what to do, an idea came up in his mind and without thinking much, he brought Yuna's face close to his and kisses her forehead before wrapping his arms around her.

His warm embrace immediately calms Yuna down as her tears stop falling but her heartbeat increases instead.

Yuna didn't expect Joo Won would give her a kiss since, in the thirteen years of their marriage, he never went any further than holding her hands.

This is why, all this while, Yuna thought he just wasn't interested in her or maybe that she wasn't appealing enough for him to want to do something towards her.

So when Joo Won had kissed and even hug her, she was really taken aback by it and felt flustered by the sudden development that she became a blushing mess.

She then quickly buried her face onto his shoulder, trying hard to hide her face from Joo Won so as to not get teased by him.

But little did she knew that she was too late and he had already found out by the redness that can be seen from the tip of her ears.
