Modern Thief V

Modern Thief: Amelia Holmes makes it so easy and annoying, again.

Shenanigan: 4.3.2018

"How's the case?" It was by the school's gate, Ame had ran to me and asked. A green tea can hold in her hand.

"Solved."

"I know you can do it, you make me proud." She nudged my chest, "though I can do it just here."

"Of course, you can…"

"Don't believe me. Watch. After you called me I knew you'd check the camera footage--but you never called me back that means the camera proved nothing. Obviously, broken. But I never heard about someone was caught destroying anything in the library. That means, the culprit is calculative to get away from suspicion. And when he's calculative, this tells me he had planned something to do before the surveillance camera got fix. This evening was a great time for him, because our movie club invited everyone to see their work at the hall. It's awesome, you're missing it, Shenanigan. Also, to know where and when to destroy the surveillance camera proved that he's a regular of the library. If you think there's no way to know who's a regular in the library, you're wrong. You can watch old footage to identify suspects--though it'd be a long work. But librarians also a regular, aren't they? So let's go with that.

Ame took a sip, "Ah, this taste! Anyway, stealing a girl's belonging, the culprit must be a boy who fancy Princess Ina. Not a friend she trusted, but someone close to her, a fellow librarian. After all, he know when and how to commit his theft. Next he must have realized a certain behaviour of the princess to have the opportunity…certain behaviour of our princess, any idea there Mr. Stalker?"

I rolled my eyes, "yeah, Ina Akira would put her notebook on the receptionist desk when she's to organize the books on the desk."

Ame laughed, "another point for suspectiong the culprit is a librarian! Then I take it the window's all locked, because by the smell of dust and papers on you, you never went outside to check for a runaway footprints. That means, our culprit is still inside the library--you told me no one had left the library anyway. And no one else in the library. He was hiding, but by the structure of the library, he can't be obvious. Maybe a hobit? Invisble man? But that kind of things are not real…then where could he be hiding that you can't see."

She thought for a half a minute and then, "Aha! The secret door connected to the programming club. Our culprit is one of the member of the entertainment club who participated in the challenge show. Not Sung, he's no librarian. The clone then. He used the secret door to hide the notebook!

"But oh boy, he can't be hiding there. If it's really a door then wouldn't it be so obvious. I gave my viewer in my stream a big hint--a secret door he can't fit. But really, it's just a fissure on the programming club that somehow connected to the library. It must have been just a behind an area of books. The dusts must have been reduced upon contact. So tell me what is hiding behind there with the notebook…"

Just before I could answer Amelia clapped her hand, "it's not by his hand but a help from a...robot! I suspected that this robot is the one who destroy the surveillance camera…but it must be tall to reach the ceiling--nonono, can't be too obvious. Fast. Ha! Listen here Shenanigan, It's a piloted drone! Imagine a drone kamikazed the camera. I'm sure you must have seen it if you asked Ina how the camera is broken. this drone must have arm...claws. Like those Japan's DRORIA. Now, as I'm convinced our culprit is a librarian…he must have open the window…and with a skill, programmed the drone to fly in the room and, as if a rocket making it's not obvious, hit the camera. All for this evening.

"For he's the clone and knew the existence of the secret door, he hid the drone inside it. Drone that can steal must have a camera installed, then from a far, our culprit waited for the opportunity and controlled the drone to snatch Ina's notebook, get into the hole back, and then put the dictionaries back with its long arm."

"Our culprit is a boy, rich maybe, a librarian, a member of the entertaiment club, skilled in planning and programming. And have a crush on Ina--who doesn't!" She finished her can and put it in my bag, with an innocent smile, "simple as boys! Pounded by my mom's daughter detection."

She laughed and looked at me, "what do you think?'

"Annoying as always." I confessed. She got it mostly right.

Ame laughed, "Oh come on, it was not fair! I was not at the scene to not miss an alphabet! But still I got the Z. You already knew the name of our culprit aren't you?"

I sighed, "I better go now. Someone's waiting at home."

"Your sister, humu humu…before you leave, did you tell everything to Ina?"

I shook my head, "not everything."

Ame smile, "all right you can go now. I'll tell her tonight." she winked, "I heard she's a fan of mine."

"You do you." I said though I was grateful that Ina would not be in dark for so long. "the librarian name's Ron."

Ame nodded, "Ron it is. And one last thing, Shenanigan."

I turned around once again, "what now?"

She smiled, "you can't make a harem if you are not selfish."

"Right…"

It was 4.3.2018, 18:00, that Amelia Holmes went to live and told the story of Modern Thief.
