Chapter Twenty-five: Off With Your Head

I know it seems anti-climatic, and you expect me to go around the world to tell you about the glorious battle that Wednesday and I say had; it was anything but that.

Before he could harm me, strike my child, I was in front of him in an instant, swinging my spear above my head, grunting as the bladed end met flesh and cut through his entire windpipe with precision.

A loud gush and a gurgle filled my ears until his blood overflowed from the widening gash in his neck, his head hanging by a thin piece of skin before his head fell off his shoulder and onto the ground.

Like a waterfall, his blood spilled and stained the ground as his body slumped forward. I pursed my lips and slowly reached down and grasped his armored breastplate dragging his headless body to the firepit before throwing him in to watch him burn.

When I went over to go and retrieve his head, I noticed everyone looking at me in shocked, stunned silence, mouths slightly agape, and their fiery glowing eyes wide in disbelief.

"You... You killed Odin." They watched as I threw his head into the pit next, sitting in the very spot he sat, my eyes flickering to Lugh's.

"If I hadn't... He would have killed my child and me. To hell with his ass!"

They started to bicker quietly back and forth between each other as I watched on in boredom. Lugh made his way to my side, placing his hand on my belly, his lips on my forehead.

"Then who is to lead us?" The war goddess Mama-Ji looked to me with a mixture of a distasteful and expectant expression, one pair of her arms crossed against her chest. I looked to her like she was mentally prepared, feeling the second pair of my hands gently rub my stomach as the baby began to move around wildly for a moment before it went still. "You're all adults capable of thought as well as decisions. You don't need a leader. You have yourselves for that."

They all seemed to look around each other before they all disappeared from the war room. "I thought you would've been nicer; seems I shouldn't be surprised." Nancy spoke for the first time since the fuckery had happened, his right eyes on my lounging form.

"Bugger off, Anansi!" Lugh snapped, glaring at the man in irritation. I slapped him in the stomach with ease, watching him double over with a gasp in the corner of my gaze, growling. "Fuckin' shiet WOMAN!" He gasped, pressing his head into my shoulder as he groaned. "Behave yourself!" I snarled, my nostrils flaring wide as I felt my baby moving around wildly again.

"You actually killed Wednesday... This shit is going to spread like a fucking wildfire." Nancy sat back as his eyes flickered to me, blinking all at once. I just rolled my eyes and let my head hang, groaning. "I just rid the world of a nuisance. The world is better for it." I slowly stood up, groaning as j pressed my hands against my lower back, feeling Lugh's hands hold me steady.

"Lass...ya hurt?" He blinked as he began to check the well-being of my person. Before I could give him a proper answer, I groaned, wrapping my arms around my belly just as the liquid began to run full gush down my leg, pooling at my feet.

Oh shit...

"It seems the little one is on the way." Bilquis stood abruptly as they all saw that I was going into labor, early labor. My eyes flickered to Lugh in panic, another groan passing through my lips as my legs gave out.

"Sweeney~!"

"Lay her down, Sweeney, get behind her and prop her up." Bilquis got down into her knees, Anansi kneeling at my side as the goddess began to get to work in preparing me. "Nancy, please get some water." I looked at him, and we just seed to stare at each other for a moment before he gave a slight bow of his head, going to retrieve the water.

"It fucking hurts!!!!" I snarled as another contraction shook my form, squeezing the life out of Lugh's hand. "The pain'll go. Just focus on breathing and me." Lugh placed his lips against my ear and whispered, squeezing my hand just as tightly.

"Get ready to push."

*******

We made it back to the "real" world exhausted, Lugh carrying my tired form as I held two gorgeous newborns in my arms. Bilquis and Mr. Nancy stayed with me through the entirety of my early labor, announcing to me that I had two little girls in the world now, both of them being twins.

When I spotted the curly red hair and beautiful light brown skin, I kissed both of them, consumed with wonder, almost choking on the love I felt. Lugh, when he got sight of them, cried, sobbing as Bilquis handed him my firstborn, staring at her in the same wonder that I felt.

They were an equal mix between Lugh and me, getting the red hair from the both of us, it was the eyes that confirmed it. They seemed to have my eyes wailing loudly as they first took a breath of the world's air. Once in my arms, they seemed to calm down, starting around in wonder.

"Oh my God, Jack would be in love right now." It was funny that I even mentioned her name throughout the entirety of my pregnancy; not once did I acknowledge her, not once did I speak to her. I then smiled at the idea that I thought, tears springing to my eyes.

I had named my firstborn after my adoptive mother, Jack. My second-born I named after my Biological mother, Gaea; after all, I wouldn't be here without their guidance.

Now they both were swaddled and warmed, laid comfortably on my chest and within my arms as Lugh carried me out of the strange museum with Bilquis and Mr. Nancy walking in either aids of him in silence. The others that had left the backstage before they could witness their birth were all waiting by the carousel staring in wonder at the two bundles in my arms on the way out.

"That was the worst pain... In my life..." My voice was barely above a whisper, hearing Nancy chuckle humorlessly. "Knowing you fucking horndogs, there's gonna be more where that came from." He places his hat on his head, glancing down at me. I just started up at him groggily before letting unconsciousness take me.

"Kiss my ass, Spiderman."
