This book is in the first person, mostly. And does switch perspectives.

A Better Life In a better World

The combat teacher came back into the classroom defeated as he walked down the rows he gave me a glare. I just smiled. Some janitors came in to clean the smear of blood and some people carried him to the infirmary. After that class started once again.


After class we were out in the hallways again. "Why'd you do it?" Leona asked, still shaken from my actions. "Because I can." was the simplest answer I could give her. She quickly turned around to face Brian. "And you. Why did you condone it?"


Brian had a thinking look on his face. He had already made up an answer; he was just trying to make sure she thought he was thinking about it seriously. "He deserved it." "But what did he do?" He stared at her for a bit. "He just wasn't a good person." Brian was confused as to why she was questioning his morals.


"But you could've got him to the authorities." She said, looking at me again. "I just wanted to beat the shit out of someone I know deserved it." I said truthfully. "Aren't you worried about what others think?" "Now why would I worry about that? This was a display of power." I said, finally revealing the real reason why I did what I did.


"But why was there a need to beat someone for a display of power?" "Because the last time I came around, he didn't remember his humiliation, nor did I get him well enough." Her look cast down her eyes. "Violence isn't the answer to everything." She said almost mumbling, "Correct! But power is."


"What about kindness?" "What about helping another so they don't have to go through something bad.." I didn't see anyone coming to help me when I needed it most, nobody. "I don't know, but I'm not a charity, so it's not my problem." She sighed. Next for Leona was history so we had to diverge. "Sapphire, she made some pretty good points."


"I know but her mentality is not mine."


"Yeah but violence isn't always the answer."


We entered a PR class soon enough after an hour and a half it was finally over. We walked in history class. A few minutes later the lights shut off and the class began "Today we will start covering Hephaestus." "Hephaestus one day created runes; these runes were capable of storing and transferring life force to the power cores in the weapon or device." "He also created the greatest armor of all the armor of Abol." "This armor was a true masterpiece said to take on a Sin ranked core beast."


"He also made a sword along with it said to be the greatest sword ever made. Rumors say it was made out of ten Sin-ranked cores and the blade is made out of Raktell, a metal that is said to be only found once Lireal (Li- ree-al) itself pours its energy into iron."


I raised my hand. "You may speak." "How do we know that this armor is real?" I wondered what sin-ranked creatures were. "Because archangel Michael has only worn the armor"


 "Now Hephaestus ushered in a new diamond age for humanity much greater than any other golden age to ever exist." After an hour or so of maps of where he was and his feats class way over.
