"Why do you keep doing this to yourself?" She said, healing my hands. I could see the distortions in the air. How does healing work, anyway? I shrugged as she kept healing me. "Okay now I have confirmed it. How do you two know each other so well?"
Tenner asked, "She's a frequent visitor." Nurse joy answered with a light chuckle. I once again made sure my scars weren't visible after my hands were healed. "That was a very nasty injury. You're lucky it didn't hit any major nerves or else you'd have to relearn how to do any complex movements with your hands.
Maly…
I needed to be stronger. I felt a sense of shame wondering who would've won if Sapphire hadn't stepped in. He would've won. A wave of shame again washed over me. Why couldn't I be strong? If I didn't have strength, I couldn't win in life.
I caught a glance of some scars on Sapphire's wrist's. They were terrible. What happened? I also noticed she always has her collar slightly folded up. What's up with that?
I didn't have a money advantage. I was a little above average in looks and I didn't even have strength, so what did I have? I stayed silent contemplating my life. "Do you want a rematch?" Tenner suddenly turned over and asked.
"Not if it's like that again." I responded with what I was thinking. He chuckled. "No just a friendly spar, no serious wounds. Sapphire looked up. "I'd like to spar with both of you." She said, changing the atmosphere. We both stared at her.
"Is there something wrong?" "It's just that... You're a bit too strong…" Tenner said nervously. Sapphire had a thinking look on her face. "Is it because I stopped your attack?" We both nodded. "You two were half way knocked out with barely any stamina left with lots of blood loss."
She said making a list of how many handicaps we both had at the time. "Okay! We get it." I said putting my hands out. "Slow down kiddos you will not fight at. All." Nurse Joy said seriously.
"I Predicted this."
Sapphire said she was glancing over to Nurse Joy's ever raising an eyebrow as she went on with her sentences earlier. Sapphire interlocked her hands.
"Let's make a deal." "No." "I will not hurt them too badly." "No." "And in exchange you let me duel them both at the same time." Instead of saying no at the end of her sentence Nurse Joy thought about it. "Okay."
"Hey don't we get a say in this?" I asked quietly expecting nobody to hear me. "Do you want to get stronger?" She asked seriously. She read my mind. "Of course!" I said with rebound energy. She looked at Tenner. "Of course I want to get stronger." He said after giving absolutely no thought into it at all.
"We start when you are fully healed. There will be some others there too."
Sapphire…
My plan is to gather up some talents I know and train them beyond their limits. So I can eventually have my own team to fight against Lokust. So far On my roster I have Brian, Leona, Tenner, Maly and me.
I want one other person on this team, even if he is a little annoying. Raimy.
He has so much talent it cannot be wasted. I will inform them what this training is for during our first session.
7pm dueling grounds…
I finally found Raimy dueling again. I approached him. He waved at me. "Hello!" He said trying to make a good first impression. I waved slightly back. "What brings you here today?" He said, walking closer to me he had just finished winning his last duel.
"I'm forming a training group. Do you want in?" I said getting straight to the point. He looked like he was thinking, but I could already tell he had decided. "Uh sure! Do I get to battle powerful people?" He said excitedly. "It wouldn't be much training if you didn't," I said, smiling. He was the kind of person who was obsessed with fighting as I thought.
He blushed at me. It wasn't his fault puberty had a mind of its own. "When do we start?" He said excitedly. "We start in two days and meet at my dorm at 6:30 pm."
I said telling him the same date as everybody else.
2 days later meeting time…
Leona, Brian, Maly and Tenner were now here wondering why we didn't meet at the training ground. "I'd like to tell you all something." I said starting to speak. They all leaned forward. "In some months the school is going to be attacked." I paused to let the realisation to sink into everyone's hearts. Leona looked a bit guilty with her head hung down.
A sudden panic washed over the room. "How?" "Who?" "How did this happen?" I let them calm down. "Lokust will be attacking this school in a matter of months. We have to get ready."
All of them calmed down while Leona's head hung even lower knowing my next words.
"Lokust can't attack us!" Tenner said in disbelief. "Now that they have PR enhancing pills they can." I said, breaking their hopes. "PR enhancing what!!!!" Brian yelled. "They increase the owners' PR by five."
All the color drained from everyone's faces; they all looked like ghosts. "Th- that means th- they all have a- a minimum PR of 17." Maly said, shaking. "Correct and if we even want to stand a chance of winning against them, we have to get strong extremely fast!" I said with enthusiasm.
I layed out the plan. "First, we need battle strategy. Working solo will not work at all, we will all get killed." "We workout together, we fight team duels together, we get to know each other's habits and strengths." I said, as they nodded.
"Second, improve your life force refining technique to work faster. Get plenty of sleep, never get out of shape and we should be able to stand up to them." Even Raimy's playful demeanor had diminished and disappeared.
"Why don't we tell the school? And what about the royals and the military?" Tenner asked they all looked at me expecting an answer.
"The first thing I did was call the advisors." I said, telling the truth. "So why haven't we heard about it?" Brian asked. "The reason you haven't heard of this is that it would cause a panic. People would have their children dropping out of the school and such." "So why didn't they place extra security here?" Maly asked a good question.
"They did place security here. You just can't see them." I said calmly. "Then that means there isn't much security. Why is that?" Tenner asked another question. "Lokust has been practicing on the other elite academies. They need protection, too, but it's not solid. If there is another attack at a different school, our security would have to leave."
"Thus leaving us in a trap with no security," Brian said finishing my sentence. "Correct."
"How much time do we have?" Raimy said seriously, looking up from thinking for a while. "We have around 3 months left, at least the most we have is 3 months and 2 days," I answered with the hard truth, making the atmosphere even heavier.
I stood up and said, "We start now." I gave them my workout routine and all of them accepted it.
"Shouldn't we have a name for this team?" Raimy said finally, snapping out of his thinking state. "We'll think about it after training," I said we didn't have the time right now. All of us did my daily workout although it was 7 pm. Leona Tenner and Maly weren't used to training their bodies.
They were going to be in a lot of pain tomorrow. "I'll set up a team duel," I said as they all walked out. "Meet up immediately after school," I said they all nodded and headed out. I started doing some extra sword training more than what was on my daily schedule. I would need it.
