Being Happy

Immediately after school…

The rest of the group were panting as they had run to get here. "Wh- why did you say immediately!?" Brian said still panting he had been in the bathroom across the school when the bell rang. "He- he has a great point!" Tenner said panting heavily.

We were in a half-circle with me near the middle, right outside the dueling grounds. "Today we start practicing go all out." "Are we going to be dueling another team?" Maly asked wiping sweat from her nose. "No, today we will spar against each other." Tenner Maly and Brian shivered in fear. I smirked evilly.

Raimy darted his eyes across all of them. "Is there something I'm missing here?" He said, confused. I let out a surge of killing intent. "Whoa WHOA!!!" Raimy said, wobbling as he failed to stand straight. Maly collapsed on her knees. Tenner's knees were bending slightly and Brian was completely fine except for some strain on his face.

Leona's knees were less than three inches from the ground. I went easy on them, but this just shows who I need to work on. I stopped the killing intent. "Now I see what I was missing!" Raimy said anting even heavier than before. It seems the more close death events you have, the less you are affected.

"Why'd you do that!" Leona said in rage. "It was a light test," I said, not expecting her sudden outburst. I quickly flickered my power on. She wasn't mad at me she was made that she couldn't even stand up under my killing intent. Me saying it was a light test which it was just made her even angrier.

"That was uncalled for!" She said stomping towards me but before she could get close Brian quickly moved and grabbed her shoulder. "It was a test. Calm down." He said practically commanding her.

Maly looked ashamed of herself and Raimy had his hand on his chin, his eyes wandering he sure dazed off a lot. Tenner was also deep in his thoughts. "Now that I have a good idea of where you all are we can start training!!!"

They all focused and looked at me. We headed into the dueling grounds. "I'll be going against two of you at the same time and two of you will have a regular spar," I said they cringed at my first six words before brightening at the rest. Raimy voiced, out a question "Aren't we supposed to be doing our training together?

"First we need to get stronger individually," I said answering his question. Adhering to Nurse Joy's deal, "First two that will be dueling me is Tenner and Maly." They groaned. "I'm going to ignore that," I said nonchalantly. All three of us walked to the dueling platform. "Ready!" We all said simultaneously. I got into my usual low position with my sword I stared at them using my power I couldn't afford to hold bacon my power.

Of iI'd be holding back not to kill them but…

Tenner activated his power setting a trap in gravity. While standing still with a smirk on jis face now know that's just a nervous habit, not an actual smile. I scanned over Maly's stats. She's fast faster than me. I dashed forward at my highest speed strangely not feeling any pain.

Maly used her instant acceleration to meet me in the middle while Tenner set up another gravity trap that I wasn't going to fall into. He needs to learn how to be more creative. My focus didn't have to shift as I could see 360. "Be more creative, Tenner," I said as I had my first sword to sword clash with Maly. I easily overpowered her making her step back. "Work on your upper body's physical strength." I took advantage of her stumbling back to see a Tenner coming at me stepping on air. Taking my directions to heart.

He used his height to use a gravity increase making the force of his attack stronger. An almost perfect execution. I swayed to the right perfectly. Dodging his attack he looked up in shock. "Try not to be so obvious when you attack if I were an enemy I would've swiped you out of the air take the advantage of height to go behind your opponent."

I saw Maly immediately coming from my side they tried a pinch attack on me with Tenner finally making a solid gravity box on me. They still couldn't scratch me. I dodged both attacks by a hair doing a backflip to avoid having to get a running start. They both attacked at the same time as I counter-attacked Maly making her knock into Tenner's weapon.

They ended up having their weapons going opposite ways from the original way they were going as I backed up. "Try not to get too close unless you have more experience working together." They both nodded and advanced again, this time attacking separately Maly came from my side using a predictable attack that I could easily parry I stabbed forward this time intentionally stopping as to not hurt her.

"Why are you holding back!?" she shouted. My eyes widened in surprise. I ha never stopped focusing as I saw Tenner coming at me. 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 "So predictable you need to be more fluid with your attacks." First Tenner attacked, then Maly attacked. "I'll start attacking now."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3rd person…

Their bodies froze as they felt a coming sense of death. 'What the hell!!!' they both thought simultaneously. Sapphire came at Maly, yet it felt like they were both being attacked at once 'What's going on!' Tenner thought being pushed back by Sapphire's gracefully fierce attacks.

It almost looked like she had developed a fighting style just for them. She used stronger, more brutal attacks for Tenner throwing him off balance, yet while she was attacking him Maly would try to pierce Sapphire with her Rapier. So instead, she just warded her attack off and stabbed forward, causing minor cuts to pile up.

But as Sapphire went for Maly, Tenner would quickly recover, making gravity lower so he could stand faster and fall slower. So when Sapphire used her strategy, she was dodging perfectly entering a state of focus that only with her eyes allowed her to perceive just seconds into the future.

'Who are these people?' Olivia said, suddenly waking up and startling Sapphire. She only dodged by a fraction of an inch. 'Go back to sleep!' Sapphire said, wanting to stay with her best friend as long as possible. 'You can't hold on to me forever. I have to go sometime.' 'NO!!!'

Sapphire said with a sudden burst of strength, knocking Tenner further back. He hit his head on the concrete floor.

BEEEEEENNNNGGGGGG It was a hard hit. His eyes quickly opened his eyes and stood wobbling.

He saw a Sapphire with her hair completely covering her eyes crying with tears coming down her right eye.

She quickly wiped them 'Is she okay?' A thought echoed across Tenner's mind. Maly looked at Sapphire with her head cocked wondering what was going on.

"Sorry," Sapphire said in her usual tone of voice digging her inner turmoil and sadness down her heart while it was nearly tangible for Olivia. To her, it looked like a blue heart slowly being tainted with black ink.

'Why can't you just stop worrying about me?' Olivia said in her inner thoughts. 'It's not like you don't have any other friends. "I know you think you won't be fine without me but trust me you will," Olivia said, trying to console Sapphire.

'No, I won't being happy without you feels… wrong.'

That single sentence made Olivia feel as if she was abandoning Sapphire, leaving her behind unfairly.

Sapphire kept her eyes cover relying on her power for sight. "That's enough sparring for right now."
