Delia

Sapphire…

I then dropped my head on my pillow and slept. Waking up again, I was sore. "Class B or as you've been told, B-block, go eat some food, then go outside and run the obstacle course again. And no shooting each other in the back. This time, we don't need injured soldiers. We need good soldiers."

I lifted myself from my top bunk-bed and jumped off. The small bathroom was where I changed. I saw that the short-haired girl was just waking up and changing after stepping out, then I went out the door and walked to the cafeteria with B-block. Stamped right above it in bright yellow.

I saw that the breakfast was eggs with bread. Looking around, you could tell most people made it into a sandwich and ate it all at the same time with water. I got my breakfast plate and the lunch staff gave me the food. I sat down at a table with nobody there. This time the short-haired girl wasn't here yet but was just some people behind me in the line for food.

There weren't that many people here this time around. B-block doesn't have a lot of people. I could sense many almost exactly my level. I'm betting they evaluated all of us before actually assigning us to a block.

The short-haired girl sat down here, then another kid. I recognized his voice as I was picking with my food. The kid is named matt. I actually looked up and saw him. Ashy brown hair medium length with middle-part blue eyes. That's odd. When was the last time I saw somebody with blue eyes besides my mom and the king?

"Wow! You have blue eyes too?" I nodded. I just kept picking at my food. "What's your name?" He asked me curiously. I kept picking at my food, then picked it up again and started eating it halfheartedly.

I just started eating it because I wanted to avoid the conversation. Standing up then throwing the plastic plate away after I had finished eating, I went outside then ran the course as instructed. Since I had finished eating earlier than a lot of people, maybe I could finish this earlier.

Why is it always so rainy out here? I climbed up the wall and hopped over it. Next up the mud was. ice this time around. It was roughly twenty degrees (Fahrenheit.) So upon landing on the mud I slipped and tried to gain balance but landed on my chin. In, the end, I just slid off of it with my arms.

And landed on the already muddy grass and plain. I stood up and jumped over the short walls in the parkour area then saw that the pool was fully ice I ran and slid all the way on it from one side to the other and stopped my momentum by landing flat on my face after the frictionless ice wouldn't allow me to stop right on the edge before the forest trail started.

I tripped fell and kept running. This time I'm golfing for more of a jog for the long run. Right behind me, I could see Matt sliding across the pool just as I had. I was still pretty far ahead of him and kept jogging forward before I fell for another time.

Every step made a squishing sound as my black combat boots squished against the ground heavily. The course should be called hell's course because what's this supposed to be for, anyway? I sped up so I could finish this faster. I saw that none of the trees had leaves on them, yet it was raining so much here. Such an odd thing.

Since I'm not shot in the back, this time, maybe I can finish this without passing out from blood loss. I was getting close to the medical tent. When I had gotten close, I saw that somebody else was in there.

I walked in. I didn't need to get treated this time around. I just need some water after such a long run. "I need some water." Watching the nurse take care of another person after she finished, she looked at me. Gave me a bottle of water and turned back around and kept treating her patient.

Probably got sick after running in the rain. Putting the water to my lips, it tasted amazing drinking it all at once. I turned around and began my run back. It was quite simple actually, and I didn't fall or trip the entire way back.

But I was starving. I quickly ran back through the actual obstacle course and through the run, climbing the wall, then climbing back down. I was finally finished. The sergeant just clapped with a smile on his face. "Just as expected." "Since you finished first, go eat some food and have your free hour."

I walked back to the B-block cafeteria, then ate whatever they had there, which was just a sandwich and orange juice. I sat down in the empty cafeteria at a table in the corner. Then I heard some talking, and it was just the girl with short hair.

She came and sat at my table. She lightly waved at me, "Hi." The girl spoke in a quiet voice. "What's your name?" "Sapphire." I kind of hated my name now, knowing it was given to me by my father. "That's a pretty name." "What's yours?" I asked her. "Delia." "Cool."

She started picking with her food. It was a kind of awkward. "Quick question," "Yeah?" I responded, confused. "What would you do if you had to leave everything and everyone behind for nothing?" What does she think I'm doing right now? "Well, I'd be pretty sad." I responded. "Would you even want to talk to them anymore, knowing you had to leave them behind?"

"Nah, not really," I answered. "Is that all?" "That's all." She responded to my question. "So what do you think about this war in the first place? Should we even be in war? Are you against it?" I asked Delia, wanting to know her opinion about this war.

"Well, I think that we shouldn't even be in this war if we could avoid it somehow and just be at peace with them forever and never had to war again. That would be awesome, but that's not going to happen. We're just one of the unlucky generations that have to fight in a war."

"What if this entire war was for greed to create strife for more money because others are a bunch of truth-bending s***'s." "Well it still wouldn't be up to me to decide if I fight in the war or not although I'd be completely against it." The cafeteria started to fill up.

I finally got a good look at Delia's features. She had pink lips, eyes that looked purplish-blue eyes, brown hair at the top, and black at the bottoms of her hair. "Oh, interesting answer."

She scratched the back of her head. "Thanks, I guess." The food was cold already, but I was still talking to Delia.

We talked off and on until the B-block sergeant's voice radiated loudly through the PA system. "B-block, come outside to the big empty concrete yard." I have no idea what that is, but I'll find it. "With your armor."

I stood up and threw away my full plate of food. I wasn't hungry anymore, oddly. Delia and I jogged to our dorm room and put on our armors I put on my custom made armor. It felt heavy in a goodway then I looked at the mask that I had sworn that I would never wear again.

I had done to many bad things in it. I grabbed my black and red sword. Taking one last glance at the mask, I thought about the person who had given it to me. I found my way to the big concrete slab that was in understatement it was absolutely gigantic.

And everybody was sitting in a messy type of oval shape and it was starting to get irritating as I was bumping into many people in metal armours.
