Chapter 3: Boo!

I saw my from squinting his eyes at me for quite a bit of some time, as I could tell that he was not happy at all by the fact that I had stopped him from hurting the janitor that worked at the school. I knew Alexander thought of her as a bit of a joke to the school, as she was a very strange lady, but a lot of others said that some one had found her practicing witch craft.

I knew that it was more than likely a made up story, but it still kind of freaked me out a bit, as she was a very weird old lady. I looked back at the old lady one more time, as I watched her head down the hall way that we had just gone all the way down, past the ISS room that we spent a lot of days in, more often than not.

The old lady looked back at me, with a smile on her face, as I shivered as soon as I had seen her do as such, as it made me feel kind of sick. What if she did practice witch craft? I really would not rule it out of question, as it was a really weird city that I lived in, and I kind of wanted to go back to the old days of living in Montana.

But no... Of course my father wanted to go move here because he knew that he would get paid more here. It really did not work out all too well in the end for him, as the cost of living here was a lot higher than it had ever been there. I some times wished that we had never left that place, but at the same time too, I also knew that I would have never met my pal Alexander.

I blinked a few times, as I saw that the old lady was no longer on the other side of the hall way, as she must have turned in to another room if I had to take my best guess. Either way, it did not matter all that much at all to me any longer, as I shook off those thoughts, as I knew that Christmas was the holiday around the corner, and not Halloween.

I rolled my eyes, as it some times felt like I made my self go crazy a lot of the time, when I thought of things such as that. I sighed a bit to my self, as I thought back on my best friend Alexander, as he was the closest, and best of friends that I could ever ask for, as I knew that he always would have my back.

I grinned a bit at the same time too, as I all of the sudden then turned my head back over to him, to see what he was thinking of at this very moment. I knew that he had got a little bit upset at me for not letting him go after the old lady that was one of the school janitors, but I did not regret the decision that I had made, as I did not want to mess with a lady such as her.

For one thing, I was worried that perhaps the stories of her being a witch could might possibly be true, but for another, I also did not want to hurt the lady, as I knew that it could not just get in trouble with the school, but it could also get us in trouble with the law, and that was some thing that I for sure was not willing to risk.

I shook off all of those thoughts at the exact same time too how ever, as I looked at Alexander right in the face, to see that he did not seem to be upset any more, as to what I had just done, as it seemed like he was quick to get over that, as he seemed to be on a much different topic than he had been a few moments ago.

I saw that he was looking directly in front of him, with his eyes squinted at some thing, which I was not so sure as to what it was that he could even be staring at right now. I tilted my head, as I was a little bit lost as to what was going on with him. I knew that he had taken some strange shit at the party last night, but surely it would not have taken that long to kick in.

I sighed just a bit to my self, but also loud enough so that he could hear it as well, as I saw that he suddenly blinked a few times, which told me that he was not too out of it at this current moment in time. As he had heard me sigh at him as well, he turned his head over to me, as he looked at me with a bit of a blank look on his face, as if he was some sort of robot.

I rolled my eyes at him, as I shook my head at him at the exact same time too, as I was not so sure as to what was going on with him right now, or whether or not I should be worried for him. He seemed to be lost in his own train of thoughts, but that was very rare for him, so I could not be too sure about all of that either.

I stared at him for just a bit longer, as I saw him state right back at me. I kind of gave up at this point, and the same time as well, as I then put my finger right up to his face, and I then snapped my finger at him, as if I were telling him that he needed to snap out of it, which he did in fact need to do right at this moment.

He blinked a few times, as I then saw a normal look then come back to his eyes, as he tilted his head a bit, as he was clearly confused as to what was going on. I sighed softly to my self, as I then nodded to him, to let him know that I was getting ready to speak to him in just a few seconds.

He still seemed to be a bit out of it, but after perhaps 5 seconds of him doing nothing at all, he did in fact nod right back at me, as if he was telling me that he was listening, which I was not all too sure if that were in fact the case. I shook off those thoughts though, as I felt like it did not matter, as we needed to get out of this school as soon as possible.

I knew that the school did not want us to be in it, which was fair enough of course, because we did not want to be in this garbage school any ways. I kept my focus on Alexander, as I knew that we needed to leave soon, so I quickly began to speak to him, as I made sure that he heard me as well, as I spoke in quite a loud tone of voice.

"Come on Alexander... If you do have plans for Winter break, you sure are not acting all too excited about all of it." I said, trying my best to try to wake him up just a bit at the exact same time as well. He stared at me with a bit of a blank look on his face for quite a bit of some time too, as if he had not heard a word that I had just said.

I sighed, as I then rolled my eyes at him at the same time too. Perhaps he had not gotten to sleep in the ISS room such as I had, and that is why he was so out of it at this very moment in time. It would not surprise me either, as for some reason, he thought that he was tough when he did stupid things such as that.

Believe me, there were a lot of things that he had proven him self to be tough, but that was not one of them. That only seemed to make him look like an idiot if I was going to be honest with him. I had told him about it once before, but he had simply just shoved it off, as he had said, "I'm just not tired."

It was proving my point exactly, by the fact that he was trying to act tough for no reason what so ever. I felt like I should just give up on trying to change his mind set, because I knew even if I did try to do that, he would do the opposite of what I had said, as that was just in his rebellious nature to do stupid stuff like that.

I shook my head, as it kind of felt like this was one of these moments were he did not need to be like that how ever, and where ever we were going to tonight, I sure hoped that some one other than him was going to be driving the car. Hell... I would take Zachary over him right now, and he was an awful driver.

Of course, I could not say all too much about that, as I was 18, and I still did not have my license. I sighed a bit to my self, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time too, as I got my focus back on to the current task that was at hand right now, which of course, was getting us out of school.

I pushed on his shoulder to try to wake him up just a little bit at least, which did not seem to do all that much at first, until suddenly I heard another loud bell ring, signyfing that the after school kids needed to be in their stuff now, and not roaming around the school. I only knew that due to the fact that we had been messing around the school one time after classes, messing with some of the teachers desks.

It was a little fucked up looking back on it, but it was funny for the both of us at the time, as neither of us gave a shit about any one else that might just so happen to live in this world. I grinned at those thoughts, but I also then shook my head at the same time too, as it seemed like Alexander was finally aware of his surroundings thankfully.

Alexander looked me right in to my eyes, but this time I did not see a blank look in it, as I saw him all of the sudden nod to me, as if he was telling me that he had heard what it was that I had just said to him, even though we both knew damn well, that he had not paid any sort of attention to it.

I shook off those thoughts all at once how ever, as I knew that they were useless, as they did not help either one of us right now. I blinked right back at Alexander after just a few seconds longer, as he suddenly then nodded to me, letting me know that he was about ready to speak to me.

I looked at him for a few seconds, still not too sure if he actually was, but I did in fact nod right back over to him, to let him know that I was listening as to what it was that he had to say to me. He then began to speak to me finally, after quite some time of silence, as I listened as to what it was that he had to say to me at the exact same time as well.

"My bad dude... Just can't wait to get this started!" He said to me, as I looked at him right in to his eyes, as I could tell that he was lying. He had some thing different altogether that was in his head, as I could tell at first, due to the fact that he seemed to be so out of it, but now that he was trying to say that it was because he was excited about our plans, I knew for a fact it was some thing altogether different. I squinted my eyes at him, but I did not have all that much time to think on it at all how ever, as I then heard him continue to speak to me, and I had no other choice but to listen as to what it was that he had to say at the same time too. "Let's go... Zachary has to be waiting on us still..."

I looked at him for a few moments, as for some reason, I saw a bit of some sort of look of fear in his eyes. I wondered if he too was afraid of the janitor, just like every one else was in the school, and he felt like he had almost made a very big mistake, as if she was going to pull some sort of witch craft on us.

I rolled my eyes, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh at the same time too, as I was not all too sure as to what it was that I was even thinking on at this moment, as I did my best to try and clear my self from those thoughts in my head, as I did not even dare look back down the hall way as to where the old lady had gone off too.

I saw that Alexander had his eyes in front of him, as he seemed to be in the same state that he had been just a few minutes ago. I felt like I was about to give up on him, and go on with out him, but for some reason, I just could not help but notice the look that I happened to see in his eyes.

It looked like a genuine look of fear, as if this was in fact a Halloween party that we were about to go to, or perhaps a house of horror. But at the same time too, I had been to some of those with him before, and even those did not seem to scare them at all, at least no nearly as much as me.

Besides, this was Christmas, the time of giving, not Halloween, so I was not all too sure as to what was up with him right now. I kept my eyes squinted at him, as I was a bit suspicious of him, as I could tell that there was some thing that he was not telling me, which kind of annoyed me, due to the fact that I knew that we were best friends, and that we were supposed to tell each other every thing.

Alexander stared ahead of him for just a little bit longer how ever, until he all of the sudden finally turned his head back over to me, and he then nodded to me, as it was clear that he wanted me to follow him, where ever it was that he was about to take me. I kind of got shivers rolling down my spine, as I could not help but to be just a bit freaked out as to what it was that we were about to do.

I sighed just a bit to my self, as I nodded right back over to him, but at this point how ever, he was already heading down the rest of the hall way that we had been going down, to get to the front of the school, where Zachary's car was usually parked, as he paid for the school parking ticket for about 50 dollars a month.

It felt like a waste of money to me, as I knew that you could park a block away from the school for free, but I knew that Zachary's parents were rich, and he did not care at all. I shook my head, as I sighed just a bit to my self, as we kept on going down the hallway, until it led us to the cafeteria which was at the front of the school.

I could see the parking lot through the very large windows, as I stared through them, hoping to spot Zachary's car, but the parking lot was far too big to do as such sadly. I shook my head, as I continued to follow Alexander through the cafeteria trying to clear out all of the thoughts that I had been having, such as the janitor lady, and why Alexander was freaked out, which was not normal for him.

We got near the edge of the cafeteria, which was basically dead empty at this point, besides a few nerds playing some board games at some table that was not all too far from there. Normally Alexander liked to mess with them when there was no one around, but it seemed like today was not the day for all of that clearly.

I saw one of the kids notice us as we walked by, as he nudged his friends to get their attention, as they all just stared at us as we walked by. It was a bit freaky, so I jumped at them just a bit at the same time to, to try to freak them out, which did a fairly good job, but not nearly as good of a job as Alexander would have, due to the fact that he was so much bigger than me.

The kids went back to their board game as well, as they did their best to now ignore the both of us, as they realized that now was not the day that we were going to mess around with them. It was still a bit of a surprise to me, as I looked over at Alexander, as I could tell for a fact now, that there was some thing not quite right with him.

I had my head tilted a bit, for just a few seconds, until we all of the sudden got to the very end of the cafeteria, at the front doors, as we were about to head out of the school, for a long break away from all of this bullshit. I breathed in a long heavy sigh, as Alexander was about to open the door, until I heard a voice speak up from not too far away from us.

I was a bit confused, as I noticed the voice right away to be the principal at our school. We had not done any thing wrong for once, which confused me a bit as to why he had an upset tone in his voice. Perhaps there had been some one that was trying to frame us for some thing that we had not done at all.

It kind of upset me a bit, as we had been so close to getting out of school. I saw Alexander stop at the front door, but unlike me, he did not turn his head to the principal, to even let him know that he was listening. The principal did not seem to care at all, as he continued on speaking to the both of us, as I then listened as to what it was that he had to say at the exact same time too.

"Alexander and Harris... You 2 trouble makers don't get yourselves in too much trouble now will you?" He said to us, as I then realized that he did not have an angry tone of voice at all. Instead, I then began to realize that for some odd reason or another, he seemed to be laughing at the both of us, which kind of annoyed me.

I did not like to be laughed at, and I was tempted to tell Alexander to do some thing about it, but at the same time as well, I really did not want to get in to any more trouble, as we already had been today. Besides, as I looked at Alexander from the corner of my eyes, I saw that he seemed way to far out of it, as he did not seem to hear a single word of what the man had just said.

Alexander just seemed to be staring through the window, just as he had been doing whilst we had been in the hall way. I was not all too sure as to what was going on with my friend at all at this very moment, as I was starting to get a little bit worried about him, as this was not normal behavior to see from him.

The principal continued to laugh for quite a bit of some time, as I was nearly ready to yell at him, to get him to shut up, but I held my self in for the time being, as I was more just worried for Alexander right now, as I let all of my other thoughts go away, as I kept my focus on Alexander.

He just stared through the window, as it was clear that he had not heard a word of what the principal had said to him, as he had his eyes on some thing completely different, which I could not make out as to what it could be in the first place, as I looked out the window, such as I saw him doing.

I sighed just a bit to my self, as I all of the heard the principal cough overly loud, as it was clear that he was hungry for attention. I never liked this principal at all, even when I had been so to say, a good kid. He had always seemed to be an asshole, as well as a dude that was only out to get some sort of attention.

I had heard from some of the ladies at school, that he like to mess around with some of the freshman, but that was all just speculation, as there had been no proof of that at all, as no one had said any thing about being one of those people that had it happen to him, at least as far as I was concerned.

I turned my head over to the principal, as I was quite a bit upset with the man at the moment, as he was really getting on my nerves, which I felt like he was doing on purpose, as that was just how much of an asshole that he was. He was simply hungry to get my attention, and I was tempted to ignore him, but I felt like I had to say some thing in response for some reason or another.

I squinted my eyes at him, as I saw him lower his eyes to the ground, as I could tell that he could not hang with me at all, as he always had seemed to be a bit of a pussy of a man. I rolled my eyes just a little bit, which he had not seemed to notice, as I then finally after a little while longer, began to speak to him in a bit of a short little response.

"Oh don't worry... We will..." I said to him, as I could tell that for some reason, it seemed to get a bit in to his head, as it was not normal for to ever feel like the alpha male, but at this current moment, I could not help but to have that feeling flow through me at this current moment in time, as I was fairly certain that his man never felt like he was an alpha male.

I watched as he then turned his head away from me, as it was clear that he did not have any sort of response to what it was that I had said to him, as he then began to walk away, back to the front office of the school, to do what ever his lazy bum ass did in there, as I knew he didn't do all too much.

I felt like saying some thing such as, "What? Are you gonna cry?" But I held my self in, as I still knew that even if we were harder than him, he still had all of the power over the school on us, and he could easily kick us out of the school, which might mean that we would not get our high school degree, which I had wanted to get at the very least.

I had never really wanted to go to college, even back when I was getting good grades in school, so I was not all too worried about ever having to pay to get a college degree, as it kind of felt a bit useless any ways, if I was going to be real with my self. College just seemed to be a big waste of money to get a below middle class job and be forever in debt to your college degree.

I sighed just a little bit, as I shook my head at the exact same time too, as I then looked back over to Alexander, as he was still staring through the door way for some odd reason or another, as I still was not too sure as to what was up with my friend. Maybe when we met up with Zachary, he would start acting a little bit different.

Zachary always seemed to bring a relaxing move, and vibe in to the air, so I am sure that once we got out there, we were going to be fine. The problem was, how were we going to get out here in the first first place, if Alexander was going to be acting the way that he was at this very moment in time.

I shook my head, as I went ahead and made my move to try to do some thing about it, as I then pushed on to the shoulder of Alexander once again, to get his attention back on the present, as I was not too sure as to what was going on with him at this exact moment in time, as it did in fact have me quite a bit worried, as he was in fact still my best friend.

As Alexander felt me push against him, I suddenly saw him turn his head over to me, as he had his eyes squinted at me at the same time too, as if I was the one that was being suspicious at this very moment in time. It had me a little bit confused, as it was clear to me that he was the one who seemed to be so out of it right now.

I rolled my eyes at first, as it finally seemed to be that he realized what was going on around us right now, as he took a few minutes to look around as to see where we were at. Suddenly he then nodded to me, as I kept my head tilted for just a little bit more time, until I did in fact nod back to him.

Alexander let out quite the heavy sigh as well, as he stared ahead of him once again, just for a few seconds, right at the window, as at first, I was starting to get a bit worried that he was getting right back in to the same funk that I had tried to pull him out of, when I had pushed his shoulder a few seconds ago.

He seemed to stare out for just a few seconds, as he then turned his head back over to me, as he then began to speak up to me at the exact same time as well, as it relaxed me quite a bit, to know that he was finally awake, and aware if his surroundings, as I then listened as to what it was that he had to say to me in the first place any ways, at the exact same time too.

"Sorry man... I am just worried about this being a bad idea... I just... Well... I will let Zachary tell you what is going on when we get to him." He said to me, as I kept my head tilted a bit at him, as I wondered just what it was that the both of them had planned on doing for our Winter Break, as I shivered at the same time too.

Surely he was not trying to get me to do some heavy heavy drugs right? I had told him not to do any thing such as that, as it was not worth it. Based off of the look that I saw on his face how ever, as I could see that it was purely just a look of fear, I felt like that was not the case at all, and he did still remember me telling him that.

If that was not the case then, what was it that they were planning on doing then? I felt a bit sick at the thought of it, as there was plenty of scary things that we had done, but what ever it was that we were about to be planning on doing, this was by far going to be the worst of all of them.

I stared at my friend for quite a bit of some time, as I saw him shiver, just as I had done, which told me that this might be a very bad idea, what ever it was that they were thinking about doing. I shook my head, as I put my hand over to his shoulder, to try to get his attention back on me.

He stared through the window for just a little bit longer, until he then turned his head over to me, and he then nodded to me as well. I shook my head, as I kind of still could not help but to feel a bit sick. It was almost as if he was trying to get me to talk him out of it, like I always seemed to do.

I just was not too sure as to how I was going to do as such, if I did not even have a clue as to what it was that we were even getting our selves in to in the first place. I saw that he had his attention on me, as I knew that this was the perfect time to speak before he went back to looking through the window, which I did do so of course, as I spoke up to him, quite a bit louder than I usually did.

"Well... We can't just sit here and wait all day... Let's go!" I said to him, trying to get him to go on the move, as I was starting to get a little bit interested in what it was that he was so worried about in the first place, as this was not normal at all for him to be as freaked out as he was right now.

Alexander looked at me for just a few moments, as I could still see the genuine look of fear in his eyes, which I was not all too sure as to why that was the case, as he had always prided him self on being a man with out having any sort of fear, which did not seem to be the case at all at this very moment in time.

I was not sure whether to be freaked out about it or not, as I was always the one that was supposed to be afraid. I suppose that I did not know what we were getting ourselves in to just yet, so I could not tell my self that I was not afraid of what it was, as it very well could be some thing that was absolutely terrifying for all that I knew.

I shook off all of those thoughts how ever, as Alexander finally then nodded as a bit of a late response to me, telling me that he was ready to go ahead and go to Zachary's car, as he was the one that had taken us to school in the first place, such as he did most days any ways, as he was a fairly good guy in that aspect.

He had awful grades in school just like me and Alexander had, but for some reason, he never seemed to like to miss a single day of school, such as me and Alexander tended to do. I shook my head at the same time too, as I rolled my eyes at those thoughts that were going through my head.

I saw that Alexander was staring at me still for some odd reason or another, as I then realized that he was waiting for me to nod back to him, to confirm that I was ready to follow him over to Zachary's car, where ever he might have parked it after he had dropped us of at the front this morning.

I then nodded back to him as soon as I realized that was what he was waiting on me to do, as he then felt it safe to go ahead and open the front doors of the school finally. I let out a little bit of a sigh of relief, even though I felt like the bad part was still yet to come. I shook my head, as I then followed him out of the school.

The front side was basically empty at this point, as most of the kids had skipped school for one thing, as it was some stupid and simply Monday that the school district felt like it had to do before winter break, which made no sense what so ever to me, as we could have just carried on the Winter Break last Friday.

I shook my head, as I felt like I would never under stand the idiotic school system that we were under, as I shook off those thoughts, as I was simply just ready to get my Winter Break started. I could not wait to have 2 weeks off of school, as I grinned a bit to my self as those thoughts came through my head as well.

I was a bit lost in thought, as I was simply just following where ever it was that Alexander was taking us to, even though I knew that he had no idea as to where we were going to in the first place, as he had followed me straight to seminary this morning, so that we could pull a rude prank on our teacher in there.

Even though I knew that we were assholes for doing as such, I still could not help but laugh, as I let it out all at once, which I saw Alexander stop and look at me, as I could tell that he was quite a bit confused as to what was going on with me right now, as I could tell that what it was that he was thinking about at this moment, was not funny at all.

I rolled my eyes, as I kept on following him as soon as he looked away from me and kept on going down the parking lot. I sighed just a bit to my self, until all of the sudden, some thing popped out in front of us, nearly making me fall down to the ground with how much it had scared me, as I saw it made even Alexander jump just a bit, as I heard the voice yell at us.

"Boo!"
