patience is earned

Jane stood with her eyes closed for exactly 30 seconds breaking in and out slowly. This is a human experience, she said to herself in her head 5-4-3-2-1. She had learned this from a class in school. For the most part it worked. She opened her eyes and the man was already on his way to his destination. He abandoned her in the hands of his secretary. She stood there with the card still in hand. Covered in coffee with eight minutes left till boarding.

She quickly went to the bathroom. Luckily for her there was one close. Throwing the card away as she interned the bathroom. Jane thought to herself in a growing fashion. She took off her top and was glad to see her over sweater absorbed most of the beverage. She took off her undershirt and decided they where not worth the effort and grabbed a clean shirt from her pack. She only carried an extra pair of pants and a shirt because she had clothes at home. Traveling light would save her time and effort. Her mom would know what to do about the coffee stains. Jane decided it wasn't worth putting them the soaked top back in her pack. She thought of her electrics and books she had brought in her backpack. The decision was made and she quickly executed her decision.

Jane only had 5 minutes till boarding and was feeling the stress. She held her ticket in hand trying to not smudge any of the printing. If she couldn't tell she was stressed a quick glance at her bracelet would have given it away. It was now shining a aqua color instead of its normal satire. Jane didn't notice because it had become second nature to her. Only when she was board she would twirl it around her wrist. Other times she would shake her arm making it giggle. Other times in deep thought she would stare into the glowing stars. They seemed to calm her in a way nothing else would.

Jane made her way through the maze of people with a small white tank top on. She carried the common causal beauty seen in the airport. She had dressed a little warmer then usual. To be honest she was a little cold with the air conditioning. She knew it would be colder on the other side of her destination. She knew she would regret not having it with her. It was fine for now but she should probably text her mom to bring her a jacket.

Ticket in hand she was quickly placed in her designated seat. she slowly started to melt into her seat. She felt all the morning start to melt away. The unforeseen morning snuck up on her. Jane survived the circus that was called an airport. She never loved going to the airport but this was the first time she got covered in very warm coffee. At least he was a gentleman and waited till she was done eating. The silver lining was hard to find on a morning like today's. Jane sat back and closed her eyes. A flashback back of a movie played her her memory. A the lady got wine spilt all down the front of her dress. The look on her face was priceless as priceless as the dress itself. It made her smile and almost bust into laughter all because of her sister. Jane recalled her little sisters response. "Oh no, he didn't." Aww, now that was the good stuff. She quickly pulled her phone out and sent a fast test

On plane please bring jacket forget mine.

Jane thought that would be better then telling her mother that a man spilled coffee down her shirt. 1000 questions would fallow her. A legend would be born of a classic romance movie. Ugggg,! mom and dad had been married for too long she decided. Not that she would want it any other way. She would want to know about my relationship with the crazy coffee man. She would want to know if he was tall. Was he well built with muscles. Janes eyes would try their best to roll out of her own head. There was no relationship but of corse she would already be naming my first born child.

It is hard being the oldest in so many ways. It also seamed to make her mom baby hungry. She sees all the other ladies her ages with little grand babies. The grandma ticking clock had started or at least that is what Jane had decided. How in the world she haven't had enough with her own six kids was beside her. Jane thought the younger boys would have done her in. Her youngest siblings where the life of the house. She had only seen her mom looses all control of herself a handful of times. Her younger brothers where the only who could do such a thing.

Jane wanted to explore the starts before she explored men. She wanted to find herself and her place in the big vast world. She wanted to know who she was before she lost herself to the role of anything other then herself.

Mom would joke around by saying "the only man she would notice is an astronaut floating in the sky".Jane would reply "Ya because he is blocking my view. Mom!!!" She secretly like it. She loved that her mom knew where she was looking. She understand her in a way only a mom really could.

As much as Jane wanted to avoid the whole airport situation it was better then staying home. Traveling abroad was her idea. She did miss her family but there was adventure waiting for her. Well soon she hoped right now it was 16 credits and lab time but someday.

Jane soon got a quick text. Yes. which one or do you want me to pick. Jane sat there trying to decide. Her mom could be a bit of a ham from time to time. She really didn't care. Jane didn't own anything that she couldn't wait around public and feel self conscious. Even if she brought her the ugliest jacket she had; She would be safe. She quickly comforted herself so she simply replied.

Whatever is good.

What if she brought her sisters. They where the same size, Her face froze for a second. yuck! She hated that thought. Her sister loved bright orange. Jane always thought she looked like a traffic cone. That would be fitting for this day she thought. Jane decided to not torture herself. Thoughts of herself as a traffic cone where pushed away as soon as they entered her mind.

Jane had just put her phone away when she spotted him. The man that was carrying that lady's bags. The same man that stood behind her in the security line. He was walking towards her. He was a sight to be seen. This was the first time she got a full frontal view. Jane didn't hate it and her face blushed a little with that thought.

A slim to nothing chance, he would sit next to her. Thanks to her exploding hand or wrist to be exact. She looked around to locate the Air Marshal. There was no way he was a marshal. He lacked that key element of full emotional and physical control wrapped up in a handsome bun. She looked and they hid him good this time. Jane never entertained the idea there was no marshal this time. Jane's search was broken when he stopped next to her. He placed his items in the overhead compartment. She was staring she couldn't pull her eyes away. He lifted his luggage over his head with ease. His flat tummy with a small trail of hair peaked out from under his shirt. Her face was a little hot and she didn't mind. She just didn't want to get caught staring at him. She hid her face in her book to break her concentration. Contrary to common belief she did like to look at handsome men. She just didn't talk about it to anyone. He was going to sit with her. This realization made her heart flutter a little. Three almost four years and no one ever sat by her. Once an Air Marshal did but that didn't count nor did she mind it then either. She must have had the goofiest look on her face when she finally came back down to earth. She was in the starts and she shielded herself with a Greek god. Ah the godly man took his place next to her.
