Confession

Jane knew what he meant by asking her why she didn't fly first class. She only wished her parents could afford that. That would spare her from the four year old in front of her currently sleeping. She made note of this a kept her tone low. She didn't understand why they spent money on plane tickets as much as they did. Having six children was a large family. Yet on her father's salary they always seamed to have enough. They had set up a fund for her to go to college. She did return home and worked during the summers. She worked in the hospital bringing kids anything to get their mind off being away from home. Her mother was amazing at making money out of nothing. She taught her that if she wanted something there is no substitute for honest hard work. If she wanted something and didn't have the money for it she would find it.

Jane smiled at Trevor ? Maybe. At some point she should probably double check his name. Oh you mean this she said shaking her bracelet back and forth. This my friend, was a gift from a jewelry store. Free advertising for them all i have to do is sleep with it, eat with it, bath with it oh and of corse be it's everlasting slave. I also had to sign a paper saying i couldn't take any legal action if i get blown up.

Apparently i tried on a defective bracelet which is odd because they are all triple tested before shipment and once in the store before hand to keep this from happening. She let her emotions linger on her words. Jane smiled at herself she amused herself.

She loved to watch people's reactions when she told them the story. She hadn't told many people. There was always a look of dumbfounded expression when she did build up the courage. She loved it when they noticed that she wasn't rich and powerful. She half giggled to herself as she waited for his reaction. She was enjoying this. He proved to be more bold then she had first imagined.

Jane hated that this bracelet seamed to bring in a certain crowd who expected favors. When you give something of yourself to someone it shouldn't be expected or required. She also hated that it created rumors. Jane had a since of being different somehow as if she didn't belong. She felt like it kept people at a distance. She liked that it gave her space but she was still human and wanted human reaction. Jane hated that it seamed people would almost get board of her and forget her and stop talking to her. She figured it told her more about them then it did herself.

She played with the power her first year of college. It seamed her boyfriend would lose interest right about the time she really started to gain favor in her eyes. Jane never really got to the point where she couldn't imagine her life without a person. She did understand the feeling of loss and disappointment from people just leaving her life for no real reason. Getting ghosted was all to real it was powerful and hurt. She never confronted them she was taught to respect others. By respecting them you respect yourself words form her mother lingered in her thought.

Jane had no idea why she was sharing her story with man. In some way she wanted him to just see her not the bracelet. She might have overshot she felt like she didn't stop talking the whole remainder of the time. She needed to defend herself. Jane's honor was in question the moment he brought it up. She had never wished for a plane ride to be longer. When he put his studying material away and gave her all his attention she felt something she had never thought was possible. She felt like she was home and she hadn't even touch down yet. Jane had won and she didn't know how.

Jane told him about her two younger brother that where in junior high. Jane had helped take care of them when they where young. They where Dutch twins and as competitive against each other. They completed for the same girls. The same teams even the same friends. This drove the younger one to a whole new level of competition. The older one only became more confident in himself. He is a bit of a dare devil and has a Superman complex. They are best friends and at the end of the day. Nothing and no one could or would come between them. They where brother forever. They fight more between themselves then all four of us girls put together.

Jane loved the look on his face when she told him about the time her brothers decided to tame a wild raccoon. Her voice came alive. She felt good inside and you could hear it in her voice.

My little brother and baby brother found this raccoon in the forest next to our house. They had three neighborhood kids with them. It was washing its little hands in a puddle my little brother was fearless. With the buck and three fishing nets and a big stick they circled him.

All the boys with mud on their faces creeped closer. All the while the raccoon kept primping his paws. My brother leaped on top of him. Engulfing him in the bucket. The moment the bucket touched the ground it let out a hiss that rumbled below the cheering boy. They slid a board under the bucket and flipped it over.

All the boys hovered over the bucket trying to catch a glimpse through the foggy bucket. The raccoon pushed an all four corners and let out a sound that only her brother could truly mimic. It sounded like a Tasmanian devil and on the cartoon she watched as a kid. Yet with more feeling. Jane saw Troys head shake at where the story was going.

Jane continued her story after getting a reaction she wanted. He looked like he was relaxing. So the five boys decided they should share the raccoon since they all helped to catch him. They all got the raccoon for one day of the week and would rotate weekends. Then they named him Trent.

So since my brother caught him he got to go first. They snuck the raccoon into my brothers room closed the door and let it out so they could train him. Troy looked at her his eyes where wide with disbelief. His face said it all.

Jane continued on with the story. Well the raccoon went crazy and started climbing the curtains. So the boy with a stick knocked the raccoon off the curtains and it started jumping around on the beds and nightstands knocking off the lamps. My mom at this point went to go investigate. Troy was covering his eyes in disbelief.

She opened the door and the raccoon arched its back and hissed at her. All while the five boys where ready to attack the pore creature. She screamed and all four of us sister came running. Ten people stood feet away from this masked creature. I will never forget the look and the sound of my mother voice that day.

CATCH IT AND PUT IT BACK.

My baby brother blurted out "it is our pet" my mother was so mad. She looked at him and replied "over your dead body." She held every word out for effect and we could all feel it. All four of us girls just looked at each other. Our eyes wide with disbelief. We where seriously worried. The littlest sister started to cry. We all went to our room and cleared the way. None of us wanted to get caught in the wake of anger that flowed from our mother.

I watched from the window as my brother walked up the hill with a bucket. We had listening to the battle enrage in their room. All four of us crossed our fingers that they wouldn't get bit. Or clawed to death. All five boys came out without a scratch. When my brothers came back they where broken hearted that they couldn't keep Trent.

The three oldest girls all ragged on them for trying to capture a raccoon. My younger sister sat there with big eyes and asked how did you get it out. My little brother stood there with pride as he told his brave story. "We set the bucket down seeing what it was capable in our room the four others got way back. Then i released the wood lid and ran when i reached the group i turned around it was on a stump hissing at me his mask glared at me then it ran up a tree."

I think that is the maddest i have ever seen my mom. To this day if you bring up the name Trent. If you bring up raccoons or taming a wild animal she will go off on you. She even stopped capturing spiders and returning them to the wild.
