pajamas

Jane sat in her pajamas, the blankets tucked in tight around her. She knew full well that she was grounded to her bed. There was no point in asking, she knew it was a fact. Jane thought her mom was a little funny in her care. Hope was more then ready to perform a prison break and free her from the hospital. Then have her confined to her room only hours later. She was definitely a helicopter mom and Jane took refuge in the extreme care that she offered.

Jane was happy for the change. The beds that harbored her when she was healing was impossible. The bed was designed to help with circulation and to increase her odds of survival. The flip side was it made it impossible to sleep. The thirty percent incline made it impossible to sleep on your side or stomach. She was always a little cold and the blankets where barely enough to keep her from freezing. With all the cold fluids going into her body to keep her hydrated, she could barely keep herself from shivering. Jane was delighted when her mother showed up with a blanket on the first day. It became her never ending comfort.

Jane took her meds her mom gave her and ate her lunch. She had seen her sisters already this morning and was awaiting her brothers to pop in any minute. The morning was full of chit chat that reached every corner of conversation. She heard that the twins where planning something special, she was excited and worried at the same exact moment.

They where a handful and Jane had an odd bond with them, more then siblings and less then a mother. She remembered them so young and eager for attention. They had changed so much in these last few years. It was odd to see them so tall, they seamed to triple in hight. Jane knew that they probably only grew six to eight inches but it seamed like three feet.

Jane wiggled around in her blankets to find that sweet spot, just as the door creeks open. She could barely hold back the laughter as one of the boys entered her room in his underwear. He had a hand towel hanging out of the from and back of his underwear. The underwear and hand towels where red and Tray showed no form of embarrassment. Jane shared it for the both of them. Her face turned rosy at the awkwardly hilarious sight. He had red paint on his face and a headband of colorful feathers. He clearly had help from one of the sisters and Jane had a pretty good idea on which one. Fawn was always behind anything that could shake Jane from the comfort of her own reality. This was definitely one of those moments.

I am chief Make-U-better from the tribe of No-Die. He folded his arms in front of him. And started to walk dramatically around her room lifting his knees really high.

I am here to ask you How….. are you doing. He placed his arm in a square position showing a raised hand as he said How dramatically. Then he starting to stomping around her room, lifting his knees high in the air with his arms out straight. Jane could barely contain the laughter from escaping her lips. She knew this was just the beginning and her laughing would only encourage the level of silliness that she was about to experience.

Tray then called out yi yi yi in a chant. Moments later Tommy showed up in a dress and a princess crown. Lacy had done her magic and Tommy no longer looked like a boy. This was a full scale production. Fawn had called in the troops. It make Jane delighted to know they all missed her and was happy that she survived the ordeal.

Tommy pulled out a pink wand that had been hiding in the toy chest. That items had been tucked away in the storage room from many years past. She had seen it before but right now it seamed more then just a lost trinket it seamed familiar. At that moment a small flash of something struck Jane. She pushed it aside and forced her focus back to the silly situation. She kept having this feeling that dreams seamed off lately almost like she was reliving a childhood memory that wasn't hers. The worst part was that everything around her seamed to spark then. Sometimes they where just for a split second and others would stop her in her tracks.

Tommy entered the room bouncing around in his best impression of a princess. He spoke with the highest voice he could muster, Did the Chief Make-U-better do the dance to the sky god. Tommy was trying to dance on his toes. Tray responded you are not the sky god of Make-U-better. He spoke in a deep bossy and disappointed voice.

No I am princess Make-u-better. Tommy responded in a defensive voice. My father lord Make-u-better is busy….. he held out the word busy, for at least 10 seconds in a bossy voice. If you don't want my wish i can leave. Tommy started dancing towards to the door.

It is fine if the princess cast her wish, i guess. Tray responded in a deflated voice. Just don't mess it up again. Tray said sharply, I don't want to be know as the chief that turned a girl into a toad.

Oh you turn a prince into a frog once and you will never live it down. Tommy rebutted and fluffed his imaginary hair. I fixed that too, everyone forget that part. I don't know how they do since they have movies and books about it. Jane couldn't help but laugh a little. Tommy held out a wand and started his chant. As he did visions started to play in her head, they swirled and swirled around in her making her extremely tired.

Everything else because foggy and the two bounced out of the room. Jane Laid her head down and drifted off to sleep. Her dream world welcomed her and she was soon lost in the land of slumber. Only to find her in one of those dreams that seam too real for comfort.
