The bro code

Cameron was given orders he felt completely guilty about. Even though troy and himself where on shady terms, he still really liked the guy. He was his bro even if he didn't act like it. He knew that all Troy needed was time. Cameron had faith, Troy would come around. If he just couldn't make the transition, Troy would end up in a different kind of hospital as a long turn patient. Cameron knew all to well the consequences and had only heard of one person who cracked. It was before Cameron became part of the team. She had a family ripped from her finger tips. This is why only people who had nothing left in this world joined their team. This was the major factor that kept Troy from the team years before. His amnesia was his only protection and sole salvation that kept him in the bliss of the average man.

Jane may have given Cameron the power to overcome his demons and heal his body. Russel gave him a home to reinvent himself. Other team members came along and gave him a family. Troy started all of this long before Jane shook his hand. An injury he got the moment he was released from the shackle. Cameron made all the same mistakes a person makes when desperation and brotherhood ruled your life. slowly his arm became strong again. His uncontrollable urges slowly disappear. He remembered the feeling as bright as day. The only way he could explain it was like a pain killer as it started to take hold. Even with all that Cameron truly knew he would have been fine without her because he met Troy. Troy changed his heart and that simple fact made him always feel indebted to him. Cameron woke up in the hospital and Troy haunted him. It was at that moment that he knew he had to change himself. That clarity stayed with him and never wavered. Cameron didn't want to break the bro code. This was his girl even if he just realized it. They both had been looking for each other.

Cameron sat back and watched her from a distance, taking all the same classes as Jane. Cameron only wanted to get involved as much as was required. In the reality Troy knew almost nothing about what Cameron did. Troy probably thought he was locked up in his room. He did spend a lot of time in there but what he didn't know was that he could come and go without him knowing. Cameron had his own elevator entrance. He felt like Superhero every time he slipped out used it. Batman to be exact, slipping away to preform shady business for good of human kind.

Cameron job was to make friends with her and keep her away from Troy. Cameron had his own personal opinion of the situation and knew keeping them apart would be easy without getting involved. The second part of his job was to keep anyone else from getting close to her. This was something he had to do in person. She seamed to attract wayward boys without even realizing it. He didn't have to be romantic with her or anything, he told himself. All he had to do was hang around her all the time and all the other men would get the hint. if Jane developed a romantic relationship, no one knew the extent of what would happen. It was decided and they all decided it wouldn't be good.

Russel was afraid that if she used her powers again she would create too many antibodies and this time the serum wouldn't stop them. The problem with too many antibodies is they will attack and not always in a good way. She had avoided any long turn complications and Russel was going to keep it that way. So far they had been lucky, now they needed a cure. Her bracelet was turned onto full power. Her body was going to destroy her from the inside out. She was kept not knowing the danger she was put herself in everyday. Innocence of is bliss. All Russel wanted for her was a normal life. If he had to move a mountain range for her he would do it.

Cameron approached Jane, he didn't know why but he felt nervous. He had been building up the courage for the last week. He blamed it on not wanting to disappoint his friend. He blamed it on timing, the last thing he wanted to do was act creepy. He would fail his mission for sure. Cameron took one last big breath as he started to speak to her. All the crazy thoughts of rejection surfaced into his conscious mind. He could smell his deodorant and it started to swirl around him. He prayed that he was the only one who noticed. He kept a small smile on his face. Not to big to be creepy and not to small to look shady. As Jane spoke back all Cameron could hear was the blood rushing through his ears. Making a small ocean that drowned his thoughts.

Cameron was sure he made a study date despite his body's betrayal. He thought about how he would start the non romantic study date. He still couldn't believe he was doing this. If it wasn't him it would be Steven. The only other person their age. Cameron hated Steven, mostly because all the women loved him. Ugg he hated him and all his freckles.

Cameron told himself he was doing this for Troy. He knew he had his back and that would be more then he could say about Steven. Even his name was dumb, Steven. One day he would get even with that Steven. Maybe it would be today as he stood his girl. Russel had weighed the option of placing Steven in her life as a possible love interest. It was Hope who had convened Russel otherwise.
