The Festival

Today is the first day of the festival that I have mentioned in the last chapter. I wake up very soon, at 5 a.m., to prepare the best costumes I have ever had. However, my old-aged teacher does not like my favourite clothing. She persistently wants me to wear a long dress instead of a jumpsuit. In her thought, a cultured woman could not hang out with a sloppy jumpsuit. I do not think I have to tell her that the last time I wore a dress was more than ten years ago.

After hearing a stupid thing from me, she asks me to open the wardrobe and take the first dress on the left. I have to withdraw all my words when trying on that clothes. It is not only elegant but also a casual suit. It is a dress that is based on the retro style. The colour of this dress is bright brown. In my opinion, this costume is a mixture between a boat neck shirt and a long, pleated skirt. My teacher advises me to bring a small hat and a black umbrella along. I have prepared a small breakfast and enjoyed it together without asking anything about Jun.

Finishing the meal at half-past six, I walk along the way to the beach. I have never thought that everyone has woke up very early to have a chance to try every activity of the festival. I have been stood in place for a few minutes to see people happily spending time together. Suddenly, Rosalie shouts at her store to get the attention of the others around the ships. Many visitors photographing the ships gather at the only bakery in the town to try all the different kinds of cakes sold during the festival. That makes a noisy atmosphere in front of the store.

After standing in place, I have an intention to enter the market which sells many historical memorabilia. Incidentally, I bump into an acquainted friend and drop the necklace of that person. I try to call that person back, but that goes away without looking back. I try to follow that, but that is in a crowd in front of the bakery. Therefore, I can not hustle to find a stranger because I don't want to hear any comments on an unpolite action at an important festival.

I continue going on the way to the market. It's a small and quiet place. At this time, I hear no noise made by crowded lines in front of the store. An old salesman goes out and asks me what I find. I tell him to find a model of a navy boat of the German army which appeared in World War II. Then I go around the market and look at many old photos taken in many famous documentaries.

A young girl goes into the market and has a small conversation with the salesman while looking at all the pictures drawn in the eighteen century. Suddenly, that girl goes to my place and asks me to go with her without giving any reason. I refuse. However, something unexpected happens.

"It's such a shame to know that there is a robber in this fair."

That's what she said. I can't understand anything happening now. If she is the owner of the necklace, she can ask me to return it directly. I wonder why she makes up a very unbelievable rumour like that. I think that's such a waste of time. Whether she wants to do that, she must do something better. It's at least better than making up a stupid story like what she's doing at this time.

"Prove it, girl. You are just as old as the daughter of my friends. Be careful with what you are saying."

I stare at her, point my index finger at her face. Although that youngster knows how to make a good impression with her beautiful appearance, her behaviour is extremely annoying. I don't think she has visited the library before. She is not only arrogant but also thoughtless. I will never be shocked if I hear a rumour that she used to be in jail. That kind of person always makes a sin without thinking about the effects after the instant satisfactorily.

"I see you are holding a necklace of mine without my permission."

What she said makes me laugh loudly without caring about the others' reactions. I know that's not a good reaction to such a funny story like that, but I can't stop myself from laughing.

"Such a nerd who always stays in the palace. You don't know how to behave, do you?"

"At least, I am better than a youngster dropping her important thing without looking back."

Although I am very calm when facing her, I have a strange question in my mind. I can not know how she finds out where I live without being one of the locals.

"You should thank me soon. Give me what is in your pocket."

Not only do I stand in place while giving the necklace to her, but I also leave her away without either question or answer. Now my mind is full of questions about Jun, the parcel and that girl.

"If you have an intention to ask about the parcel, I'm not that person."

Those are many last words of hers before going out.
