What to Reveal

Eden leaned in closer to Noel, the other man staring at him, confusion written all over his face until they heard a 'bonk'.

"What the fuck!?" Eden shouted, turning to see Ages standing there with a plate in his hands that he used to hit Eden with. "Ages! What the hell do you think you are doing?!?"

"I get that you are excited and the atmosphere feels right, for some reason." Ages said, putting the plate down on the table. "But we are not here for you to make out with him."

"So mean." Eden pouted, putting his arms around Noel's shoulders. "Look at what I have to put up with all the time, Noel. Don't you pity me?"

"Should I?" Noel typed out, getting a gasp from Eden.

"I thought you cared, Noel. You really hurt my feelings." The man said, dramatically flailing his arms everywhere. "Well, now that you are here, want to order anything?"

"To eat?"

"Well, yeah." Eden pushed his way to Noel's side of the table and took a seat there, smiling. "Or do you want something else? Wait, do you want this restaurant? I coul-"

"No thank you." Noel typed out quickly, sighing as he took his seat.

"Alright, is there anything you want to eat?" Noel asked, handing the tablet to him. "Did you even have anything to eat before?"

"I did. Two cakes and coffees." Noel typed out, staring at the stake, mouth-watering. Though he was thrown off completely when he saw the price.

"Do you want this?" Eden asked, putting the stake into their order. "I think you'll like fries too. And maybe … this. Oh, and this too. And this."

"I think that's enough, boss." Ages said, noticing the zoned-out look on Noel's face the more items that Eden added to order.

"Huh??" Eden glared at Ages. "What? I am not allowed to treat my boyfriend, is that it?? I never said a word to all of you on your dates and this is how you repay me? I will order whatever Noel wants."

That's not it. Celt thought, turning to the 'boyfriend' who looked like his life was sucked out of him just staring at the tablet.

"The boss has always had this bad habit of treating everyone when he is in a good mood. No matter the price, why is this bad?" Fern asked, whispering to Celt as they watched Eden add even more items to the order while scolding Ages.

"Look at the man beside him," Celt said, pointing to Noel. "Unless you are someone used to the boss's lavish spending, the numbers on the bill will be enough to give anyone a heart attack."

"He does look concerned," Fern said, turning from Noel to Eden, the two making eye contact.

"What do you want?" Eden snapped at him. "Think I should stop too?"

"No," Fern said, pushing his glasses up. "I think it is wonderful that you like to spoil your boyfriend like this."

"Fern?" Celt spluttered, staring at the man. That isn't what you are supposed to say!!!

"But I have to wonder," Fern said, looking at Noel. "You have a date with him later right? Eating too much now, won't it ruin his appetite?"

Eden paused and thought for a second, a smile coming on his face, "You are absolutely right, Fern! Why didn't I remember that? It would have been such a problem."

Looking at the tablet, Eden cleared all the things he ordered and turned to Noel. "Here, choose anything you want to eat. This is part of my treat."

"I don't think I have an appetite right now." Noel typed out, giving Eden a wary smile. "Maybe a little later, is that ok?"

"Sure," Eden said, putting the tablet away. "That is completely fine too. Shall we get back to working then?"

"Ok." Noel typed out, pulling his computer out of his bag and placed it on the table as he began typing away. "Now, why do you need me?"

"Before that!" Eden stood up and turned to them. "There should be proper introductions. Don't you think?"

"Right." Noel typed out, holding his hand out to the men in front of him. "Hello, I am Noel Sasin, also known as Whisper. It is a pleasure to meet you all."

Eden watched closely as the men began introducing themselves, shaking Noel's hand.

"I am Ages Hayes, second in command to the boss." Ages started, giving him a firm handshake.

Purely business, good. Eden thought, nodding in approval.

"I am Fern Palmer." Fern went next, giving him a lazy handshake.

Disinterest, good. Good. Eden thought again. No, wait, why is he disinterested with Noel? He is interesting!

"A-and I a-am, I am Celt Howell," Celt said a little too excitedly, holding onto Noel's hand for a little too long. "It is very nice to meet you!"

He's holding his hand for too long. Eden thought, seething at the hands in front of him for a couple of seconds before getting to his feet and pulling them apart.

"Ok. Ok. That is enough." He said, pushing Celt back while holding Noel's hand tightly. "And you already know who I am. The charming leader of the Aberrants. Someone so difficult to obtain but look at that, I am right in front of you. Holding your hand. Don't you feel honoured?"

All three stared at Eden, a bit of disgust and worry written on their face as they turned to Noel, expecting the same expression or worse.

It was worse.

"Yeah," The man typed out, tucking a stray hair behind Eden's ear as he smiled at him. "I could never fully explain just how honoured I feel. Aren't I lucky?"

"Ahum." Eden turned from him, clearing his throat as the three watched their boss's face turn flustered. "A-anyways. We can begin now."

"No way," Celt whispered to the two as they redirected their attention to Noel who was calmly typing away at the computer like nothing happened.

"He blushed??" Fern asked, trying to keep his voice low. "No matter who complimented him, the boss would never blush."

"Forget blush, he was literally flustered that he stuttered." Celt giggled, turning to Ages who was looking at Noel with a gaze that almost was like he was trying to see into his soul.

"Something wrong?" The voice from the computer asked as Noel stared right at Ages. "You have been staring at me like a hawk."

Everyone in the room paused and turned to Ages, even Eden suddenly turned serious.

"You are wondering about me and my motives, aren't you?" The voice on Noel's computer asked.

"I am wondering about that." He said, looking right at Noel. "There is so much we don't know about you, not a single information about you, no matter where we looked. It doesn't help that you and the boss meeting seems like such a coincidence."

"You might have found something if you looked harder." Noel typed out, raising an eyebrow at the man. "But for the coincidence, I thought the same too.

"Then a thought came in my mind, could Eden have met me on purpose last night? Because it was one of his men that lead me into the room he was, coincidentally going to be in. Don't you think it is suspicious for me too?"

"I can't deny that." Ages said, running his hands through his hair with a sigh.

"Do you … still think that?" Eden asked, looking at Noel who offered him a comforting smile and patted his cheek.

"The thought came and I had no way of confirming or denying this accusation. But … I trust you. I don't know why, you can ask me to explain but I won't be able to. I just trust you." Noel typed out, looking at everyone in the room.

"You came and revealed yourself to us, right?" Fern asked, looking from Ages to Noel. "Didn't you realise that someone here could reveal your identity to the public?

"There are a large number of people, powerful and with the means, that want you, or, more specifically your skills. Once your identity is found out, you could be in danger for the rest of your life."

"Really?" Celt asked, turning to Fern. "Really, really? Is he that wanted?"

"He is." Ages confirmed for them. "So much that you can see millions of rewards place for anyone that finds Whisper's first name. You took a great risk revealing yourself to us."

"I trust you." Noel typed out, looking at Eden. "And the people you brought, enough to show my face. This is my way of showing that I don't believe that accusation of you and … that I did not plan our meeting beforehand."

"I hope, this is enough to prove my innocence."

"Noel," Celt said, getting teary-eyed. "Of co-"

"Noel. You certainly did take a great risk revealing yourself like that. You really are an idiot aren't you?" Eden said, voice turning as serious as his expression.
