He is a child
Bureau same night, 1AM-
There in bureau Ayush is doing overtime duty…
He completes a file (he has successfully finished naming the criminals who had gone underground and whose records had been deleted from police records)
Ayush: " And with this one task ends… I can't believe all these people are alive. And they have been spotted..."
Kavin: " In fact, crime rate is increasing because of them Ayush... and the police was feeling so much tension because of them …"
Ayush: "I hope ACP sir don't find faults in our work…"
Kavin: "Rest assure. He won't find. First let's take a break…You want coffee?"
Ayush: "coffee, at this time?"
Kavin: "it's better than tea."
Ayush: "hmm..."
Kavin: "you stay... I will bring it for you…"
Ayush: "aw but no thanks man..."
Kavin: "Idiot! I know you are also tired…and it's not a favour for you…"
And Kavin walks off to get coffee as Cafeteria was closed long ago…
And so Ayush sits in his chair… takes a breath, trying to relax… then opens his drawer and picks up his favorite photo from childhood.
Ayush: "hey Billi…how are you? I know you slept…right? You know how happy I am to know that you are sleeping somewhere safely and that you are alive…(smiles) Really friend; When that officer said that you were dead… for a moment, my world was shattered…
Ayush: " Now don't think that l got time to remember you in such a night, what is the need to remember those who do not forget…"
Ayush: "Today I need to work overtime with Kevin. Kevin… my bestie! He is crazy! He is thinking that I am in love with you... I just kept your photo in desk… honestly! What does he know how deep our friendship is and how special you are for me? But… seriously love! Now what else to say…when can we meet? Ahh ok Kevin will be coming. If he come and see, he will start teasing me as if there is no tomorrow. So good night!"
And he places the photo inside just as Kevin comes. They share coffee and get back to work.
Next day- 8 AM
Saryu reaches bureau early. The smile on her lips only widening with her lips…
The scene inside makes her smile, turn into a grin…
Across the room she sees someone fast asleep sitting in a chair.
Ayush! Isn't he adorable… with some of his hair falling onto his forehead, sleeping while hugging the file, looking like an innocent kid hugging his teddy?
Saryu: "the evil-demon is sleeping…" (smiles big)
Saryu: "why did he came very early to work. There is no one! I think... he slept here after working overtime. My Bhaalu..."
She goes near to him... she reluctantly brushes some hair away from his face… carefully so that she doesn't wake him up!
Saryu: "Oh man Bhaalu! You are right in front of me! And I searched for you God know where! Is it fate?" (Laughs in a low voice)
Saryu: "so hmm…you are now grown-up man! Your looks are not less than a hero! And with the hair on your face like this, you are looking cute…"
She adores seeing her best friend from up close. For the first time she's staring at him from such a short distance, bending over his chair a little… she refrains herself from pulling his cheeks and clicks a photo.
Saryu: (murmurs adoring his pic) "you are very cute and sweet! I don't know how I will be able to call you Bhaalu now!
She says it a bit aloud and he stirs… she backs off as he wakes up with a jerk…
Saryu smiles…
Saryu: "Now look Bhaalu, how I will bother you. After so many years we met, something interesting should be there, right Bhaalu?" (smiles)
He smears his eyes...
Ayush: "hmm Saryu? You here… this early?"
Saryu: "Good morning sleepy-head!" (smiles)
Ayush: "sleepy-head? You called me sleepy head..." (shocked)
Saryu: "haw! What sir! Does anyone talk to their senior like this? I said good morning sir! Wake up! And listen carefully..."(pouts)
Ayush: "right oh-"
He gets up wondering where Kevin is… and goes to look out for him.
Saryu laughs at the joke that she played. This is just the beginning...
Kavin: "Saryu... this much early?"
Saryu: "good morning sir...I came early just like that. You, here- "
Kavin (cutting her)- "overtime! Where is my friend?"
Saryu- "maybe he left to search for you".
Kavin- "My friend behaves like a child! He always rome here and there."
Saryu- "umm sir…did he found his friend?"
Kavin: "Who Billi? Who knows where she is! But one thing is clear that she is alive..."
Saryu(confused): "Alive means..."
Kevin: "someone told that Billi and her family were dead in Punjab in a car accident... So, he just sat and cried in the rain…"
Saryu- "cried in rain? You mean that day... in rain…"
Kavin: "Yes! And when we went to Punjab, we found out that the Billi's family is actually alive. Somewhere those people went underground …
Saryu grimaces, she remembers that attack on their car... how they survived and how they fled from Punjab…
But Ayush... bhaalu was crying that day... because of that news!? How sweet… she smiles as she remembers her upset face and because of the fact that she could cheer him up that day.
Kavin goes on.
Kavin: "You know... after he heard that news...he became happy and hugged me like a child... he behaves like a child know Saryu!"
Saryu laughs while Ayush enters scolding Kavin…
Ayush: "You are a child Kavin…you always speak nonsense.... come... let's go to home to fresh up… Saryu...take care of the files…"
Saryu- (smiles) yes sir!
And she watches them leave with a smile.
Saryu (self-talk) – "Really how sweet the my Bhaalu is… Haha… there is a lot of fun in this hide and seek game…"
She shakes her head and tries to focus on work.
