LET’S MEET OUR DEMONS
The day I was born was quite peculiar; I was told it rained cat and dogs that day combined with an ellipse of the sun. It was quite an unusual day and the whole happenings that day definitely did something to me. Well I can't really say if it was what happened that did something to me or if that day's incidence happened because of me. Maybe it was a kind of celebration to commemorate my birth or something, I'm not what sure it is yet but I'd find out soon enough.

"Hi, Lisa. Are you already leaving for lectures? My dorm mate Rachael asked
"No, not yet. I'm just going out to get something." I replied almost immediately
I was a student of Line University. A 300L medicine Undergraduate to be precise. I had quite an eventful childhood. I could see ghosts, demons and even evil spirits (They are the spirits that fled the dungeon), and even angels occasionally. At first, I tried to tell my parents and friends about my escapades but they'd look at me as though I was crazy. Soon, I learnt it was wiser to keep records of them in my diary. In my 22 years of existence, there hasn't been a day when I didn't experience something extraordinary. I even found out that one of my classmates in high school was a demon. I already knew something was off about her but I couldn't pin point what it was.
*Demons had the ability to take on human form. Their disguise is so perfect that it was impossible for a mere human to notice. Only special humans could see their true forms and these forms are only revealed when the demon is provoked and loses control.
I was a special human as you rightly guessed but I wasn't able to unravel the mystery surrounding her until graduation. She found out her human boyfriend had been cheating on her. You are probably wondering how this was possible because demons are supposed to be able to dominate humans.
*But just like humans, demons and angels alike had hierarchies and ranks. Their powers differ and is more powerful the higher your rank. There were five levels;
• The first level, were almost powerless and couldn't survive outside hell
• The second, were a little more advanced, they could survive outside hell, come to the human world but were completely harmless.
• The third level could take on a human form, live among humans, look completely normal and even get married to a human if they wanted. They were harmless until they get provoked.
• The fourth level, were very powerful. They could hypnotize, manipulate memories, cast spells and possess humans within a split second. They sometimes lived amongst humans but were extremely rich and arrogant.
• The fifth rank is reserved for the devil, the lord of darkness himself.
These ranks are usually acquired by birth so the rank of the child depended on the rank of the birth parents.
This particular demon was a level three so she was unaware of her human boyfriend's betrayal. Someone had tipped her off about her boyfriend's secret rendezvous. She caught them red handed. They were kissing in the school balcony; I had secretly followed her when I saw how her eyes changed after hearing reading some text on her phone. Her eyes were blazing with fury literally, but I was the only one that could see it. She almost exploded with rage when she saw them.
"Richard! What are you doing here kissing this weird looking blonde?"
He couldn't answer her, she was strangling him.
The fire alarm suddenly went off; I was too engrossed in the show before me that I didn't realize the school was already in flames. She had set the school on fire; everyone ran out including me since I wasn't immortal. I later heard that they went missing, the cute demon, her boyfriend and his side chick. They were never rescued and their bodies were not found till date.
My high school graduation was ruined just like that but I wasn't sad, I was actually very satisfied with my discovery. I later found out that I was really lucky; she would have killed me if she had found me hiding and watching them quietly. Their anger was really terrifying, she probably took her boyfriend and his little blonde on a trip to hell where she would torture them until her anger was pacified.
Ah!
I'm late for my morning lectures, I've got to go.
