Memories Part 2

Previously:

Mace felt a kinship and sorrow after witnessing this memory.

sadness enveloped Mace, "this is too much..." he thought

Tora was once again kicked away from the city and returned to his old worn-out shed, instructed to wait a year before returning.

Unfortunately, that time was never to come...

Present:

He’d reluctantly kept his feeling bottled up for a long time because of his weakness but to be treated this harshly by everyone and not to mention seeing his supposed dear friend with his worst enemy was too much.

…On that night back...

Tora, tearful and drunk..

Stumbled into the shabby little shed he called home....

He took a moment to have a deep thought....

Tick...Tock...

time went by slowly as he attempted to put his thoughts together in his drunken state.

After an hour of deliberation and drinking...

finally, he thought that it was time...!

"This life was not the one to live" he thought, " and even if I were to be gone, no one would be missing me."

He took a large gulp before smashing the glass across the wall...

He pulled out an elixir glass container that he'd recently purchased with what little wealth he had left and carefully read the name written at the front.

It said, “Rosa's No.1 Sleeping Pills! " and underneath wrote "Take 1 and you’ll have the best sleep of your Life!”.

At the back had a warning that Tora didn’t care too much to check.

He’d thought of killing himself before but was to frightened at the thought. This time was different, with him drunk and depressed, he’d built up the courage and decided to take 9 pills at once.

All most immediately, a large headache struck him, cutting out all air leading to his brain. The glass bottle rolled out of his loosely gripping hand, revealing the back side of the bottle.

There, it wrote in bold,

“WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE MORE THAN ONE. THREE WILL HIGHLY LEAD TO SUFFICATION! ANYTHING MORE WILL CERTAINLY KILL THE USER IF THERE’S NO IMMEDIATE MEDICAL MAGE AROUND!”.

Tora… Ultimately breathed his last 15 minutes before Earth's Mace arrival…

“That’s the cause for the extreme headache I’ve felt…"

"Oh hell why care for that now; this is a sad sight…” Mace thought, practically tearing up after witnessing the tribulations and pain that Tora had felt alone in this world.

Mace had always lived a hard life but this; this was something way rougher than anything he’d felt.

“Though I’ve never fallen in love nor never had a real family except the orphanage, I’m glad that this wasn’t my family. I’d rather have Mother Maria and my orphanage sisters and brothers.” he sighed with relief.

Heart break was something he feared during his old life as well as the feeling of being abandoned.

“No!” he abruptly cut off this thought,

Mace took a deep sigh...

“You were me in this world and I’ve taken control of this body now. I’ll take responsibility now"

" So your problems are mine and your heartbreak... I too shall make it mine to mend"

"The anger and rage you’d felt from the years of torment... WE will pay it back together so your soul may rest easy” Mace from Earth assured Tora.

Silence engulfed the room and mind of Mace...

“Thank you…” said a familiar yet tearful voice before soon disappearing, leaving a drop of tear on the right shoulder of Mace.

Mace got startled upon hearing this voice but calmed down after realising it sounded like the voice of Vira’s counterpart from the memories, reaching out to him one last time before departing from this body.

“You were here.” Mace said, expecting a reply.

After a few moments of silence, he’d realised that Tora's soul had departed.

“Don’t worry, watch from the heavens and see how I deal with those who’ve wronged you and left you. Your childhood friend, I’ll get us someone better. I swear this on my name and my soon to be title. This body shall let the wonderful name Tora rest and RISE WITH MACE! The soon to be Villain Emperor!”

~Couple of minutes pass~

The memories of Tora had dwindled and was fully incorporated into the mind of Mace.

Mace in the end, awoke from the memories and saw that it was still night-time.

The room had one make-shift window, which was made with a bunch of leaves and sticks tied together, a stick holding it open wide to show the beautiful starry night sky. Mace was too weak to move outside so he’d decided to stay on the rather comfortable straw-bed. He tucked into his woolly fur cover and placed his recouping mind on the even softer dark coloured woolly pillow.

“At least your bed was comfortable” he chuckled to himself, trying to lighten his mood up after witnessing the tragedy of Tora’s past.

“Now that I think about it, I haven’t called for the system yet…”

“Ahhh… never mind, I’ll call for System tomorrow.” He thought before allowing sleep to overtake him.

=====================

~6 Days Later~

It had past 5 Mornings when Mace finally awoke. His body more comfortable after sleeping for what he’d believed to be a couple of hours.

“*Yawn* That was a good sleep”.

*Very loud Grumbling from his stomach*

“I’m so hungry suddenly. What’s going on?” He thought.

He sat up on his bed, shifting his seating to place his legs on the area of floor that had no broken glass. Two dark brown slippers sat in the middle of the broken glass and Mace put them on before beginning to kick the pile of broken pieces of glass into a single spot.

A mirror sat on the table under the window. It faced Mace head on and allowed him to have a good look at what he’s body looked like after a “couple of hours” of sleep.

Mace was shocked to see that his new body had lost a couple of pounds of weight and his appearance looked dehydrated. His Pitch-black hair was long, yet brittle. It was different to what Mace normally had due to its length reaching up to his hips. On his face was a beard that looked too scruffy to call it anything other than a dead cat sitting on his face though to Mace, it looked like it had potential if the right cuts were made. His brows were completely bushy while his dark brown eyes looked lifeless to boot. His nose was average sized, but his face had freckles that covered 60% of the surface. His cheeks, though now looking less chubby, surrounded each side of his lips and nose making his face look disproportionate.

“It really does look like me… Did I really look like this?”

“I’ve never really paid too much attention to the details but wow… This is me…”

To Be continued…
