Episode 1

Samantha quickly grabbed the towel and bathrobe and then left the room. Samantha frowned in surprise when she heard the rush of water from the bathroom. Usually at this time, her cousin and one of their roommates have left the house

Samantha knock three-times on the bathroom door.

“Rachel?” Samantha calls her cousin's name.

“Hey, Sammy, its Matthew,” a baritone voice answered from inside the bathroom.

He's late for school. Samantha thought, he usually, leave early due to his classes and it surprises Samantha that why is he not in his room knowing that he has his own bathroom .

“My shower got a leaked. I tried to fixed it but got worst,” he explained.

“okay, just please hurry up, Matt,” she said. “You’re already late and I am too.”

Matthew only respond a curse maybe he just realized he’s already late and he hate it. As she was about to go to the kitchen, she heard a phone ringing from the living room. Not minding whose phone it is. Samantha answered the phone.

“Hello?” she frowned when no one answered from the other line. She waited for about 2 minutes and finally someone spoke.

“Where’s Matthew? Matthew McCoy?” a girl answered her with a rasped voice from the other line. “Why are you answering a phone call that it doesn’t meant for you? Where is he?” even though her voice was a little trembling she tried to hide it.

“Oh, Matt’s still in the bathroom. Do you want me to give the phone to him or maybe just wait for five minutes he’s almost----"

“Who are you?” she firmly asked but you can feel her voice is trembling.

“I’m Sam---" was interrupted by a busy tone from the other line.

Samantha realized that maybe it was Matthew’s new girlfriend. Samantha just slapped her forehead afterwards.

SAMANTHA’S MOTHER NEVER STOPPED pestering her about getting her back to Small Town where she grew up and wants her to resign to her job, that her mother expect her to do what ladies do which is marry a man and do what a wife supposed to do. But That’s not what Samantha wants to be. Her mother wanted her to marry a man she likes for her and stop being an independent woman.

It doesn’t make any sense At all. Settle down? That’s what her mother’s belief, a woman must settle down right after she graduated. But, that’s not what she wanted to, all she did after her post-graduation she moved out and travel from their small town to the city where she can be what she wanted to be.

She loves her mother but sometimes she has to be herself and make her own dreams came true.

“When are you going to get married and give me grandchildren? Have you think about what I told you? This is for your own good. . .” her mother’s line that she always here whenever they had the chance to talk, even her Aunts and Uncles. Can’t she live her life according to what she wanted to be? Guess, not. If her mother don’t stopped insisting then she’ll have no choice.

Samantha had just finished having breakfast when Matthew entered the kitchen. He hurried to get a sandwich. Nothing’s new about this day just a normal day, Samantha thought. She sigh. Matthew McCoy, a certified playboy, you can describe him as “Tall, Dark and Handsome” her first day of moving in here at the apartment he tried to flirt with her but he was left mouth hanging when she bluntly told him she’s not interested.

“Someone called you, Matt.” She said.

He smirk.

“You know, its disrespectful if you picked up someone’s phone.” He teased. “Where’s Rachel?”

“I’m sorry! But, go, you’re late! And by the way, Rachel will not be home today. She was told by her parents to go home. I guess, a family dinner,” she explained. “I guess, I’m going home too, my mom called.”

Samantha doubt her mother’s intentions this time, but going on her parents' home won’t kill her, don’t she? After all, she missed them and her little sister who always banged her phone with text messages and calls asking when is she going home or telling her she missed her and asking for advises, etc.,

Samantha can not blame her sister they were very closed to the point Samantha always stalked her sister whenever she go out on a date.

“Lock the door, sexy!” he ordered and left the house.

“Okay! Take care, Matt!” she shouted.

Matthew is a born in a rich family, you'll see that in his actions even if he does not tell, if someone noticed it he will just drop the topic and leave. Maybe he does not feel in showing it to everybody. That what Samantha like about him though its just a brotherly like.

After an hour of doing her morning routine Samantha heard a sequential sound of doorbell, Samantha approached the door to see who was outside the doorstep without a realization that she was wearing only a bathrobe that almost showing her brassiere. Samantha's eyes widened a woman who is taller than her staring at her. Embarrassed that was she felt that moment, her cheeks blushed but she hide it and pretend like nothing had happened.

“Yes? Who are you looking for?” she asked, as the stranger finally looked at her face emotionless.

“You should at least put your clothes on first before opening the door,” the strange woman said.

Samantha violently closed the door and quickly went to her room to get dressed. Her body is shaking from embarrassment when realization hits her hard. Even if it was a woman it was still an embarrassment knowing that was a stranger. After a minute or so of getting dressed she came back to the door and opened it again to check if the stranger has already left. But to her dismay the stranger was still there leaning near at the door crossed arms.

She breathe deeply.

“What--"

“Can you please move away to the door? So, I could enter on my apartment.” Danielle said sarcastically.

“Your apartment?” she asked confused.

“Yes, oh! Did Matthew forgot to tell you that I was the owner of this apartment? He's my half-brother. This “playground” of you and my brother is mine!” Danielle said in insulting tone.

No doubt about that this stranger and Matthew share the same face but this stranger has a female version a beautiful version. But if you don’t know Matthew you'll be confused.

“Matthew didn’t mentioned about having a half-sibling.” Samantha said nonchalantly.

For a moment she smiled at her and quickly was replaced by an emotionless expression. Did she just smiled at her or it was just her imagination? Samantha shake her head.

“Where’s my brother, by the way?”

“Matthew’s at school. Are you sure you’re related to him?” she assured.

Again, Danielle’s expression became colder and smile scarily at Samantha.

“Don’t make me dragged you out on my apartment, miss.”

Samantha gasped. “I’m sorry, but Matthew haven’t told me anything. This is for safe keeping, I don’t know if you were telling the truth. Maybe you’re a robbery or a con artist. Since this apartment isn’t mine,” she said with a sullen look.

Danielle laughed sarcastically.

“Do you want me to introduce you to my entire clan, to my employees, and to my parents, just to prove to you that he’s my brother and I own this fucking apartment?” she half shouted at her gritted her teeth.

Samantha looked at the stranger’s face with fear but still covering it with fierce.

“Okay… okay, just give me time to call Matthew and… confirm this matter to him. Cause obviously I don’t know about anything to this. W-what's your name again?” Samantha asked.

“Danielle. Danielle Montgomery.” Danielle’s arm immediately blocked the door from closing again.

That left Samantha in shocked.

“W-wait--” never on Samantha’s life she was intimidated by just looking at her intently.

Danielle ignored Samantha’s protest she sat on the sofa harshly and looked at Samantha who was still completely stunned by her actions.

“I won’t let you shut the door in front of my face again. Call my brother and tell him to go back here, we have a lot of discussion to do.” She said with a sharp tone.

No choice, Samantha thought she needs some explanation from Matthew too. He didn’t even bother to tell her about this matter, even her cousin---maybe Rachel forgot telling her in the first place.

So, Samantha grab her phone from coffee table and speed dialed Matthew’s number hoping that he hasn’t in the middle of the class.

“Hey, Sammy, ‘sup?” He answered thankfully he’s still on the road, she could her noises from different vehicles.

“Someone is here, she told me that you need to come back here. ASAP.”

Matthew didn’t answered her but Samantha heard him cursed.

“She also said that she’s your….. s-sister.” she bit her lips nervously.

“Oh! I’m sorry, Sammy, but I couldn’t make it at this hour I have my exams today maybe I’ll be home after lunch,” Matthew uttered. “Hey, Hermana! Be good to her. Bye!” he ended the call.

Samantha doesn’t know what to do after that call, she glance at Danielle was now giving her a sullen look and a bit of disgust. What is she thinking? Its not her thing to sleep around with Matthew. As if. She just rolled her eyes and picked up her bag ignoring those sharp gazes from Danielle.

“I have to go. Just wait for Matthew after lunch. You can have this apartment all you want,” without glancing at Danielle’s amused face Samantha left the apartment.

Samantha is shaking. That was a first time she was intimidated by someone and first time she felt nervous around someone like her. Someone like Danielle Montgomery.

Samantha still thinking about what happened back in the apartment, how she made herself an embarrassed in front of a complete stranger. She doesn’t know what to react properly. So, she became rude to her. Not to mention she was freaking out inside her mind.

“Hey, mate, have you heard about the new CEO’s arrival tomorrow?” Stephanie approached her as she came out from the elevator.

Stephanie Lockwood, the certified ‘GOSSIP GIRL’ in their department she gossiped almost everything. It’s like that was her assigned job. No wonder Ms. Elena their supervisor is so annoyed towards her. She just rolled her eyes and sigh.

“No, why?” Samantha asked.

“Oh, I see. I thought you knew about it.” Stephanie presumed with a disappointment.

“I wouldn’t asked ‘why’ if I knew it,” she blurt out.

When she got to her desk, Samantha immediately arranged the paperwork and begun working.

“Go back to your work, Stephanie,” Samantha brush her off.

Stephanie whimpered in annoyance while stamping her feet away from her desk. Samantha disregard it and forced herself to focused on her work. But no matter what she does, she still can’t get over on what happened earlier before she left the apartment.

Samantha found herself on the pantry quietly comparing Danielle and her brother Matthew. There’s a big difference between them---the posture and aura are vastly different. Danielle does not smile but she does give you a scary smirk overall she’s a total jerk for Samantha.

As Samantha hark back to her memory, Danielle was a cover to a Star Magazine the title was ‘the nerve-racking’ in business world.

Samantha notice how her brother Matthew avoided her seems like his scared of the idea on his sister staying for good here in Metropolis City. What’s up with those two? Samantha thought.
