5. Conclusion

Time seemed to slow down at that moment. The two snakes had embedded their teeth into Gareth's body and would not let go. He could feel his body being stretched apart. He could not let go of the eye stalk as it was the only thing stopping the two snakes from pulling Gareth apart. Gareth's only option now was to continue the direction he was in, to pull out the eye of the crab.

As Gareth pulled more of the eye out, it would cause pain to both the crab and the snake disrupting their coordination and loosen their grip on Gareth. Gareth would use this opportunity to pull more off the eye out however the snakes would a second later pull harder causing Gareth to weaken his pull allowing the crab to pull a little of its eye back.

Neither side wanted to let the other side win, and this caused a stalemate that lasted more than a dozen minutes.

Comparing the two forces Gareth was weaker in strength but made up for willpower while the two snakes had abundant strength and good willpower. The crab would win if it could hold out and exhaust Gareth's energy on the other hand if Gareth could pull out the eye from the crab, it may give him a chance to escape.

Gareth was breathing heavily and severely weakened and took about all his strength just to maintain his grip. The crab was going crazy scuttling around like a chook on steroids. It constantly jumped and crashed through sand dunes in an attempt to shake Gareth off. Gareth was previously covered in blood but going through the sand mounds had turned him into a sandman.

Gareth couldn't hold on any longer his muscles were screaming at him for being stretched further than acceptable range, he was also just about out of energy too. He decided on one last pull. Gritting his teeth, Gareth roared and pulled as hard as he could.

Sensing the different atmosphere, the crab tried to retract its eye as hard as it can but Gareth was overpowering it. Slowly more of the eye was pulled out and then with an inaudible snap Gareth felt all the resistance immediately disappearing.

The eye stalk came out like a large noodle and with it came along muscle, veins, viscous liquid and brain matter.

The crab and snakes experienced a huge amount of pain all at once and it overloaded any other thoughts they had. As such the snakes released their grip and Gareth was tumbling off the crab shell.

Rolling into the sand, Gareth struggled to lift his head, with his blurred vision he could make out the crab dashing off into the distance wailing so loudly his ears bled. Seeing that he was finally free he feinted where he was.
