On the eve of the Li and Huang families' plan to get their children Bao and Jia engaged, Liqin develops an insecurity for his long cherished feelings for Jia. Bao on the other hand faces an assault on the snow-capped peaks of Cervinia. As the families get together to unravel the truth behind the assault and protect their children from the danger lurking in the darkness it opens up and heals past wounds of betrayal, hurt and grudge of the elders as they seek to forgive each other for the sake of their children.

The Storm That Stilled The Surging Sea

Back in the suite, Liqin was losing control of himself. Jia helped him change after wrapping a towel around him and held him under the cold shower.


Although being a Taekwondo black belt, she was now struggling to hold him under the shower as he had lost his composure.


In a brief moment, he held her against the wall, under the shower, looked into her eyes passionately, and said, "I want to tell you something before it's too late."


As the glistening droplets showered their wet bodies he continued, "I have over the last few days, gone crazy over the thought of losing you someday. I was confused as to why I felt so insecure earlier, but now I am sure, that I cannot live a moment without you."


His warm breath now covered her face as he continued, and said, "I have come to the realization, that I like you deeply, and my existence is intertwined with yours."


Jia turned around and looked at his face as his lips closed upon hers, and replied, "I know you like me Liqin, and I also like you above anyone I know."


He landed a peck on her lips, interrupted her as she closed her eyes slowly, and said, "You don't get it right. I know that I neither have a family, that I can call my own to give you, nor do I have a hand over my head to provide you with the paternal support, that a girl receives from her in-laws."


Jia shook her head, interrupted him, looked into his eyes lovingly, and said, "You have been the one I cherished the most since I came to understand, trust, friendship, and faith. I will never lack anything with you. You don't need to feel inferior."


He tightly held her shoulders, and said, "Wait, you've got me wrong. I do not have feelings for you as a friend would have for a friend, but as a man would have for his woman. I have come to the realization, that what I feel for you is more than friendship. My whole being yearns for your companionship. I just wish I could hold you in my embrace for eternity."


He continued with a deep passion in his eyes, "The thought of losing you, has made me crazy. Morning, evening, and night I have been longing to see your face, and hear your voice."


Chapter 24 - The confession.
