Entering Conquest

[3 Days Later]

*knock* *knock*

"Delivery!" shouted the delivery man as he knocked on the door.

"Coming!" exclaimed Arthur while quickly getting up from the couch with his smart phone in hand.

"Hello, please sign here to confirm you've received the VR pod." said the delivery man while pushing his clipboard towards Arthur.

Arthur quickly signed the necessary documents as he was very excited to finally start playing Conquest.

Thirty minutes later the crew and Arthur finally finished setting up the VR pod and Arthur was ready to play.

After sending off the crew Arthur got a quick sip of Coca-Zeno and then went back to his room.

Arthur silently slipped into the pod and got into a comfortable position before finally closing the pod and entering Conquest.

In the blink of an eye Arthur awakened to a seemingly endless white space filled with nothing but a solitary spatial fissure with {Conquest} written above it.

Arthur determinedly walked into the fissure and was taken to a completely different place.

He was taken to a terrace on top of a mountain surrounded by wilderness. Arthur looked around and saw beautiful trees and a dark sky filled with sparkling stars.

When Arthur looked up into the sky he saw massive white numbers that seemed to be a countdown.

[00:09:34]

Arthur assumed that's how long he'll have to wait until he can actually start playing.

Arthur tried to get up from the hammock on the terrace but soon realized he couldn't move his legs.

'Why can't I move?' thought Arthur with a solemn look on his face.

He soon realized that it was just his legs that were paralyzed so he slowly calmed down and closed his eyes trying to imagine how his first experience in Conquest will be like.

The nine minutes passed by in a flash as Arthur was busy fantasizing about the future.

When the countdown finally ticked off the last second Arthur was transported to yet another blank white space, except this time a little fairy with green wings and pink hair was flying a few metres ahead of him.

"Hellooo~ My name is Trixie! What's your name~"

Arthur quickly put on a charming smile and said "Hello, my name is-"

[Please respond with your in-game name]

'As this is a fresh start for me I should have a name symbolising my new-found hope. Neo would be the perfect name as it means new'

[Input your in-game name here] [ Neo ]

"Hii Neo~ it's nice to meet you!"

"Now please choose which race you would like to choose out of the six available races."

[Out of the six races, the Humans are by far the biggest race with humans situated in every corner of the world. The humans are also a very versatile race capable of adapting to any environment with a sufficient amount of time.]

{Race Passive} - You have a 5% exp bonus and your status with other races always starts off as good.

{Weakness} - As humans have a lack of powerhouses it has resulted in them being unable to unify the world under one banner despite their numbers far outclassing the five other races combined.

[The Orcs rule the barren lands with their mighty strength and unmatched willpower. Compared to the other five races the Orcs have the lowest intelligence but they also have a higher Endurance and Strength Stat.]

{Race Passive} - By choosing the Orc race every attribute point you add into Endurance or Strength will have a 5% stat increase and any skill or weapon that uses blunt force will have a 5% increase in attack power.

{Weakness} - The Orcs lack of intelligence has caused their civilizations to be mundane and barbaric, coupled with their lack of centralized leadership it has given them no choice but to adhere to the law of the jungle.

[The Dwarves are peerless in terms of blacksmithing and are always commissioned to forge weapons by the other races. The Dwarves are much stronger in mountainous regions than anywhere else as they have a keen mind with the adequate strength to utilize it efficientally. Although they have high intelligence and strength their Agility is the lowest out of all the races.]

{Race Passive} - As a Dwarf you have a much higher chance of success in the blacksmith class and every attribute point you put into strength or intelligence will have a 5% stat increase.

{Weakness} - Their body type makes it hard for them to fight big enemies, they're also very gullible and can be bought off with a cup of rum or some treasure.

[The Elves are Nature's protectors and due to that Nature blesses them. The Elves' technology and architecture is ahead of the other races due to their incredibly high intelligence and wisdom.]

{Race Passive} - Due to the Elves closeness with Nature their stats are boosted by 5% in any forest region. With the Elves' high intelligence and Wisdom any attribute points that go towards those two stats will have a 5% stat increase.

{Weakness} - The Elves hubris has not allowed them to effectively communicate and trade with the other races which has led them to be isolated and with no allies.

[The Angels are gods' apostles and their role in Conquest is to keep the demons at bay. The Angels powerful light magic and their status as gods' apostles has given them the right to look down at any one of the other races.]

{Race Passive} - The Angels have gods blessing so they start off with a higher Luck and Charisma stat. They can also use their wings to fly to high places at the cost of their mana.

{Weakness} - The Angels miniscule amount of members has forced them to ally with the humans just to suppress the rampaging Demons. In all of Conquest there is only about 10,000 Angels.

[The Demons arose from the underworld with the DemonKing planning on corrupting Conquest and merging it with their Realm. They have very distinct features with fleshy red wings and black horns poking out from the top of their heads. The Demons' arrival evoked the wrath of god who sent down his Angels to eliminate them. This also caused the Dwarves and the Orcs to form an alliance so as to survive this catastrophe.]

{Race Passive} - As a Demon you will have your stats elevated by 10% during the night. Demons are also able to use their wings to fly to high places at the cost of their mana. (A/N The 10% increase in stats does not apply indoors, which means it only works when they are in an open place such as the barren lands or a forest)

{Weakness} - As a Demon, light magic does considerably more damage to you than any of the other elements. The Demon's Underworld background causes them to start off with less Luck and Charisma stats than the other races.

After spending about five minutes carefully reading through all the available options Arthur finally settled on the Human race.

Arthur's reasoning for this was that compared to all the other races the human's seem to have the biggest room for improvement and that coupled with the fact that Arthur always chooses Human as his race in VR games it was an easy decision to make.

"I will be Human"

"Are you sure? You can't change your mind later~"

"I'm sure"

"Alrightyy~ Now please choose your class~"

[When you reach level 10 a warrior must decide whether to be a Swordsmen or a Shield Warrior. More information will be given at the class change altar.]

[When you reach level 10 you must decide whether to be an Arcane Mage or an Elementalist. More information will be given at the class change altar.]

[When you reach level 10 you must decide whether to be an Assassin or a Thief. More information will be given at the class change altar.]

[When you reach level 10 you must decide whether to be a Healing Paladin or a Dark Paladin. More information will be given at the class change Altar.]

[When you reach level 10 you must decide whether to be a Light Healer or a Dark Healer. More information will be given at the class change altar.]

Arthur didn't even bother to look at the other classes and directly chose the warrior class.

"Okayy~ Now that that's done all you have to do is start playing~"

"And how do I do that?"

"Just say 'Game Start' and you'll be transported to the starter village."

Arthur slowly closed his eyes as he took a few steps away from Trixie.

Arthur breathed in deeply and then ubruptly exhaled while simultaneously opening his eyes.

"GAME START!"
