The broken seal l

Mei jingjing walked along the hallway with maidens following her trail, she held unto her gown in a lady like manner and arrived at a courtyard which was decourated with a fountain in the middle.

Queen Jiaying sat on a royal chair and her eyes only averted from a tea cup on the table when Mei jingjing walked in.

Li Jie glanced at his beautiful wife who was heading his way, Chao Xua grinned and whispered to Li Jie.

"Oh my young master, your wife is really beautiful."

Li Jie glanced at him and raised a suspicious brow. "Are you starting to hit on my wife?"

Chao Xua shook his head immediately. "Not at all young master, I wouldn't dare."

Li Jie only said it to tease him, Chao Xua is fund of saying a lot of rubbish but Li Jie liked him either ways.

weng Lie couldn't tear his eyes off Mei jingjing as she walked up to Li Jie, he frowned deeply, why did Li Jie get such a beautiful lady as a wife?, a demon like him doesn't need such a pretty wife.

Mei jingjing felt anxious as all eyes fell on her, she felt like turning around and running off but faught the impulse and continued to walk ahead.

She knelt before the Queen and lowered her gaze.

"Greetings my Queen."

A cup of tea with two lotus seed was handed to Mei jingjing, she passed it forward to the Queen Jiaying who took the cup of tea drinking it in one go and placing some Yuan's in it before handing it back to Mei jingjing.

Mei jingjing lowered her gaze with her lashes flickering, she tensed up the minute Queen Jiaying tilted her head up to look at her.

"You're really beautiful, you remind me alot of your parents."

"The... thank you my queen."

She handed the cup to the maid, if she has any plans of escaping, she needs to know every route of the house.

She pursed her lips lost in thought not untill Li Jie who was beside her the whole time snapped his finger at her face startling her.

"What are you thinking, get up."

She slowly got to her feet, it's clear he doesn't love her so why did he marry her?

She had to know the truth behind the marriage or else she might just loose it. She summoned the courage and finally asked.

"My Queen, pardon me but I know my parents promised to get me married to your son and I understand if it was a promise that had to be fulfilled but don't you think I have the right to know the reason behind it."

The Queen got to her feet startling Mei jingjing she took a step back, she didn't dare to look the Queen in the eyes.

"I'll tell you when the time is right, for now it's none of your business."

"But...."

"My decision is final." Queen Jiaying wasn't ready to tell her yet, she hasn't even told her son the whole truth behind the marriage, she was about to walk out when a strange force suddenly hit her, she gasped with her eyes wide opened.

Faraway from Lijiang, a forest seal was broken opening a realm of strange and powerful beasts, they all stepped out of the realm touching the earth with their feets.

Under the deep ocean, a seal was broken opening an underground realm were water beasts swam to the surface of the water.

All the beasts had their eyes set on Lijiang kingdom.

Queen Jiaying slumped to her knees making everyone rush to her.

"Mother, are you alright?" Li Jie asked as he crouched next to her.

Mei jingjing placed her hand warmly on her shoulder.

"You aren't well my Queen, I'll take you to your Chambers."

She stopped Mei jingjing with the look of terror in her eyes. "No, there's no time, the seal has been broken." she finally spilled it out.

Everyone exchanged confused glances even the guards were stricken by it. "What seal?" weng Lie asked.

"The seal."

She glanced at Li Jie who was just as confused. "Li Jie my son, you..... you have to leave now, they won't spare you when they come here, you have to leave."

Li Jie was even more confused. "Who won't spare me, what are you talking about?"

Queen Jiaying got to her feet. "The beasts from another realm, they were locked with a seal for over hundred years so no one can bring them back but the seal has been broken somehow and they're heading to Lijiang now, you have to leave, they won't spare your life."

She glanced at Mei jingjing. "You have to go with him, as his protector you shouldn't let any harm come to him."

"Protector?" Mei jingjing was dumbfounded.

"I can't explain it all, I can only tell you this much but you have to leave now!"

"Leave to were?"

"Find the half of the seals, the seals are broken and the half is missing, find it and try to fix it"

Li Jie and Mei jingjing exchanged glances before averting their gaze at the Queen mother.

"Why are they after me?" Li Jie's voice was still as calm as ever.

"Your powers, its... it's a gift from the three seals but the beasts want to claim your powers and use it to get their revenge. The seals had been cursed and were suddenly separated, you need to find the rest of the seal to break the curse."

"What curse?" weng Lie asked.

She made Li Jie face her. "Listen you mustn't let them get your powers, it's one of the reasons why we never wanted you to step out cause it might lure the beasts out, you have to find those half seals."

"What about you?"

"We'll be fine as long as they don't get hold of you, go pack now and go!"

Li Jie hasn't understood the whole situation yet or what his mother was talking about.

"I'll come with." weng Lie spoke up, they glanced at him.

"There's noway I'm letting those beast's harm my mother or my people."

"No." Li Jie said to him. "You'll stay here and take care of Mother."

"You can't tell me what to do, I'm older than you so don't order me around."

"It's not about ordering but mother's safety."

Queen Jiaying held his hand. "No, let him go with, you'll need all the help you can get."

Mei jingjing was confused and shakened up, her head was spinning and she couldn't make out what was happening.

"How do you know all this?" she asked.

Queen Jiaying glanced at her. "I felt the seal break, the beast's are coming and if they manage to kill Li Jie and get his powers, we're all doomed!."

She held Mei jingjing's hand. "Promise me you'll protect Li Jie, it's your duty to protect him, promise me. you have to find the three seals."

Mei jingjing was speechless, she couldn't think straight, everything was happening so fast she had no idea what to say.

"Let's get you to your room first, you aren't well." she helped her up to her feet.

The fire seal was also broken and the beast came out of their realms turning into humans, his fiery gaze was at Lijiang kingdom, he smirked and was suddenly out of sight.

Queen Jiaying rested on her bed with Li Jie beside her while Mei jingjing and weng Lie stayed close by.

"Mother, I need to understand what's happening here?, how come I'm hearing about this seal for the first time?" Li Jie pointed out.

"Your father and I didn't want to tell you the truth but when you were born, you were gifted with the power of three seals but the seals were suddenly cursed awakening the beast of each seals and they want your powers."

Queen Jiaying took a deep breath and continued "Before you were gifted, your father made a wish to the lightning to destroy the seal if it ends up awakening the beasts but it can only be reversed if the seals are placed back together."

"What does that make me, a demon?"

"No my son, you were gifted by the spirit seal. if you can't find the three pieces and stop the beasts, you'll loose your life, even if you end up stopping them, there's no guarantee you might still live."
